X boxes in border showing on eBay but not Auctiva preview

Hi,

I don't belive it's anything your doing wrong. It's a problem that auctiva tech support needs to look at.

I saw a similar post to yours a few days ago, where this same problem was occuring with another auctiva template ( Xmas template)

Some of the gifs files on the borders (little santa pictures etc) were not showing up on ebay.

Another very experienced user " Capt Binghamton " was able to Fix this problem for this other user.

I thought auctiva was going to fix this template problem ?

From what I can gather some of the templates have a URL code for backgrounds gifs in them, that are not viewable outside of auctiva.

I do not have enough experience to go into your listing and edit the code, but if Capt Binghamton see's this post he might be able to edit your listing.

In the meantime, I would send tech support an ebay # and report this prblem to them.

By the way if you try and paste any html coding to the support desk, your message wont go through. It blocks any mesages that contain html in your question.

Yeah, I've got it fixed, I'm just straightening out that table with all the Blue's Clues stuff before I post it. Should be done shortly.

Okay, go to http://www.practiceboard.com/?2690861 and scroll down for the preview. If it looks okay to you, just copy the HTML code from the editor up above the preview. Then log into eBay, go to this auction, click "revise my listing", then click "revise description". Make sure the editor window is on "My own HTML" or whatever it says. Then delete the old code and replace it with this that you copied from practiceboard.

I replaced all 1000+ those non-breaking spaces with a table (one of the few times a table is useful) so it should look a little cleaner and maybe load a little faster(?)

What I did was spread the two columns a little further apart, per your original.

Plus, I moved the Auctiva Store Window outside of the template borders. This is so people who are using 800x600 resolution (the majority of eBayer's?) can see the entire ad without having to manually scroll to the right. "No horizontal scroll-bars" is always a good goal to shoot for.

Thanks so much for the help - both of you! I joined 3 days ago, and have never had a need to code in HTML - hence the 1000+ spaces to accomplish what a simple table could have, if only I knew the verbage to do one! (I'm a MS Office guru, so don't think I wasn't looking for a table feature somewhere!) Carol, I did read the other user's post about incomplete templates, but wasn't sure we were dealing with the same moth. Appears we were!
Anyway, I did apply the patch the Cap'n so graciously stitched, and it looks perfect! At least I know one auction presents properly. I was hoping Auctiva would speed my list time and auction appearance; it figures the only readily-available template that matches my logo is one with the flu (a bug!) I have a lot of seasonal merchandise I need to list for holiday sales, so I can't wait for a fix from Auctiva. I'll guess I'll list vanilla eBay for now until I have the time to delve into HTML coding. (I figure if I can wrap my mind around C++ and Photoshop, I can probably pick up HTML coding.)I haven't sent a problem report because, frankly, I don't know how, newbie that I am, and I'm too far behind schedule to figure it out - hence the severely lacking auction listings! I'll hopefully do so after I get the majority of these listings up and running.

You're quite welcome. Now, please go to the following URL: http://www.practiceboard.com/?2694568 . There you will find a repaired template for your use at Auctiva until they have the originals shipshape. Just copy the HTML and paste it to the template "text editor" (under "Custom Templates - Create" or whatever the verbiage is on the main listing menu page).
Important!: Save it as a new template, without trying to preview it, or switching the editor to "Design View".

You will note that there is space for only one picture, as in your Blue's auction. Feel free to modify it by adding more template tags from the "template text editor". Again, stay away from "Design View".
