Hi I have been trying for hours to add some photos to an advert and although I was able to upload to auctvia, when I try to upload to the add there are none showing at all. I should have loads of photos the boxes are there but they are empty, where have my photos gone please, on the adds I have running they are showing there okay. I am just unable to make any ads with photos.

EVERY Sunday it seems, but Ebay also seems to be having image problems since my gallery pictures - on Ebay's servers - are loading very slowly too, but they DO load.

Geez Auctiva, get your act together, I couldn't possibly recommend ANYONE use this service. I'll start using my own FTP hosting from now on, but it'll just be something else with Auctiva - must be a glutton for punishment, and WHY does Ebay still recommend and certify them?

Blech.
I think you comments are a bit harsh considering this is a free service and does have many advantages, i will continue to use auctiva but would prefer if there was less downtime as when your listings dont have pictures like is happening now for me (sunday evening) prime time for selling, your sales suffer.

i have tried to recommend auctiva to 2 other people, but the times i was trying to show them how to use it the site was loading slowly and we cudnt upload pictures (more site maintaince?) so we just gave up and they didnt bother using auctiva again. so i havent recommended auctiva to anyone since.

but overall auctiva is a very good service, i hope something can be done to provide less downtime to its users.

It isn't harsh when hundreds and perhaps thousands of dollars are at stake. I've got $600 worth of items due to end in less than an hour, and there's no pictures, AND it's Sunday, Ebay's busiest day.

If it was Wednesday, maybe I wouldn't be so harsh, and maybe if there were techs monitoring their servers 24/7/365, as they should given the circumstances, I'd cut them more slack.

Don't throw the "free" nonsense at me, that's Auctiva's problem, not mine. The people PAYING have the same problem, so that's no solution either. I'd pay, but for the same level of service as "free" customers? Get real.
I just had items end with no bids and wondered why. Confused Guess what happened? Eek There was nothing there. Everything had disappeared, but my store window. If auctiva knows when they will be messing with our pictures, please let us know so our auctions aren't scheduled to end at that time. OH WELL. its only money. We still have our health and our sanity . . . Roll EyesI mean, uh . . . we still have our health Razz. Have a great day everyone.

hey i hear u man, i have alot of listing ending sunday evening and no pictures which means no sales so we and im sure many others are in the same boat

Let's not forget the THOUSANDS of hits our listings often get, which is a LOT of free advertising for Auctiva. I think we're pretty even for their "free" service and the "free" advertising I provide them in return.

So much for the sale of that $400 and $200 handbag, courtesy of a Sunday-phobic Auctiva server.

anyone know of a good free alternative to auctiva?

The BEST alternative is to pay Ebay for their enhanced picture services. Think it runs $9.95 per month, I'll be signing up shortly.

The snag with that (as far as I've been able to establish so far) is you can't use Ebay Picture Manager when listing on Auctiva. I've asked Auctiva about that 'cause I recently subscribed to Picture Manager. I don't know if it's possible to edit your active listing's pics via Ebay and THEN use Pic Manager to upload the original pictures from your computer. Haven't tried that yet.
spoke too soon. I can't access any images for the auction I have been attempting to create for the past three hours.

A WEEK IN THE LIFE OF AN AUCTIVA CUSTOMER

1st Day at Auctiva = Big Grin

2nd Day at Auctiva = Smile

3rd Day at Auctiva = Confused

4th Day at Auctiva = Roll Eyes

5th Day at Auctiva = Eek

6th Day at Auctiva = Frown

7th Day at Auctiva = Mad

C'mon guys . . . Don't we all have better things to do on a Sunday afternoon than fight with Auctiva servers and software. We know you don't like to read our gripes - but, only YOU can turn the frowns upside down. Cool
