My listings wont show on e-bay?? HELP

Hi Lisa1301 this is a common problem when using a 3rd party listing program like Auctiva. Basically eBay automatically pulls your auctions from search until they are sure no one hijacked your account. they should reappear in about 4 hours. They should still show in your My eBay.

Thanks Steve. It seems to have sorted itself now, but I can see what you're saying as to why e-bay wait.
Now I'm having problems with images! And I thought they said this was simple! lol

lisa-I am a newbie too-(thanks to turbo2 horrors). Anyhow, go to ranchoweb.com, find irfanview, and see the tutorial (SIMPLE!!!!)by NK Tower. It worked for me, and is free. Good luck! laurellee

Does this happen everytime you list or just the first time? I don't mind new listings taking awhile to show. But what about all the old stuff that is already listed? Do those get pulled and checked everytime I list something new through Auctiva?

Hi, all items get pulled temporarily and it only happens at the time of joining Auctiva (seems Auctiva still do not tell new clients ), once you account is deemed ok (i.e. not hijacked) all reappears and then you only get the indexing delay occuring to newly submitted listings

Probably best to join Auctiva a day or two after your prime time sales day, some don't and get justifiably upset when all listings are pulled as they are finishing, no refunds either

Thanks..Glad to here it doesn't happen everytime. Would make it kinda useless to use Auctiva if it did.

Yes it would be pretty useless, guess they would not have lasted very long.

Still do not know why Auctiva will not warn potential clients as this has been going on for many months, maybe longer and giving those that decide to use them near heart attacks, not very good PR in my book.

I have some ongoing listings on ebay when I joined auctiva. Now 5 of them have less than 3 hour befor they end, and they do not show on ebay, just on my-ebay!
What a joke!

I joined and activated auctiva more than 24 hours ago, still notting on ebay!

Hi, assuming that Auctiva are still not warning potential clients before joining I suggest that you file an annoyed support 'request' this has been going on a long time and is effectively ignored by the powers that be on here.

Auctiva and thier support is excellent in most cases but this repeated scenario is disgusting.

Hm, abouth a half hour before they ended, they wen visible again.

ChooChooGuy, You've suggested Auctiva give a warning in numerous of your posts but it seems like they are ignoring it. At least, I don't recall seeing them respond to your suggestions about this in any of your posts. As you say, they are usually more responsive. Would giving a warning maybe hurt their business?

Hi booklady, it has been going on for so long now I can't recall any reply in these boards and certainly no direct repsonse.

It is almost as though some eBay complacency is taking hold of Auctiva so when potential clients panic and leave without saying anything they need not worry "plenty more around" about why they left.

From what I have seen looking around for another online auction house in which to sell cheaper items in the UK (due to eBay fees and their appalling attitude to shop inventory format and searches . ... but that's another beef) Auctiva appear to be in a totally different league to any others for tools and bulk uploading facilities. Others mainly seem to use spreadsheets to bulk upload with.

So perhaps their superior position and links to probably the dominant global on-line auction venue is tainting them. I do hope not.

it just happened to me and my listings were all removed on my ebay. they are not there. this is really irritating. im hoping they come back. i asked the rep if they would come back and he said that since they shut down my account they were removed from their database

If your account is shut down that is some kind of an issue you are having with eBay not Auctiva. Auctiva would not cause your account to be shut down. If you are listing through Auctiva all of your listings should be safe.Did eBay give you any indication why they shut your account down?

Who shut down your account? Ebay? If you are suspended they should have given you a reason...if not, email whyended@ebay.com, I think that's the right link.

Good question jojojousa, and very wise to come to the discussion boards to ask. If your auctions have 2 days left to go this would be a great time to activate your token. You will have a short period of time that your auctions will be unsearchable due to ebay making sure your account was not hijacked but with 2 days to go on them. I feel you would not be hurt by this. As you know most of the activity in an auction happens in the final hours and seconds.
And all the "FREE" stuff is truly free no strings attached

I am a total newbie, so if I sound ignorant its because I am! I don't have active listings on Ebay and have just started building my store and creating listings on Auctiva. I'm just saving the listings until I have everything ready to go. Do I need to worry about this problem? Also what are the tokens many of you have been talking about? Thanks!

Just thought of another question. I am paying Ebay a monthly fee for my basic store. Does the use of Auctiva to do everything mean I don't need an Ebay store? I'm guessing that would be too good to be true, but if not I'll wait until everything is up and running and save my money. Thanks again!

I am unsure as to saving the listings. I believe you will be OK because you have not created your eBay token yet but cannot guarantee it.
The token is what you generate in order for Auctiva to be able to access eBay to post your auctions for you without you cannot post them through Auctiva as eBay will not give them access to your account. Are you sure you did not generate a token already? It has been awhile since I signed up but I thought that was one of the things that needed done at the beginning.

You are right on the store it is too good to be true. If you are running an eBay store your Auctiva store does not replaceit. You still need the eBay store

The basic eBay store at least allows some limited customisation of the listings and facility to add a logo to the invoices of eBay's checkout.

And of course the shop inventory format for which my jury is still out on the usefulness of that.

Taz, when I joined up with Auctiva I already had an eBay store so the question did not come up whether it was a prequsite to opening an Auctiva store front. I had better check that out

I have a question...I know you can not revise a listing that already has bids or less than 12 hours etc. but for the listings that qualify are you able to revise items without paying a fee??

Yes (unless you up the starting price to the next fee category)
