PLEASE HELP!!

I have been attempting to place closed auctions over into Store listings. However, when I import Closed auctions to Saved Auctions (to make s/h changes and price changes), I lose the pictures. The thumbnail is shown until I go to edit, then all of the pics disappear.

Out of 9 auctions I tried to relist in my Store, the images were missing in all of them. It was very time consuming to go thru all of the pics to find them again, and I cannot find pics for 4 of the auctions - they are nowhere to be found!! Also, the info in the Shipping Field has to be redone, as that info is missing.

What am I doing wrong?!!! These problems are very frustrating and extremely time-consuming.

TIA for your help...

Hi,

I've used Import to replace or recreate a listing I've accidently damaged or lost during cleaning. Big Grin Import usually imports everything including some repeats on pictures and even the .gif for Auctiva headers.

I'm going to make an assumption that the Listings you are Importing didn't originate from Auctiva or use Auctiva hosted images. That's the normal case for using Import, i.e. to help migrate listings to Auctiva.

If you examine the original Listings on eBay, are the pictures there? Were the pictures hosted on eBay?

eBay does have limits on retention of old listings (usually 90 days), so I'm curious if these are recent listings too.

Not sure why it would drop-out the Shipping Fields. If you can post a couple of the eBay Listing #'s for those you imported, it might help.

hi ya i am having the same problem aswell

Hi Sam,

Not sure what's actually happening on your Relists. Relist (even done through Auctiva) is basically an eBay function, so it should retain the pictures. Confused

I'm aware of members having problems uploading pictures over 1MB in size to Auctiva. And, I'm aware that some are reporting problems seeing pictures at eBay, i.e. they don't show for some and do actually show for others.

That later problem was tracked to one member's home Router needing a setting adjustment to work correctly with their ISP in the UK, ORANGE. Apparently, a fairly recent change with ORANGE ISP to cause the problem.

Why Relist and/or Import of pictures is failing is a mystery.

I would consider opening a Support Case with Auctiva to let them know.

This is the first time I have opened up since joining. I can not get to list a support request it just time out. My problem is importing a closed listing to saved listings and then editing them. The list OK but when I clck edit the WHOLE of the closed listing is in the description panel of itself. How do I get it out so I can work on it. Dusty
Good Morning, Danno!

Yes, some of the auctions in question were imported from Channel Advisor several months ago when I joined Auctiva, but have not had a major problem with them until now. Also have the pictures and the S/H info disappear on several auctions originating on Auctiva when I edit.

Maybe there is another way to edit Closed Auctions before sending them to eBay Store? I go into Closed Auctions, and in order to edit, I click the Import Listings button which sends the Closed Auction to Saved Auctions for editing. In Saved Auctions, I click on edit and the pics disappear (sometimes never to be found again), and the info in the Shipping field also needs replacing.
The pictures appear in the auction description, but the thumbnail and pic urls are blank. I even tried listing an auction where the pics could not be found in Auctiva (although I have relisted several times with no pic loss problem), and got a message that I needed a gallery pic.

Here are two of the auctions which were originally imported from Channel Advisor and listed/relisted several times thru Auctiva. Fortunately, I eventually did find the pics so I could replace them on the edit page. The other auctions where I could not find pics I have not listed (although the pics are visible when I click on an old auction number) as I'm hoping someone can tell where to find them.

The auctions were I finally found the pics are 200237284134 and 200237286467. One of the auctions where I cannot locate the pics after editing has not been listed, but an old auction # is 200217902669.

Thanks for your time…

Jo
Jo,

I've never tried to Import listings with pictures hosted at other than eBay or Auctiva, so I'm wondering if pictures hosted at Channel Advisor is the cause or at least the common issue with your problem. Confused

If you go to eBay and search the listing number for the Closed listing you can see the pictures, e.g. 200217902669. I did a right mouse click and checked their properties to see they are hosted at Channel Advisor. You can do the same and select Save picture to store them back to your desktop. It's at least a work-around for the missing ones.

Still don't know why it would drop Shipping info, unless some eBay policy change now conflicts with use. I know that US policy will require at least one shipping method/carrier by the end of July, but I don't see that on 200217902669.

Hi all, Thanks for your response. I can not get into the lodge support request, heaven only knows why. My listingas are all via Auctiva. Late last night Sydney time I played around with another listing I wanted to modify, and delete one pix,I imported the listing to saved listings ok. Clicked on the description panel, [this is where listing appears, inside itself], keyed down through the template to the descripption, high lighhted it,copied,to M/Soft Clip board. Then Cntrl+A to select all the listing in the description panel and deleted it. Pasted the description back into its spot and then edited it, deleted 1 pix and uploaded a new one. Posted to eBay. AH!! it worked, but a lot of time involved as Auctiva has deceided it is on a go slow strike. Bit messy but it worked Ok but still took about half the time of a complete new listing to fix. Hooray for forums.
