This Auctiva template that I used on one of my auctions has a scroll bar at the bottom and I am trying to figure out how to remove it. I checked this template with an old auction that I had and it was fine...no scroll bar. What's wrong with my current auction with the scroll bar? I posted it on the practice board, so you can take a look. Please help, I hate that scroll bar!

Thanks Angelsblue! What is RagTag? Also what style tags are not allowed on ebay? This is an Auctiva template. I thought all their templates were ebay compliant. One more question, This same template worked just fine on another auction listing I did...just not this one. I wonder why that is? I didn't mess with it, as I know very little about template design. Thanks again!
Style tags are the ones that change link colors and such.
RagTag is a program that you can paste your html in and it will scan it for inappropriate and missing tags.
The style tags came up as 'inappropriate auction tags' that is why I mentioned it.

I still think that it could be in the images somehow. You can file a support ticket. Might be faster than waiting for a staffer to answer here.

Oh and I didn't realize that it was an Auctiva template. I haven't looked at the new ones for a while.
Hi lin25 and AngelsBlue -

I have never worked with RagTag and I wanted to let you know that our templates are eBay compliant. Whatever issue RagTag had with the style tags was obviously not a problem because the listing posted to eBay. Any code problems eBay finds before listing are reported to you and the listing fails to post. Mostly eBay has problems with certain Javascripts and HTML.

I don't know how RagTag analyzes listings but in this case, their assessment of inappropriate style tags would not be correct.

As for horizontal scroll, that is almost always a case of images being to big or addition of code that does not need to be there. Code additions come from using an HTML editor such as FrontPage. Those programs typically add unnecessary code that can cause a listing to "break".

Cara, I don't understand. Are you saying that this Auctiva template was made using Frontpage or some other such editor. This is Auctiva's Template afterall. I did not make it or modify it in anyway. My pictures have all been resized and shouldn't be the problem either. What gives? As I said previouly, this template was fine on another auction I tested it on...no scroll bar. I am just tring to find out what the problem is and if it can be fixed or not.
Hi lin25 -

We have had cases of people use FrontPage to make the description of their listing and then copying and pasting that into the description area of the listing which can cause problems.

Anyway - that is no matter if you are not using FrontPage. The main thing is that when I look at the link you posted to the practice board in Firefox the listing looks fine. There is no horizontal scroll and the listing is perfectly sized. However, on Internet Explorer 6 the listing does have the scroll.

We will take a look and get back to you!
