Greetings. After just spending over an hour with EBay support in live-chat. They tell me I need to contact Auctive and have them turn something on so that people who do not have a PayPal account can not bid on my auctions, when I have the buyer requirements on EBay set to not allow them to? Anyone got any idea how to do this or what to ask Auctiva Support for?

Any help would be appreciated Smile

Hi jlslife,

Your Auctiva created listings should contain the "Paypal Account Required" option as long as your eBay accoutn preferences are configured to block bidders who do not have a Paypal account. If this is not the case, please file a support request regarding this issue using the appropriate link on our help page:

Hello Everyone! I have received the following reply from Auctiva Support.
"Hello,

I appreciate you bringing this to our attention. I have brought this issue up to our QA department and they will begin conducting testing in attempt to reproduce this issue. At this time, this specific support case is the only report we have received regarding this issue so we will not be addressing it until we receive more reports, or our QA department is able to replicate the problem. I will follow up with you as soon as I receive further information regarding this issue.

We apologize for the inconvenience asnd we appreciate your patience with regard to this matter."

What I am hoping for is that anyone else out there with this problem will report it to Auctiva Support so we can get this problem solved.
Thanks so much.
Forgot to put in what I wrote to support:

What has happened is this: on January 20th a person without a PayPal account bid on and won the above item. I have my EBay prefferances set to not allow non-PayPal bidders, and in the auction I created here I only had the pay with PayPal option checked. I talked with EBay tech support and they said that because I was using Auctiva to list my auctions, that there was something you needed to turn on? To only allow bidders with a PayPal account to bid. I ONLY want to accept bids from Persons with a PayPal account, so can you please do whatever is needed, or tell me what I need to do.

Also I am not showing the "Paypal Account Required" option on my listings? I do have my EBay Prefferances set to only allow bidders with a Paypal account.

Thanks, Jerry
Hi Jerry & Others,

We are in the process of determining whether this issue is due to a "bug" in our system or if it was an isolated occurrence. If anyone else has his/her eBay selling preferences set to block buyers who don't have a Paypal account, and your Auctiva created listings are not displaying the "Paypal Account Required" message, please file a support request using the appropriate link on our help page:

I had the same problem (although I didn't know it until someone actually did not want to use Paypal). This is probably why they are not receiving more trouble tickets.

I submitted mine this morning for events that occurred Jan 8.

My ticket said: A person w/o a PayPal account bid on and won 3 items on Jan8. My eBay preferences are set to block, but Auctiva did not block; therefore she won. It was a huge mess because she insisted on money order. I now see my two new auctions also don't have Paypal required. I didn't really notice until I had a problem and I think this is why you are not receiving more tickets.

Anyway, I will keep an eye on this forum. Thanks for starting it as I thought it was something I was doing incorrectly.

Well.. you can consider this your second request then. I've just never brought it up because i thought it was just one of those things that Auctiva didn't have the capability for yet (like the immediate payment feature).

In my eBay seller preference profile I'm set up to only list with PayPal member to bid option by default.. and I DO always check any kind of such boxes in Auctiva but to be quite honest.. don't know if I see any.

After my listing is posted.. I always have to go into eB's revise GUI and tick off the appropriate boxes again.

Keep in mind that asking for immediate payment on a BIN item automatically makes eB tick the "must be a PP member to bid" box for you.. but it doesn't work the other way around.. even IN eBay.

When you click the "pay with PayPal" option you ARE NOT excluding non-PP members from bidding (maybe Auctiva doesn't understand this as well). you are simply giving the winning bidder the option OF paying by PayPal. Therein lies your problem.. and you are correct.

There hasn't been an option in Auctiva that allows you to exclude non-PP bidders. Not as far as i've ever seen. A couple of months ago when I joined Auctiva I went into the forum archives and did a search and found one guy asking the same question.

The reply given to him at the time.. led me to believe he was being misunderstood in the same way you are. So I simply forgot it.. moved on.. and have been manually revising every one of my auctions within eBay and through their revision GUI.. ever since.

I truly believe that this option in Auctiva currently doesn't exist. Even though it's been an eB auction for some time now.. I don't believe it's been noticed here.. much like the "immediate payment" one as well.
I've had the same issue..

The issue is, is that on your ebay preferences when the box is ticked which says something to the effect of 'do not allow bidders without a paypal account' that all listings posted through auctiva should have this option reflected once it is submitted into ebay.

There is a bug however which does not recognize this setting when the listings are sent from auctiva through to ebay (at least this happens to me as well as the above posters).

I sent in a request awhile ago but I don't think anything can be done with the current version of Auctiva.

So as far as Auctiva listings SHOULD go, the option of not allowing NON paypal mebers to bid is a setting in ebay (not Auctiva) and ebay is supposed to apply that to listings received from auctiva which it doesnt for whatever reason.
What I do to circumvent this issue is after auctiva listings have gone through to ebay, go into your ebay preferences, click checkbox on apply to all open listings (in the area in ebay where you also have 'do not allow non paypal bidders to bid' checked) and it will give all your newly imported active listings from auctiva that option of not allowing non paypal members to bid.

You just have to remember to do that whenever you have new listings from auctiva posted into ebay.
