This is GREAT news for us... we've been considering using stamps.com due to our high volume of international business, but were reluctant to incur the extra costs of having a stamps.com account. It's too bad eBay doesn't communicate this out to their sellers.

I'd like to add that the links in the blog don't lead to the right places in stamps.com... It took me some deep digging, but here are the links to get signed up.

This link is directly to the stamps.com info about the program:

Thanks again for the info!!
I think the article is somewhat misleading. It clearly stated during the registration process that this is a '4 Weeks free trial'. So this is NOT free, unless someone can verify.

This is what's posted under the 'payment' tab,

[B]Why do you need my credit card information? Your credit card is required by the USPS to set up your USPS postage account. Your credit card will not be charged unless you buy additional postage or Stamps.com products, or if you continue past the NO-RISK 4-week trial period ( only $15.99 per month ).
boutiqueful.... Use this link for the free stamps account for eBay:

http://www.stamps.com/shipping/ebay-plan-features/

The info under the payment tab changes to this:

"Why do you need my credit card information?
Your credit card is required by the USPS to set up your USPS postage account. Your credit card will not be charged unless you buy additional postage or Stamps.com products. There is no service charge for the free eBay plan ($0 per month. Only for usage of Stamps.com’s webstore shipping process for shipping goods sold through your eBay® webstore.
Limited time offer"

Hope that helps!!

The only problem I have with this is that it only lists the item number, not the title of the item. Now I have to have a browser open with MY EBAY site to identify the item, since I usually have multiple packages at the same time. I also want to see what they PAID me in shipping. Sometimes I give a refund if it is over, or upgrade to faster shipping. I have the ability to do this using Paypal.
Hi,

I went ahead and signed up for this after reading the posts here. Thanks for the info, all-about-kidz.

I have been searching for ways to save on shipping as I am barely keeping my head above water right now. I have way too many customers asking why my shipping costs are so high. I have been using Flat Rate Priority and charging a handling fee. I ship mostly vintage jewelry. I try to keep my prices as low as I can and still make a profit. Customers object to paying more for shipping than they do for the product. Eek I could probably send most of my items first class cheaper. Now I can print first class postage and I won't have to go to the post office! I bet it also increases my sales!

I just hope there aren't any hidden costs I didn't see when I read the terms and conditions.
