I am going crazy with this problem!! No matter where I am, I keep getting sent to the home page. I am signed in, but it will send me to the sign in page. Even after trying like ten times and getting into a listing, the category stuff will send me to the home page. The images thing will send me there. I am spending litterally hours just to do one listing!! I contacted support, and they gave me the cleaner for cookies. I did that, and still have the problem. Everything was working fine, then about a week ago, all he!! broke lose with this. I need some advice quick before I hit my computer with a baseball bat! Thanks

Me again, I had done the AOL computer checkup, and it recommended the browser to allow cookies, since it was blocking all cookies. So I had done that, but it didn't help. So before I took a baseball bat to the computer, I shut down and rebooted. Low and behold it fixed my problem!! so no need to help me now. Maybe someone else will have the same problem and see the fix. I feel dumb!

I LOVE using Firefox browser or Opera.
The browsers are much tighter and more responsive and faster.

Helpful hint, Always use an outside browser besides AOL. You'll be amazed at how much easier everything is.

Both of the above browsers are free downloads and work great.

I can't imagine having the problem you did for two weeks. I'd have been hot under the collar. I guess you're a perfect example of perserverance and the rewards. <smile>

Don't forget you can always post a customer ticket for support and your question will be answered.

Take care, Donna
This is AOL.

You need to minimize AOL and use an internet browser. That's the E that's on your desktop.

Put this into the address line:
http://www.auctiva.com

You will be at the home page, sign in and as long as you don't GO through AOL you should be fine.

It's the AOL browser and service that won't allow you to use the service the correct way. Once you use the internet explorer you'll find that you can easily navigate the site.

Hi Donna, the weird thing about Auctiva support, is that the first time they said that they were doing some maintenance or something like that, and appologized and said it would be working again soon. So the second time I contacted them they said I needed to clear the temporary internet files and cookies, and gave me the link to the Easy Cleaner. I did that, and it didn't help a bit. (I always cleared out the temporary files at least four times a week anyway.) So the third time I contacted them (whew!! tired by now), they must have figured out that I have AOL, and they told me to use the Internet Explorer or that Firefox that I. So at that point, all I did was click on the E and put in the Auctiva website home address, and tried it, and it was great. I just felt so dumb for going through that for so long. I have a lot of patience with computers, but I was very tired of it by the time I posted my problem in this forum! Anyway, I may try the Firefox to see how good it is, since you recommend it so highly. I was aprehensive to try Firefox since I didn't know anything about it, and the E was right there on my task bar! I see you're in Lakeland, and I am not that far from you, it's nice to see someone who isn't too far away. Thanks for the advice.
To Reward, I didn't actually minimize AOL, I just clicked on the E on the task bar. You'll of course have to have AOL running, and I kind of like that the internet explorer runs at the same time, and you can use the forward and back button without affecting what is happening on AOL, for instance, I have my ebay page on while doing the Auctiva stuff, and if I need to move back, it won't change my page on AOl. Did that make sense? Anyway, it has relieved so much pressure, I had been sent to the home page even when trying to pick categories, or images, it was the most frustrating thing!!! So glad it's over, and hopefully you are doing okay with it as well. I too have just the dial up AOL (I'm on a dirt road and can't get anything out here!) and know that it's bad enough having slow internet without adding to the frustration with malfunctioning internet!

I agree totally.
I want the internet the way I want the internet..not the way an ISP says I have to have it or use it.

I'd do juno/netzero/peoplepc or something besides that ISP.

The email constraints are horrendous getting emails to their subscribers. Whenever there is a problem with email? 99.9% of the time...I only have to look at the ISP...AOL.
I can't believe how great this site runs on FireFox Big Grin

I was so used to using IE cause the other place didn't support FF, well it worked if you were a mouse with a tiny keyboard and tiny type that would fit in the tiny boxes!

I started using Auctive in IE as well out of habit, well I was plesently suprised to come here in FF one day and WOW its so much faster then IE and not one problem as of yet.

<knocks on wood>

I honestly don't know why anyone would use AOHELL dial-up and for the price you can get Verizon DSl now for only $14.95. Even when I had dial up I had highstream.com which was dirt cheep and worked great Wink

Oh yes, Doesn't it work GREAT in FF? Try it in Opera also...really smooth working. You can tell these folks know what they are doing and MUST know proper coding.

I got the RSS Feed to work on my Yahoo 360, Did you see? Pretty KEWL! And yours is feeding into mine really well as well as Ironchicks and everyones..isn't this diversifying great?

Hope you had fun at the park yesterday.

Take care, Donna

Okay, here is my reason for using the AOL dial-up. I live on a dirt road, and cannot get ANYTHING other than dial-up. I have tried, and continue to try, but for now, all I can have is dial-up! Oh, and Verizon told my neighbor across the dirt road that he could have the Verizon DSL, and even charged him for the start up kit, and now five months later, and his loss of numerous hours of time and work, they admit that he can't get it! (Which I had told him since I had checked into every possible way to get a high speed connection.) So in the defense of those of us who are without, it could be that we have no choice. So in the meantime we deal with AOL Hell.
Time Out!

Have you thought of Netzero or Juno or PeoplePC or Copper.net?

All of those are half the price and don't have near the restrictions of AOL plus they have twice as many connect numbers so you don't get booted as often. (I hear that's still a problem with that and AOL)

I can do dialup via my cable modem/road runner service. I can still do the internet the way I want to and not have so many restrictions and half the price to boot!

Take care, Donna
