Hi peeples
Just got offline from online help - I was told the only way to revise a listing was to go to "saved" listings make changes and copy paste into ebay revise section
OK I get it - but - when listing - I clicked POST listing because I thought "save" meant to list it later.
I figured active and saved were 2 different features.
Now I'm told that I must go to saved listings to make changes. I posted and did not "save" the listing- so does it mean I can only revise text and unable to change the images now?
I am trying to figure this out before I list a ton of stuff....thanks for assistance!

Hi Katy,

Not at all. As long as your listings have not received bids and have greater that 12 hours of duration left, you can change the images and/or the description. In order to make these changes, you will just need to revise each listing via the following process:

1) Locate your listing in your Saved Listings folder, make any necessary changes, and save.
2) Click the "<HTML> icon to the right of the item on your "Saved Listings" page
3) Select All and copy the html in the popup window.
4) Locate the item on eBay and click the "Revise Item" button.
5) Scroll down to the "Description" section and then click the "HTML" tab above the description editor.
6) Delete the existing description HTML, paste the copied HTML in its place, and save your changes.

In step 1, you will just want to make ANY changes to the listing that you would like to transfer to the associated active listing, including both the images and the description if you'd like.

If you ONLY want to change the description text of a listing, the easiest way to do so would be to go straight to eBay's "Revise your Item" form. Once on the "Revise your Item" form of the desired listing, you can just scroll down to the "Description" section and click the "Standard" tab along the top of the editor. You will then see your description within the editor exactly how it appears in the listing and can make your changes using your cursor, keyboard, and the editor toolbar.

I just talked with you in live chat- You said go to "saved" listings - well guess what- my auctions are not in saved listings
I just left ebay trying to copy paste image urls and it does not work. There is so much proprietary html and other codes - it is next to impossible to plunk in copied html image urls from Auctiva.
I think if I can convert active listings into saved listings I could hopefully ADD images

I have now spent 2 hours last night and 2 hours today
Sorry to say- Auctiva is leading me in circles. I am ready to go back to a good ol fashioned web host for my images.

Hi Katy,

The saved listings associated with the auctions you mentioned were present on your Saved Listings page when I was looking in your account earlier. Since you are unable to see them, you must have a search or filter enabled that is causing them not to be returned.

If you go to your Saved Listings page and select "All Listings" from the "Listing Type" pull-down menu, "All Folders" from the "Folder" pull-down menu, and "All eBay Sites" from the "eBay Site" pull-down menu, all of your saved listings should be returned, including those associated with the listings you are trying to revise.

The instructions I have provided above describe the correct procedure for revising your active listings so, if you follow them precisely, you will be able to accomplish what you are hoping to. If you continue to have trouble with any aspect of this process, I recommend contacting our customer support department for further assistance.

Did you do the usual cache and cookie clearing, browser restarts, pc reboots? If those don't work, you might even consider rebooting your cable modem, router, and pc (if applicable)(and in that order) just as a process of elimination. Sometimes changing browsers helps, Firefox seems to often work when IE doesn't for example. AOL can be another common problem for many people. Last recourse, try filing a support request and see if Auctiva tech folks can help. (or some of our community computer gurus might be able to assist)

Is this instruction the same for images?
One is not appearing correctly. this one was not a listing imported from ebay, this is one I created on Auctiva.
I fixed the one that didn't show on the gallery. I don't know how I did it tho.
I would still like to add a couple more pics to the listing, that I haven't figured out. I could upload them from my computer to Picture Manager as a stop gap, but am trying to get rid of it!
I don't know much about html...I know how to use ubb codes.....so you may have to be patient with me... Big Grin
Hi N - Here are the instructions for changing or adding images to your active listing. This was copied from the FAQ's on the Help page: (this assumes you have uploaded your pics to Auctiva first)

How do I replace an image in an active listing?

1. Locate the listing in your Saved Listings folder and click on its title to open it in the one-page lister.
2. Scroll to the Image section.
3. If you would like to take a few pictures out, click the Remove link under each picture you would like to remove from the listing.
4. If you would like to replace all the pictures or add pictures to the listing, click on any image to bring up the image selector pop-up window. To replace all the pictures, click the blue Reset button at the top of the pop-up. Then, click on the pictures you would like to appear in the listing. You should see numbers appear on each picture to tell you the order in which the pictures will appear on your listing. To add additional pictures to the listing, simply click on them. You should see numbers appear on each new picture indicating they are being added to the images that are already there.
5. When your image changes are complete, scroll to the bottom and click the Save button.
6. Return to the Saved Listings page and check the box next to your updated listing.
7. Click the HTML link on the right and copy the HTML in the popup box.
8. Locate the item on eBay and click the "Revise Item" button.
9. Click "Edit Description" then click the "Enter your own HTML" tab.
10. Paste the copied HTML in place of what's there and save your changes.
Yup, moonscape it is, taken during the moon landing of course. I like the pic too, have it stored on my cell. You can add your own avatar, go back to the avatar set and click 'custom avatar', then enter the URL of the pic you want to use, either hosted by Auctiva or another web site. Best to downsize it to 48x48 pixels first, it will load better.

I made a mistake while doing mass listings yesterday and left a pic of the previous listing on the next one. I didn't catch it even tho I try to proof really carefully.
I couldn't find this instruction for some reason, but here's what I did.
Note I had already sent the listing to ebay to post.
When it "finally" posted, I went into revise here on Auctiva which took me to revise on ebay. So, I just proceeded to try something.
I came back to the listing in my saved listings here. I simply copied the http of the pic I wanted to use to replace the one I goofed on, from My Images. Then went to ebay and after deleting the "wrong" picture, I added the http from here...and it worked. Is this what you are describing above?
The pop up box I encountered was on the ebay listing, is that what you mean?
Aha, now I see a problem. The scrolling gallery did not change. So I will go through these instructions and see if that will fix it.
The pics are the right ones in the ad, but in the scrolling gallery. Also the 2nd one doesn't show up in the ebay Gallery, which I clicked and paid for. This is the crucial difference I guess.
I followed your instructions ninth_wave....but I couldn't find the "Edit Description" click in Step 9. I assume it's on eBay, but when I was in "revising My...." I couldn't find that. Can tell me where it is....

I thought I had the above worked out, I was wrong. I have the right pics on the listing now, but the Auctive scrolling Gallery is still wrong....I have tried to revise, and it looks right here, but it's still shows a Pink Butter Dish and says Coffee Server Blue LOL..... Roll Eyes Maybe people will wonder why it says that and click it anyway! That's the upside!
Hi N,

To follow up on your conversation with ninth_wave, the "Edit Description" link used to be displayed on eBay's "Revise your Item" form. Since they released the new version of the "Revise your Item" form, you no longer need to click "Edit Description". Instead, you can now just scroll about 1/3 down the page to the section labeled "Description" to find the description editor.

Also, when you change the header/gallery image in an auction, your scrolling gallery will not automatically update to reflect the new image. If you would like your scrolling gallery to be updated to reflect the new image you have added to this listing, you will need to request assistance from our customer support team, which can be done by clicking the "File a Support Request" link on the following page:
