I am using a custom template that has no active content -- just one image used as a sidebar. Last week when I previewed a listing I was preparing I noticed that the template image was very, very small. I reported this as an issue and I was told that the preview is not supposed to be an exact replica of an eBay listing. I know that. The description section of the preview was always pretty close, but now it was way off. The image was maybe 10% its original size.

I added a link to my support case so that someone in support could take a look and see what I was talking about. I was told that my "suggestion" was already passed on to the product management team. This was no suggestion --- it was an actual issue caused by something that someone at Auctiva changed, maybe related to active content. Oddly enough, it's only affecting listings I've posted since reporting the issue.

I hope someone at Auctiva will read this and make sure this issue is fixed.

Here is a listing with the issue:

You will have to scroll down to see it.

And here is the image, correctly sized:

Hello HudsonRecords -

I'm sorry to hear about your experience.

I've taken a look at the listing you note here and can see the difficulty you refer to. It is most likely that this is a result of some code in the listing that was added to any template to help with mobile responsiveness. As a result of the upcoming changes on eBay, we've made some changes to the way listings are delivered to eBay. It turns out, that there are cases such as you note here where this particular code caused different issues to occur. As a result, we are no longer adding this code in general and a bulk revise of the affected listings should resolve the issue without any need to repost them to eBay.

For any listing where this has occurred for you that is eligible for revision on eBay, you can remove the HTML using the Bulk Revise tool on the Active listings page of your Auctiva account, after selecting the appropriate listings.

In the Bulk Revise tool, select Description and it will bring up a find and replace tool. In the Find field, add:
<style>img{max-width:100%} td > img{max-width:400px}</style>
and in the Replace field add a space, then you can run the tool.

This will remove that piece of HTML from the listing and it should then show with the image appropriately sized.

If you run into any further difficulty, please don't hesitate to let us know and we'll be happy to take a look.

Steve,
This issue is caused by extra style added to listings as suggested by the ebay mobile friendly checker. eBay was requesting that a max-width style be applied to all images in a listings, and we were complying with that request, but have since removed that specific styling as it could produce issues like what you've noted here. Newly created listings will not have this style tag applied, so going forward your logo should have the correct sizing. If you use the eBay mobile friendly checker, it may say something like "Your listing isn't quite mobile friendly. Let fix it!" Just don't click the "Fix it for me" button, as it will add that style tag back into your listing and in your case, you don't want that style applied to your listing.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thank you for a real solution for the listings I've already posted, Craig. For later listings, I simply specified the dimensions in the image properties and my logo appeared correctly sized.
