Mad I am having a massive issue here trying to list items! When I complete my listings, I double check the error thing and run an error check. Which then in turn comes out fine-according to Autiva. Yet when I click the Post button, it says it's scheduled to immediately post to Ebay yet when I go to Ebay to check it, it's not there(very unusual as normally it's there)and then when I return to Auctiva, I have the following error API message: The length of the description has exceeded the maximum limit. I've contacted auctiva about this and they say it's an Ebay thing. I contact Ebay via Live Chat, told them what's going on, get totally disconnected(GRRR!)and so I called the 800# on Ebay for their stores thing. I told them what's going on and the situation and they said there's no maximum limit for the description and that it's an AUCTIVA thing! Someone PLEASE HELP ME! I can't list a single thing due to this! I don't know what it is! This is the only error message I get: The length of the description has exceeded the maximum limit. That's it. No matter how short or long the listing is. Please help me-dear goodness it's only costing me $$$$ now not being able to list now for the 2nd day(technically the 3rd)day straight! Please, PLEASE HELP ME~! Thanks to anyone who can help and Auctiva, I've loved y'all since I first found you-PLEASE DON'T LET ME DOWN!!!!!

Thanks Danno,
I'll give that a try. I PRAY something works!

Vitara,
I know what you're talking about but this is the same title and such that I've used for many, many previous listings. That's why it threw me off. I did check my item specifics too and it's only 'new' that's in there. However I did add Paper cardstock, scrapbooking to it and that is the same for some of my other previous listings as well that listed just fine. I don't know.

Danno, I'll do that and I did hear from Ebay again and they said there was a max of 500,000 character limit. I don't believe I've gone that far with the character limits, but gosh only knows as my other listings like I said listed fine prior to this.
I'm around all day.

When you copy the code to the practiceboard, use the "see HTML" button. It will display the page and will also give you a semi-permanent link to your stored page. That's what the /?####### string means.

Edit: Just saw your post on the error. That does suggest the code has a problem. Sounds like a loop error of some sort, like Javascripting would do.
Hi Danno,
Dang, I didn't know that. Funny thing about it is that the only thing that I created in the Word doc(Dang Micro&^%$!)is the tables for all the Payment, Shipping, Combined Shipping, Int. Shipping, etc. I created a table for each one, then copied the tables into my description of the Auctiva listing. Funny thing is that it worked several times previously(see my other listings)and I just revised one of my other listings and it worked fine. Plus, the listing I have for an adhesive cartridge, I pasted the tables into the auctiva listing. It listed fine on Saturday(Nov. 1st)with no problems as it's always listed that way. So what do I do now. Dang....this bums me out!
Hi,

If you've created tables etc. with Word and still have the file saved, try opening and saving the file in Word, but use "Save As" and select HTML. That might convert it correctly and preserve the "look".

I have used Word and done a few HTML saves. I don't know 100% if that will work, but it's at least worth a try before recreating it in HTML.

Danno
I compose the description in Auctiva, the only thing I paste into my listings are the tables which like I said worked fine for my cartridges as well as 99.9% of my listings up until now. The tables is the only thing I copied from the MW doc to paste into the descriptions, everything else was added through Auctiva in the description part.
A couple of thoughts:

An API error is definitely generated by Ebay. Lately the API error reason is sometimes not at all related to the real reason Ebay is rejecting the Ad.

I paste and stick the entire description from Word into Auctiva. I'd give that a shot--table and description.

If that doesn't work, trying loading the ad without the table. Then go into ebay and edit your listing by inserting the table. You'll hopefully find out what if anything is causing the reject and get it directly from ebay.

Good luck
