In regards to your question
Bidpay ceasing business..
Have you looked into either of these means:
http://www.Paystone.com
http://www.ikobo.com

I'm sorry...I'm sure the closing of the Bidpay site is going to majorly hurt your business. If I remember right, you do ALOT of business with Bidpay and overseas.

And with eBay's new policy on cash..eBay's no cash rules that's going into affect your business also.

I hear good things about both of the above.

Hope all finds you well. If anything comes up on any of the other boards I belong to, I'll pass the information on knowing it's imperative to you.

Take care, Donna

Hi guys. I just want to make a comment. I have always taken paypal for International bidders. I do ALOT of International business. So much that Bill goes to the post office daily. About 50% of his site's sales are International & a LARGE portion of mine is Canada & UK (I'm not sure how much, but I know it is alot).

I have only ever had 3 issues in years. I did have an id with thousands of transactions in addition to attire & onestopjock. Most people don't leave feedback on Bill's id due to the nature of the items. But, I assure you that if you sell clothing & require something other than paypal, you are hurting your sales. In the situation with the 3 International issues, 2 of the 3 arrived & I provided paypal with the info & the buyers repaid me.

Also, the post office CAN track your items if you do a couple things. You have to allow at least 6 weeks, or maybe 8 depending on the customs in that country. But, if you take your receipt from the desk clerk at the post office & file a form, they will locate the package. They did find a package once when Bill went thru the process. Seems the po attempted delivery & the buyer wasn't home, so the package sat in customs where it would have sat for a long time. A simple call on the buyer's end with the customs claim number would have found it, but they didn't do it. Paypal took the customs number & scanned receipt as proof of mailing before.

Do not let paypal's policy about International bidders scare you from allowing paypal. I have found in my thousands of tracnsactions Internationally, I have had great success with them arriving.

Hope that info helps some. Good to see BTPS & Donna post.
I agree with attire4less. I've had a single incident and this is with a woman from Germany who insisted (and very rudely) that she be allowed to pay through PayPal. I let her and six weeks later she claimed non-receipt. I'm doing a form 542 on her and if it comes back as being delivered I will get my funds back. She will be in deep do do. Time will tell.

Otherwise, no problems.

Now, with online international shipping labels for Priority Global Mail they're recording the customs label. I've been able to see when packages arrive internationally online via this tracking number. It's an 'online', 'electronic' tracking method. So, shouldn't it be good for PayPal? Many of my Canadian and UK buyers come up as 'confirmed'. PayPal told me most if not all 'can' come up this way if they update the appropiate information. A seller could request this update.

The only issue I've had is getting their telephone number so I can print out online shipping labels. I'm going to include this in my listing and invoice. I'm sticking with international buyers. I get too many to give them up. Unless I begin to have a big problem with them, I'll keep them.

Magie, this is very interesting to me, because almost the identical thing happened to me, also with a German buyer. What's a form 542? I'd like to try to get my money back if I can ....

What if anything do you have to submit along with the form 542?

Thanks in advance!
