I listed a similiar item to this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/MacBoo...&hash=item3cd17ae7df on Ebay and finally got a bid. It took me HOURS to list this listing due to Ebay's policies with the links. I had to revise and revise to figure out what I did wrong. I finally get the listing listed, then bam, it gets a bid. Think Ebay would contact me PRIOR to removing the listing, NO. Instead they remove mine and not many others that are selling the same dang thing. Instead, I get this: Dear luvscrappinntx03(scrappinntx@grandecom.net), You recently listed the following listing: 190837677562 - Apple MacBook Pro 15.4 inch *EMPTY* Box-MC721LL/A! NEW!! The listing was removed because it violated eBay policy. The item you listed is an accessory that normally accompanies new brand name merchandise and is not sold separately. While we appreciate that you have chosen to utilize our site to sell your items, we must ask that you please not relist in this case. Accessories that aren't offered as a stand alone purchase from the manufacturer aren't allowed on eBay Certain brand name products come with accessories (custom packaging, warranties etc).that aren't available on their own. Because these types of items may be used to commit fraud or facilitate a fraudulent transaction, we don't allow them to be listed. To learn more about our policy, visit: http://pages.ebay.com/help/pol...ted-accessories.html Important: The next time you sell, you may be asked to take a tutorial. Once you've completed the tutorial successfully, please review your account status for any other possible concerns. If there are no other issues, you should be able to sell again. To take the intellectual property tutorial, please visit: http://pages.ebay.com/help/tut...otutorial/intro.html Please be aware that any additional violations of this policy may result in the suspension of your account. eBay understands that you may be concerned about this situation. If you have questions, contact our policy experts. Get started by clicking the link below: http://contact.ebay.com/ws/eBa...=Homer_EOA&From=5303 We appreciate your understanding. So now, I can't sell this! And I had a dang bid! Mad Mad So now, if I can't sell this on Ebay, where *can* I sell it? Geeeeeeeeez, I *HATE* ebay with a passion right now. If I didn't need the money right now, I'd kiss it all goodbye. However, eye surgery is needed very badly so that I don't go blind!

There are things you can and cannot sell on eBay and they have pretty much spelled it all out for you. The rules and policies are all found in the Help pages and some in the user agreement too.

If you go to the Customer Support link at the top of any page and click on it and them type in "restricted items", it will bring up a link for restricted and prohibited items. If you are going to sell on eBay then it would be in your best interest to learn their rules first as you agreed to follow them and if you don't, you could have a very short selling career. As far as eBay not contacting you first, they don't and won't....mostly because you already agreed to follow their rules and accept the consequences, which are also spelled out, if you don't.

Sorry....but this is not eBay's fault and you can't blame them because you didn't take the time to read about what is or isn't allowed to be sold on eBay and that you got caught.
lmrntx--the list of rules and regs is long and sometimes surprising.

Might I suggest that you reach out to Apple and ask if they have an issue with selling the box. If it is ok with them you can approach other sites that do what ebay does. Given that this was on the forbidden list, if you have apple's permission you can pose the question to the other sites.

have you ever visited the powersellersunite website? it makes some good recommendations on selling.

Good luck on the eye surgery.
It is not allowed, no matter where you try to sell it. There is no site that will "ALLOW" it nor will Apple....not even at flea markets

You can "start" reading here.

The LEGAL consequences are way worse than just getting a listing pulled. And no one should be encouraged to break laws, seek ways to break laws or to be set up for legal issues.

Apple is also a VERO member on eBay and on most other sites and played a HUGE part in getting that listing pulled.....because they do NOT allow it. All those other site also have rules and policies and are required to have it's members comply with LAWS as well.
