This is a followup from earlier. I have tried REPEATEDLY to fix my problem, but...no go. I save my writeups in Word and 'import' them. I followed MIKE's direction and used the 'Word Copy/Paste'. HOWEVER, it still is screwing up! I will preview it or use "Full Size" and even after fixing it there, spacing, format and even placement is wrong. Do other people just type everything into Auctiva without a 'copy'? It took me 20 minutes to list one thing...and that's normal. But, not right. HELP!

Hi, I went through this problem when I first started using Auctiva too. Nothing advised helped. Plus whenever I would copy & paste, an Auctiva window pops up and wants to "clean" my copied stuff. If I say yes, all of the content disappears! I haven't figured out how to bypass this either. What you described even happens when I copy from older Auctiva listings. Here's what I'm doing now. I created a "Seller Details" profile - Profiles tab, middle of right side of page & click on the question mark. It will walk you through creating the profile. This is the only profile I use. I then created a dummy listing, selected a template and typed in all of the repetitive info that wasn't in the seller details profile and saved it. Whenever I go to create a listing I check the box beside the dummy listing and click on "create similar".
This has helped me save some time. However, this is just a way around the problem, not a solution. It really would be nice to be able to import verbage created in Word or Office Word exactly how it was created. Hope this is of some help.
I am not sure if this will help, but when I copy and paste from Word, there is a little box that shows up, just below the frame where I paste my text, and it reads, “ Ignore Font Face Definitions”

I UN-Check that box.

My stuff then shows up in the Auctiva Item Description box in the font and layout that I carried over from Word.

I don’t know what the “Ignore Font Face..” means.

It would be nice to have a little mouse-over feature, or some way to have options explained. Regardless, my text carries over when I un-check that box, which is set by Auctiva to be checked.

(Again, if someone could explain what that box means that would be helpful, in case I have to use it for a reason in the future).
Thanks Quest Sales, I'm going to try your suggestion, A really good reason I like to do my listings in something other than Auctiva's editor is because I've lost countless listings due to Auctiva glitches and it's really tiresome to have to retype everything over & over. Windmill, can someone who doesn't know how to do html use this netscape composer?
There are free WYSIWYG composers, like Mozilla's Editor (and I think that Netscape's program is based off of the Mozilla program).

Look for a free WYSIWYG html program on the net. What these programs will do is:You type everything in, create your document in a Word (for example) format, and then the program converts *that* to HTML for you. You can then copy and paste that HTML into where ever. It takes the HTML learning curve way down to next to nothing because the program coverts everything you want to say in to HTML for you.

I don't have much cause to use HTML, but I also haven't had to edit an Auctiva listing while it is running.
Thanks for your ideas folks. I absolutely agree that something 'more' needs to be done. One of the great things about Auctiva (I hoped!) was that it was actually QUICKER than ebay's Turbo or anything like that. However, I haven't found that yet. But, LOVE the price! Any Auctiva techs listening? Wanta give it another shot? Again Katrinka, Windmill and Quest... your info is great! Thanks for taking time to 'talk'. Vince
