Hi John,

Thanks for contributing to our forum. Our uploaders will typically compress each image file a bit during the upload process, resulting in a decrease in file size, and I am uncertain why your images may reflect larger file sizes once uploaded into your Auctiva account than on your hard drive.

If you are still encountering this behavior, please contact our Customer Support team directly from under the “Help” tab within your account and we will be happy to continue working with you on this.

We would need to have you email us a couple of the image files in question as attachments to see if we encounter the same behavior when uploading the images from our end, and hopefully we could figure out what is going on from there.

Hi John,

Thanks for filing a support ticket about this as I requested. Although it is not currently possible for you to add these files to your support case from your end, I have just responded to your case with an email address which you can send the image files to as attachments.

The file size that is reflected in the "Size" field on your Image Management page for a given image should reflect the amount of space that the full size (or "supersized") version of the image occupies within your account.

Hi John,

You're very welcome.

However, the dimensions of the full size (or "supersized") versions of your images should never be greater than they were prior to uploading them so I don't believe that would explain why you are seeing the 30% file size increase you described.

As such, I would still be interested in looking into this further if you email me a couple of the original image files with which you have experienced this behavior. Perhaps I just due not have a full understanding of the true nature of your report.

I hope you have a great New Year's as well!

-Mike
