Again, I have heard 0 people who have had this happen. I think you are wasting your time. It's sad that a simple rumor has this cause on sellers. The way eBay has people in fear like this is shameful.

Here is the UK thread, read the whole thread. The seller does not know why their listing was ended. Why do we have 20 million counters on eBay and then this 1 seller has 1 listing ended and everyone goes crazy?

It's irresponsible for people to be saying these things like a few of the posters above have, with zero facts and without confirming anything. They are only adding to the problem.
With the counters in 20 million listings believe me I'd know if eBay didn't want them. They wouldn't resort to killing 1 listing at a time, they'd have their lawyers call me. They did this once in 2001 for something else. This was before they had the API, the developers program, or certified providers. We use all those now and work with them before we do anything to avoid something like this happening.
Thank you for the responses Jeff.
My question was also answered very quickly when I put in a Support request.

Looking on the Ebay Boards there is a lot of fear, anger and frustration about recent changes within Ebay UK.
Something like this coming along just tends to "Light the blue touch paper".
It doesn't help that someone rang Ebay for guidance and were told that the Links ARE illegal under Ebay rules. Post #67 HERE

If Ebay would come and give us something in writing (as you have done) on the Boards it would help everyone concerned.

I love the Auctiva Software but I do feel worried about using it now.
Also, you can't get rid of Kickitback on already Listed Auctions. Even if you Edit out the Counter it still appears if a potential buyer clicks on the Auction Image to get an enlarged view.
I have also tried to say No Counter, but still the Kick It Back counter is on my listings. I checked NO everywhere I could find except one place that said hidden (but that was not Kick It Back). Is there a solution yet for this? When a lot of folks are saying they've already checked No Counter and the only response is, "Go check off No Counter," there must be a problem somewhere.

Thanks in advance.
First let me say that I have "breezed" over these posts. I have only used Auctive a few times and admit I have alot to learn about the service. My question is not about my listing being pulled but about why the KIB counter appeared on my eBay created auction? I went into ebay and requested No counter and refreshed and that took away the ebay counter (at the top) but teh KIB counter was still there. Like I said - I did not even create this particular auction using Auctive, so how is it that an Auctiva counter made its way into this auction? Any info is appreciated. Thanks!!
I've yet to see a single ended listing from this and we do 20 million counters. There is that one rotten thread on the ebay.UK boards that have spawned this whole mess. And even that listing was taken down for an unknown reason. It's silly to assume this is the reason given that we're in 20 million listings and eBay picks that 1 listing, and only it?????

Even if 1 person had 1 listing ended I doubt that would mean much more than an over zealous eBay support person not knowing what they're doing.

eBay rarely puts things in writing. Sorry. I just don't see a low level message board pink putting any type of such statement up. They always like to hedge. It's pathetic, but that's the way it is.

Literally everything we do requires written approval from them, but guess how often we've received that in 10 years? Oh they'll tell you over the phone or in person. But they almost never write it down. Cover their a**. That company is all politics and nobody there wants to say anything that could get them in trouble with anyone else. It's asinine.
Jeff,

I really appreciate your polite responses to the eBay issue with the counter that others are having, but is there a way to get rid of the counter?

As I said above, I've checked No everywhere I can find and that hasn't worked. I posted here rather than doing a help ticket because it seemed to be a common issue others were having.

Thanks again. All the people I've dealt with in my very brief time with Auctiva have been just fabulous. You have great CS.
Over the past 3 - 4 days I have been selecting 'hidden' counters. I assumed these were 'friendly' counters, just like ebay counters or something. So I just went to one of my auctions to see how they look. Not bad, I was OK w/ it until I went to register w/ kickitback.com

I was all registered (99%) and then I read their terms of service. A few parts I did not like so I am not going to register afterall. This is what I didn't like:

Fees and Payment
KickItBack reserves the right to charge fees for certain services. KickItBack further reserves the right to alter any and all fees and cash rewards from time to time, without notice. (without notice??)

The information collected may include the following: email, name, IP address, browser information and more. Any comments or questions you submit are recorded as well. Also, comments about you as a seller or buyer will be collected and may be viewable by other clients. Collection of information takes place at various times while navigating KickItBack’s site and using its software. When entering KickItBack’s site, information may be collected about previous sites the person has viewed.

So, this is in effect SPYWARE as well. As soon as that Internet Explorer 8 comes out I will download and install that and NO ONE will be able to see what sites I've viewed!
But Jeff, you know eBay has the perogative to change their minds at any time!

So when they do, how does Auctiva plan to remove 20,000,000 counters?

I mean, I have that I accept checks and money orders in all my 900 store items/auctions and now I have to remove all those ONE BY ONE or get shut down!

And this ain't the first time something like this has happened. 2 years ago I had over 1,000 items shut down because it stated that I accepted CASH (which you USED to be allowed to say in your auctions) but eBay CHANGED THIER MIND.
Is there any way to simply activate the eBay counter on a Listing as opposed to using the kick it back counter?

Currently I am selection "no counter" in the Auctiva setup and then logging in to eBay to manually revise each Listing to add the default counter there.

Is there a selection within the Auctiva Listing editor that I am unaware of that will invoke the eBay default counter when listed?
OK, so apparently there is absolutely NO WAY to list an item without the Kick It Back counter showing up. I selected " No Counter" thinking that I would simply manually add the eBay basic counter after the item went up, but when I went to the active listing the KIB counter was there. Remember, I selected "No Counter" option in the Auctiva setup and I still got the KIB counter in the Listing. What the heck am I doing wrong? Can anyone help me with this please? At this point all I want is to simply not have the KIB counter included on the active Listing and I will manually add the eBay counter since it is apparently not able to be invoked from Auctiva.
