Listing titles change when saved and other problems

Having similar problems. I revise a item description and save, then go into the listing again - nothing has changed. Also the previews are not working, or rather are only working occasionally.

An unrelated issue: In the item description editor, sometimes the "insert line" button works, sometimes not. It's worked on and off for the last year or so.

Just had a very helpful reply from customer support.

My problems were somehow caused by some corruption of my profiles caused by an old Auctiva editor. I hadn't realised that Auctiva have a new better editor that I should have been using.

To change to the new (better) editor, go to "My Account", "Account Preferences" and mark the check-box for Use Design Editor v2.0.

What happened to me David was that at some recent date my browser was updated from Internet Explorer 8 to Internet Explorer 9. I don't remember upgrading it, but I suppose I must have done, unless Microsoft does that sort of thing automatically.

And the old editor doesn't seem to be compatible with IE9, and all sorts of weird things were happening with my listings (changes not saved, weird previews, etc.). As soon as I changed to the new editor, everything worked perfectly again.

Your problems sound similar to mine, so updating the editor is worth trying. And it's certainly a better editor, so worth changing anyway.

I think a better question would be to ask support why the old editor isn't automatically updated and replaced.

Is there a benefit for anyone in using the dated editor? That is a legitimate question. If there is I can understand the need for options.

If there is none, why doesn't auctiva just do away with the old ones so folks don't have to suffer through these issues.

I totally agree. If there is a difference, the two editors should be label for the version of IE that you are using.
