Most of my templates are working just fine but this one and a few others using the same picture layout are showing the pizza boxes where I didn't use an image.

Help!

Here's the auction number of one before I go and edit it:

5444800823

I know its prolly something simple I'm missing but I'm still getting used to these new tags Confused

Yes it is the same template using this picture code:

<P align=center><IMG style="BORDER-RIGHT: #96B06C 1px solid; BORDER-TOP: #96B06C 1px solid; BORDER-LEFT: #96B06C 1px solid; BORDER-BOTTOM: #96B06C 1px solid" hspace=1 src="[IMAGE2_URL]" width=400 vspace=2 name=picture>
<br>

Hi Wahm922,

I was looking at your problem, and checked your ebay page, but I think you may have already gone in and revised them all ?

They all look ok now. I did notice though that on your auctions that have the new christmas templates I had to scroll over by 2 inches to the right to view the page.

They were not centered on my viewing page. ? All of your auctions that have the kwk design template were fine though. ? it may just be me, and not your templates. I view at 800 x 600

I don't want to cause you more headaches lol Smile

I have this same problem when I use the scrolling store tag, (I have since removed the scrolling store and now use the flat store) seems to work for me?

anyway, like i said it may just be my computer that akes your page off, but thought you might want to ask other users how it looks to them.

Carol.
I am now having the same problem with my custom template as wahm922...

I have 7 pictures inside my custom template, on some auctions I only use 3 or 4 pictures. The other picture boxes are showing up as pizza boxes in the listed auction.

I also use the same html picture code as wahm922. Funny thing is when you preview your auction before posting it looks fine. It only shows the error (extra picture frames) when it gets to ebay.

I had to go in and revise every auction.

Where am I going wrong with my coding ? I am wondering if when I save the template I am saving it wrong ?

Here is a sample of the image html I used.

<P align=center><IMG style="BORDER-RIGHT: #556B2F 1px solid; BORDER-TOP: #556B2F 1px solid; BORDER-LEFT: #556B2F 1px solid; BORDER-BOTTOM: #556B2F 1px solid" hspace=1
src="[IMAGE2_URL]" width=400 vspace=2 name=picture>

<BR>
<P align=center><IMG style="BORDER-RIGHT: #556B2F 1px solid; BORDER-TOP: #556B2F 1px solid; BORDER-LEFT: #556B2F 1px solid; BORDER-BOTTOM: #556B2F 1px solid" hspace=1 src="[IMAGE3_URL]" width=400 vspace=2 name=picture>

<BR>
<P align=center><IMG style="BORDER-RIGHT: #556B2F 1px solid; BORDER-TOP: #556B2F 1px solid; BORDER-LEFT: #556B2F 1px solid; BORDER-BOTTOM: #556B2F 1px solid" hspace=1 src="[IMAGE4_URL]" width=400 vspace=2 name=picture>

this would carry on for 7 pictures in total. When I save my template, I set the "choose image type" as " Original Image URLS "

Is this the right image to save it under ?

Can you see what I am doing wrong with my html image coding please.

Thanks
In case the cap'n is nestled down is his bunk (heated...the snows falling thick and fast) by the time you read his previous messages, here's a little example of CSSified code that works fine for him:

<a href="[IMAGE1_URL]">
<img src="[IMAGE1_URL]" style="BORDER-RIGHT: #556B2F 1px solid; BORDER-TOP: #556B2F 1px solid; BORDER-LEFT: #556B2F 1px solid; BORDER-BOTTOM: #556B2F 1px solid; width:400;margin:2px"></a>

You'll have to clue me in about the name=picture business, as I'm not sure what that's in there for, dummy that I am.

Good Luck and don't get yer timbers shivered,

Good morning Capt,

Hope your up and about on this snowy day ... We had to dig ourselves out one year ,,, brrrr

Anyway, back to solving this image thingie,

I really am not sure about the " name=picture " business either ?

I went into every auction and revised them, so the auctions look ok now. I just took out the extra image tags, it removed the pizza boxes on my auctions ...

The problem is, when you preview the template in auctiva (just before posting it) it shows up perfect, No pizza boxes. The problem seems to be when it gets uploaded to ebay the extra image tags (that are not being used) show up on the auction page.

I think Tom or Mike mentioned that auctiva normally removes any unused image tags. So, it is either I am using the wrong code, or auctiva is not picking up the extra image tags in my template as it uploads it to ebay.

I will try your css coding, and see if that works. Thanks for your help Tom,,, stay warm.

I believe Auctiva put that name thing in when I put my template in. Ya know it has a funny way of changing things for you!

I would like to hear from the guys in CA why this is happening Wink

I'm just so tired of messing with all my templates to get htem to work right over here. I would like to have them working right once and for all. I have never had these problems in the past with my templates Frown
Ello again Capt.

I was wondering, what css code would I insert to make the top and bottom border the same size. ?

Left and right are ok, but the bottom border (gold stripe is thicker than the top)

I know you have the answer, cos your a whizz at this. You know Tom, maybe you should open up a web site on "fixing templates" and get paid for your knowledge. Or you could advertize it on ebay... TEMPLATE FIXER, they could pay for your service, a buy it now deal, then email you the offending template or post it to the free link.. you fix it, mail it back... bingo !!

I'm serious,, you should think about it. Smile
Hi Wahm922,

(wish I knew your name )

anyway I hear you friend ! I am beginning to get bored of all this too. I just want to list and have 100% or 99% at the very least, faith that I do NOT have to keep checking ebay to see how the auctions look.

I spend more time in here asking questions on how to FIX something or posting to the help desk. I know its free, and people say you shouldn't whine if its free, but I am getting so fed up of all the errors.

and I know that most auction hosts have problems from time to time, but I am beginning to wonder if we (auctiva users) are being used as TEST Pilots for this free site ? are we ?

I keep thinking after all the hard work to move everything over here from SD and getting everything set up, I really do not have it me to start again with another host... just to much work learning all again new.

So, I keep on trying to get this site working for me and keep on top of things... I just thank you from the bottom of my heart and Capt and Tom and Mike and all the other users who help and give great advice. keeps me sane.

Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin lol or maybe NOT

Sid's right here, keepin' 'is feet warm on me coffee mug. Tail pointed out, I might add. Arr!

Looking at your template, I don't see any anchor statements. You need to have each one of those <img src=...> statements between <a href="[IMAGEx_URL]"> and </a>. Try taking that code I gave you earlier in the thread and inserting it after each one of those <p align=center> statments, instead of the <img src=...> statements. That should work out okay. If I'm not mistaken, that's what triggers Auctiva's "take out the unused image slots" mechanism. If not, let me know.

Happy trails,
CB
