Hi,

I had a look at your template. I noticed that your image html coding has no auctiva tags for example [IMAGE1] and there is no description tag [DESCRIPTION]

Did you remove them prior to posting this template on the practice board ? or are you trying to save this template in auctiva just as it is in the practice link above. ?

What error meassage are you getting when trying to save it ?
The error message is "Microsoft Internet Explorer has encountered a problem....blah, blah...and has to shut down" and then my IE shuts down.
You don't see any Auctiva tags because I don't put them in until after I insert the the rest of it - then I go to "Design" and put them in there. That is how one of the other "whiz" people said to make a custom template in the custom template threads. Think it was Magie?
Then I save the template and when I go to use it to create a listing as soon as I choose that tempoate I get the error message and my IE closes.

Hi,

Is this the only time IE crashes on you ? when using this template ? Have you been able to save, preview etc using other templates ?

I see that there is some java script in this template, is it to protect your images from being downloaded or copied ? because when I tried to edit the template in the practive link, it barred me from doing so. I wonder if this java script is causing the problems ?

How long has this been happening ? I ask that becasue auctiva has just recently upgraded the editor and for some users it has caused a lot of problems. Check out the forum threads under " NEW Editor" and see if this template works ok in the beta test site.

I think you might need to put in a request to the help desk, if it wont work in the beta test site. I am no whizz on html... Smile

The whizz just reflects how many times I have posted a comment, not my skills ~~ or lack of them, lol..

As for the advice given regarding the auctiva tags, I don't think I understand what it is you do there, but what I do (and it saves alot of time) is to place the tags in the template and save it as a master template in the TEXT View editor (not the design view, ). Then when I list I just choose that template.

Carol.
Hello again,

Ok, I was able to remove the java script and placed a description tag in there also. I didn't remove your image html codeing, because I don't know how you like your pictures to display. This is just a test anyway.

Copy this template into your TEXT Editor (under listing) and DO NOT look at it in design view, save it, then try attaching it to a TEST auction. See if it still crashes you out of IE.
Hi Carol,
Thanks for the enlightenment about the "whiz" thing - I thought it meant that you were a "whiz" at everything!
Yes, this is the only time my IE crashes and this is my first template so I don't know if it crashes on others.
I'll try taking out the java "no right click" and see if that makes it work, the "no right click" really doesn't stop people if they know how to get around it.
If that doesn't work then I'll try the beta version.
Thanks,
Beth
