From what I have been able to find, there is NO charge what so ever to use Auctiva. I can use their image hosting instead of mine, no charge, I can list using one of their templates, no charge, I can use their check out system, no charge, I set up a store, again no charge. Auctiva only get money if I have a customer that opts for shipping insurance, or I make insurance required.

Do I have all of this correct? If so, I'm off to list!

Heidi, do you mean you're writing your own HTML? Is that just text formatting then? If so, what you need to do is create a new listing in Auctiva, then in the Description Editor, on the top left there is a link that says "Text Mode". Click that and you can enter HTML. Then you can finish customizing your new listing and select the template of your choice.
I am VERY new with using Auctiva and although I can and do appreciate the fact that Auctiva is free and has many advantages, I also have been very frustrated with using it as well.
If you don't know html and how to use it, then you are in serious trouble if you need to edit the item description after it's posted.

Also, I have learned to create the item description in Word and then cut and paste into Auctiva, to include spell check prior to cut and paste. You can do the cosmetic editing once it's pasted into Auctiva. Otherwise, if you click to post (or any other actions that requires re-connection to Auctiva) and the page times out, then you may find yourself retyping the full description. Also, if this happens the setting for your new listing, (if using the create similar listing) may revert back to the old listing and you could find yourself posting a listing with incorrect listing prices, shipping and handling and etc. I have had this happen numerous times.
Listing with Auctiva for the most part is not difficult and has many great features that I like, but it's not user friendly if you need to revise listings.
Just my two cents worth.
Hi LillianS, there's actually a much easier way to revise a listing. Go to your saved listings, open the one you want to revise up, make your changes, and save it. Then go back to the Saved Listings page, and put a checkmark beside your newly revised saved listing. Then go to the top of the page, and click "Get HTML" (second to last blue button in the top row). Copy the whole HTML code, go to ebay, open the revise page, and delete all the old code and paste in the new.
If your description page in Auctiva is timing out prematurely, you might have a problem I can usually work on a listing for up to 30 mins before I have to sign out. An Auctiva member gave a great suggestion to see if your page has timed out before you click save, schedule or post. Just click on one of the image boxes like you want to add a new image, and when select image window pops up, if you've timed out you'll see the login page instead. You can then log back in, close that windows and click save on your listing.
Hi Lillian,

Most revisions can be done easily through eBay’s “Revise Your Item” form by choosing to edit the appropriate section of the listing. If you would like to edit part of the description, be sure to click “Edit Description” followed by the “Standard” tab on the editor to exit html mode.

The revisions that cannot be done directly through eBay’s “Revise your Item” form are changing templates and rearranging/adding/removing images within a template. To make these types of revisions, please proceed with the following steps:

1) Locate your listing in your Saved Listings folder, make any necessary changes, and save.
2) Check the box next to your updated listing in your Saved Listings folder and click the “Get html” button.
3) Select All and copy the html in the popup window.
4) Locate the item on eBay and click the "Revise Item" button.
5) Click "Edit Description" then click the "Enter your own html" tab above the description editor.
6) Delete the html that is already there and then paste the copied html in its place and save you changes.

I hope this information proves useful. If you have any further questions or concerns, please file a support request using the appropriate link on our help page:

Thanks for the reply. Seems like going around you're elbow to get to your thumb, but if it works I'll try most anything. Smile

I am wondering if there is a reason My listings are too wide when I send to e-bay. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way to fix them other than changing each line in HTML?

I was also wondering where on my e-bay pages, e-bay store or e-bay listing pages it was possible to "slip" my Auctiva Store in. It looks so much cooler than the e-bay store.
