Hi, I had an item listed on EBAY and it didn't sell. If I relist it, will the fee be the same as it was the first time I listed it through Auctiva?

I believe the fee will be the same if you post it again through Auctiva as eBay has no way to know that it's actually a relist.

Okay, DONT click on the RELIST NOW button on the page EBAY sends you if your item doesn't sell. What happens is, it goes through the EBAY site and charges you full price!!! Just have to re-list it through Auctiva.
Um, I know you think you've asked and answered your own question...but you've got it wrong.
Here's how it works...in detail...
If you list something and it does not sell, eBay allows you to RELIST your item and you will get a "Listing Fee" credit if your items sells on that "Relist". To do this, you must use the eBay "RELIST" feature, either in the email or on the item itself.
That does not mean that you get to relist it for free...and the credit is only applied to the Listing Fee and not towards other things like Gallery or Bold or any other whiz-bang marketing thing that you do to your listing.
You still are charged for the Re-list, but you get a credit if it sells. At this time, you absolutely MUST do this on eBay in order to set your item up to potentially get this relisting fee credit. If you Relist your item using Auctiva you will NOT be eligible for this. Auctiva is not currently setup to "relist" items so that you will get your listing fee credited back to you.
I guarantee you that this is how it works...
Sometimes I just go ahead and use Auctiva to Relist my items anyway, knowing that I'm throwing a little money away... But eBay does charge for scheduled listings and such so sometimes it just not worth it to sit online and relist the items exactly when I want them to start...
But you decide how you want to do it for yourself, just know that (at this time) you will not get any relising credit by using Auctiva.

Ok, so this was my question. You are saying basically that it is cheaper to relist using Auctiva, and that if I use Ebay's Relist feature it will charge me full price, but if it sells they will credit the listing fee back to me???

Yes, I think so! This is what happened. It cost me 55 cents to list my item through Auctiva the first time. (that's for the ebay fees..even though I go through Auctiva to list the item) When the item didn't sell, EBAY offered to let me relist the item. Out of curiousity, I clicked the RELIST NOW button in the e-mail Ebay sent me telling me I could relist and if I the item sold, I'd get back my original 55 cent fee. BUT, the page that came up when I did click that link was an EBAY sell page- not Auctiva..which makes sense. If it's an EBAY link, they aren't going to send me to Auctiva to relist. So, had I gone through and filled out all the info and confirmed, it would have chaged me regular EBAY fees for listing that second time. (1.00 picture pack, etc)
jj, you don't get the relist for free -- you get a credit to your account if the item sells on the second try. If the item doesn't sell then you'll pay the second listing fee.
It's completely safe to relist through eBay but it's not necessary. It just depends on how badly you want to get that relist credit. And, of course, if you add any extra features (for instance, if you want to schedule your relist) eBay will charge you for those.

If i relist through ebay, does it retain all of the auctiva enhancements like the template and showcase etc?
Basically excluding fees, is there any difference relisting via e bay or auctiva?

Yep, it's all the same. It's just like if you used the "Get HTML" feature from one of your Auctiva-created listings and plugged it into eBay's description box.
The only difference is that if you want to schedule your relist eBay will charge you a dime whereas Auctiva wouldn't.

Plus if you relist it through ebay, they will add a "this item has been relisted click here to see it" link to the old ite page. That way if somebody finds that one, they can be redirected to the current page. I use to relist often when listings were a quarter, but 35 cents just adds up to quick. That extra ten cents means I get less than 3 auctions for a dollar and before I could get 4 auctions for a dollar.
