Hi, I have been trying to create my new listings since yesterday and I am able to create one. Then when I try to save the second one I get a message that it can't find the server after a long timeout. I log back in and it's fine for the first listing then I get kicked out again when saving the second... Help!

I've been having the same problem for the last 2-3 days! I have Windows Vista and use AOL usually (with no problems), or use IE. I have already cleared my cache & cookies, but that doesn't seem to help. IF I can get a page to load, it will freeze up when I am almost finished editing! Arrrgh!!! I also notice that I get an ''Error on Page'' message on the bottom left corner?? (Duh! Now, tell me how to fix it!)

I keep hearing about Firefox. Can anyone tell me more about it? ANY help will be sincerely appreciated!

Thanks Taz,

I have just finished downloading Firefox (with the eBay add-on) and will keep my fingers crossed. I have heard good things about it, so now I will find out for myself! Anything to help me overcome my listing glitches would be a huge improvement! I just wonder why there is such a problem using AOL with Auctiva, and why it hasn't been fixed yet...

Pete - Firefox has several ebay add-ons available. Just do a search for 'ebay' on their add-on page: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/
I haven't used any myself yet, so can't really give a recommendation.

Kim - I have never subscribed to AOL, but have often read of problems with it, not working well with Auctiva is only one example. This may not be a minor soon-to-be-fixed issue, as I have read that AOL has not really been keeping up technologically with the rest of the industry. For example, their email system has had (and may still have) a big problem accepting more than one attachment at a time, due to severely outmoded technology.

Their software has also had negative press in the past for being intrusive and difficult to completely uninstall, as well as making it difficult, or impossible, to sign up with other service providers. Also, there has been really bad press over the extreme difficulty some subscribers have had from customer service reps when these subscribers have tried to discontinue service. Poor handling of subscriber private information has been another recent issue. For me, AOL would not be worth all the hassle.

UPDATE: I have used Firefox to do a few listings and everything is going smoothly, at least for now. It will take a little getting used to, but isn't hard at all to navigate your way through it. Thanks for steering me in the right direction!!

(Pete) Nineth-wave & Taz already answered this above. It's really simple...just follow the prompts. There are other ''add-ons'' available, but I am only using the one for eBay - so I really can't comment on them.

(TBows) I am on a new Vista with broadband, and was using IE whenever I couldn't get through with AOL. (I basically use the FREE AOL as my homepage and e-mail) I would suggest trying Firefox, and if it doesn't work for you - just uninstall it. I have a feeling you'll like it though.

(member-8880) I was using IE6 too. Never had any problems with it until recenty...and then, it was nothing BUT problems! Cleared cache, history, cookies, etc - no help! I never upgraded to IE7 because I had heard that was the version that was causing problems, so maybe that would have taken care of my problem. In any case, Firefox seems to be doing the trick (keeping fingers crossed & holding breath!)

Hope this helps...good luck & happy posting to ALL!

It's so funny how quick the buck is passed.
Been doing this for so long, it's kinda like "I know my body, and I know when something's wrong" even when the Doctor can't find anything!
We are on bellsouth DSL and have had intermittent probs for 2 days...yet NO DSL probs.
So, answer is, yes...probably an Auctiva problem. Busy time of year.
Happy Holidays!
