When are you listing your fall apparel? I was thinking of starting, Monday, August 28th. The lighter fall apparel like denim jackets, jeans and so forth. It's difficult to gear up for listing this stuff when it is still 100 degrees outside. However, I know other states begin to cool off some. Also, buyers purchase early.

Okay, let me know your game plan.

Thanks!

I was shooting for that week, too for getting my fall and winter clothing up.

However, there are two things that are either spurring me to upload sooner or later.

Ebay store fee's are changing (everybody heard, right? ha) on the 22nd, and that has me thinking I should put my clothing items up. Those can ride out for 30 days for the lower price..right?

Or I will be holding off till the week after Labor Day and will put those items up as BIN.

And to throw another thought out there..I'm wondering how many persons are going to be around Labor Day weekend shopping. (I know, I know..it's amazing how many folks are online shopping Christmas, T'giving etc.)

Thoughts? Will Labor Day weekend have persons staying home or traveling? Will the heat wave keep people from putting themselves into crowded tourist destinations? With gas prices being high be a factor and the choice will be to kick back at home?

So I'm kinda watching for indications here and there.

Overanalyzing,
Donna
As a buyer, here is my 2 cents....I am buying fall stuff now... for my kids. We have shorts/short sleeve weather until early October, sometimes later. I dont buy them new clothes for that weather, I am buying pants and long sleeves. Why buy new clothes for school that they can wear for less than a month and then they probably wont fit come spring! I hardly ever buy myself new clothes, so I cant say about adult clothes! Plus, with gas being so high (I think CT is the highest in the nation???) I am not sure how many people are going to be going far for the labor day weekend.

Suthrnjewl & megnsamsgrace,

It doesn't cool off here until right before Halloween. Most times, the second week of October. Hmmmm, what to do....

I was thinking of loading up my eBay Store to grab the 30 days before the price increase as well. However, I think I am going to spend extra time working on my 'About Me' page linking to a CityMax website. Get a CM website up and running, my "About Me page and listing template geared to the CM website and then close my eBay Store. These are my thoughts.

It will be A LOT of hard work and take A LOT of time but I think it will be worth it in the long run. I'm not going to load up my eBay Store before the price hike for these reasons.

Okay, I'll start that week, on the 31st which will end on the 7th, a Thursday. Plenty of time to recover from the holiday. Thanks for reminding me of the holiday, Donna.

Smile
I was reading the store boards on Ebay and they were saying that only the current insertion fees will be honored before the price hike. The new FVF will apply to anything sold in the store after the 22nd. In other words many of us myself included were going to do a mass relist before the 22nd to get at least 30 more days at the current fees. There is alot of confusion between GTC and 30 day listings. You might want to check it out though prior to relisting all items back to the store. I am already listing my fall clothing right along with my summer stuff just to try to get it in the store.

This is what I have found --- and it has not changed since the announcement was put out. IT still appears that way in the announcement --

These Store Inventory format insertion fees take effect Aug. 22, 2006:

Starting Price New Insertion Fee Current Fee

$0.01 – 24.99 5¢ 2¢
$25.00 – and higher
10¢ 2¢

Some Store Inventory format final value fees also will increase, effective Aug. 22, 2006:

Selling Price New Final Value Fee Current Fee

$0.01 – 25.00 10% 8%
$25.01 – 100.00
7% 5%
$100.01 – 1,000.00 5% (no change) 5%
$1,000.01 and higher 3% (no change) 3%

Please note that for current listings, the new final value fees will apply only after these listings are renewed.

It's still in the orginal announcement
http://www2.ebay.com/aw/core/200607.shtml
currnetly about half way down the page

AS FOR THE GTC -- they RENEW every 30 days = same as a new listing.

Moral of the story is - don't like the answer you get from one ebay staff member, just ask another.
They will have a hard time NOT HONORING this this it's in the words of Bill Cobb himself. Not to mention posted all of the media and other places.

Screen print it --- as ebay is known to go in and reword things.

SmileGood Morning, and I am the first one to admit that I may be posting this in the wrong thread--but, who cares, I just need some help! Donna, a great mentor, better known as Suthernjewl, gave me some search engines to list with, but, I have been told that since I don't have a store and website that my domain name and keyword descriptions would not show up in these search engines. I need to know if this is true or not. I am lost!

Betty,

I'm sorry I hadn't answered your email. Time seems be elusive to me as of late.

Submit to Google, Yahoo & Msn to start.

I'll see if I can find a list like you're needing. I don't have it but I'll do some searches.

It won't be today..maybe by the end of the weekend.

Take care, Donna

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they are Jett.

I'm trying to get some items into my store before the 22nd. Then let everything ride out until September. Then positively those items should be coming off the shelves of eBay..don't you think?

Good Luck,
Donna

It's about that time. I usually start to reappear about now on a low scale then hit big the last week of August so things are closing after Labor Day.

I too have started early with loading up my almost empty store before the price increase.
