Hello Colonel!
Sir!

If I understand your question Colonel, I'll try to offer this:

You don't really access your Auctiva Account "through" the Ebay website per-se'. What I mean here is that each one of the two websites (Ebay & Auctiva) have their own individual 'accounts' associated with you (or me) as patrons or 'users'.

You can have 'quick-access' to your Ebay-account and your Auctiva-account at the same time by having two different browser windows (or tabs) active in your browser simultaneously. I believe IE-7.0 uses tabs now (i don't use IE) and FireFox has had window tabbing forever!

The idea here is to first open a window(tab)in your browser. Then navigate to say Auctiva. Then login to your accnt at Auctiva. Ok?
...now
Open a NEW additional window(tab)in your browser. And using this NEW window, navigate to Ebay; and login to your accnt at Ebay!

Now you have quick access to each account by flip-flopping between the two browser windows. See?
I hope this helps.

Again, I hope I understood your intent. And I hope I haven't given anyone a bum-steer!

Zeb
By the way Colonel,

I see you signed up just today.
Welcome to the Community!!

I'm fairly new here myself (but not so fresh anymore i'm afraid) Frown

I can tell you this... I've been around the net..a lot!
And I like this place !!
--Good Friendly Folks Here! I'm sure you'll find that out quickly!

So, if my reply didn't help...or just muddied the water for ya' ..I apologize.

don't hesitate to ask questions..and more questions..if necessary! Wink

Zeb
Colonel, I agree with Zebra about using two browsers.
One thing to remember is that if you use the Drag and Drop feature to transfer Images, you have to use IE. I like it, drag and drop that is.
I cannot log into the "community" (here) when I am using Firefox. I've had a help request in for a while but it isn't solved yet. I keep both open generally as a result. I also use Yahoo for receiving and sending ebay messages and I prefer to use it on FF.
Little things to learn.
I am not so savvy yet either..started on Jan 1, and have a few things to figure out yet.
But I like it better than listing on ebay.
Next is to get Auctiva check out up and working for me. But that will have to wait.
Good luck!

very strange N ! .. gotta be sumpm' simple!

it may sound silly but I have to ask... -- have you got Java 'enabled' in FireFox??
(might also update Java to current version..[maybe your version is broken])

also..check to make sure you have your 'cookie-acceptance' unblocked
(under Tools/Options/Privacy/cookies/exceptions)

and of course last but not least.
Occasionally a FireFox 'helper' (meaning a particular plug-in or extensionadd-on) can argue with a particular website. Unfortunately this isn't always obvious. If you just h_a_p_p_e_n to have any unusual extensions installed..you might need to explore that aspect.

Good luck (lemme know!)

Zeb

dat's alright N ..not to worry!

umm...actually amigo, it occurs to me that this isn't the best place (meaning this Forum section) to post back and forth on this kind of issue. So I suggest perhaps moving this dialog to the Lounge. Ok?

just post a new topic about FireFox sign-in problem.
(not absolutely sure I can help fix the problem...but we can try!)

Hi member_8880! --- (i love your mischief in the Lounge w/ Shadeaux,ChooChoo,NinthWave,etc..))

Actually it was N who is/was having the problem with FireFox login to this forum. Firefox works fine for me (its all I use). But the point about not having to have both IE + FF running concurrently is spot-on. Hence the "2 open tabs" approach as suggested above.

I have the opposite problem (sometimes) but only on the community boards.

In a way (and in my view)this just reinforces my suspicion about the problem either you or 'N' may be having (meaning: configuration tweaks needed in ya'lls browser settings)-- I'll admit though, since you said the problem occurs only "sometimes..".. then that makes it a bit more puzzling.

Further along..

As for signing in, I just have www.auctiva.com saved in my browsers' address bars and use the dropdowns. Piece 'o cake

PREZACTLY! That's truly the best way to do it! -And I think goes to the OP!

The Colonel hinted at the idea when he asked about trying to get a 'button' onto his browser's toolbar. I can't speak to settings in a 'Google_ized-toolbar' such as the Colonel apparently uses.... [hope you're still with us here Colonel!..?]
But I've (long ago) set several 'bookmark-buttons' in my FireFox browser for quick-click navigation to website pages I use frequently. This certainly includes Ebay, Auctiva, PP, and Webmail..as well as a few others. Its only one of the *Many* reasons I use FireFox exclusively!
I'm confident later versions of IE have similar capability. I just don't care for it myself (IE).
