Well mine have been working just fine for quite awhile now, so thanks again Auctiva for resolving this. You guys always have to here from the complaints but no one emails to say thank you.

That's great, but they have not addressed the main issue: WHY are there NO announcements when this stuff happens, which is VERY frequently? Lovely that your pics are back...hope you're OK with more problems just before the holidays like last year and NO communication. Thank you for fixing it Auctiva, but the lack of an announcement is UNPROFESSIONAL and disrespectful. You need to do that BEFORE people freak out on the forums for days/hours.

Well, considering you don't pay for the service I think these guys do a great job. You get alot of service for no cost, except when they are done. Do the services that charge you monthly rates give you back money when their site does not work? I don't think so. If the site isn't working I just do something else. Auctiva always seems to get things back working. I think some of you just want everything and don't want to pay for it.
Is anyone else left to wonder what is going on at Auctiva. Is this site run by college freshman? Please inform users of problems so they know what to expect. All too often I am left in the dark about problems with pictures, posting, and the like. I feel that it is important for Auctiva to be more concerned with the quality of their site. They have a great thing going, but please make the improvements to make it reliable!
LOL!!! People have offered to pay to help them fix issues, that's not the point...they have a different business model, that doesn't mean they're not making money, and by all means, they should. BTW, lots of profitable services are ''free'' to some. Razz

My only question remains...why no announcements about known site issues? People need to know if an issue will last a few minutes, hours, days or weeks to plan accordingly.
No seriously, I really must wonder if Auctiva is some professors pet project that students are assigned to work on. Why else would customer response and reliability be so bad if there was an opportunity to make soooooo much money? I just don't get it. This site could be HUGE in the world of ebay. It really is too bad that so many people are "soured" when Auctiva is unreliable. WOW! Make it right for the love of God!
I have to agree with 84rms that you do get a lot of service for no cost and that Auctiva is doing a great job.

It's a fact that computers and networks go down. Who here has never lost their internet connection or had their computer lock up or drive go out on them?

That's part of the reason why I don't end auctions on weekends or holidays because if something goes down, it will usually get fixed quicker if it's durning normal business hours. You might take that into consideration when planning your auctions unless of course Saturday or Sunday is the best day to sell your particular item.

You probably already know that Auctiva cares about making sure their free service is available because they had people fixing the problems on a Sunday night.

I appreciate their hard work and offer my understanding.

good night
Really stoof? Did you read the OP? Any particular reason you can think of why there can't be any communication about problems? Sure, technical issues occur. No communication is not the norm, though, free or not. I'm not the only one who thinks so...AND there's still a problem today, but no one bothers to address it at all? Today is not a weekend of holiday!
