Store Listings Categories? Question!

Where do I do that?

I just signed up to Auctiva the other day... I'd assume they'd have grabbed my eBay Store Categories?

The eBay store categories are very important to me, without being able to list to specific categories I probably wont stay using Auctiva.

I don't have a store, so I don't know what to tell you, other than to file a support request under the help link, the Auctiva folks are wonderful at helping out.
If you just signed up, I would imagine your token is valid, I think you would get a notification if it weren't.

I found it. Its a link under "My Account" -> "eBay Settings"

Auctiva really ought think about a general document so Noob's to Auctiva get everything set in advance of listing things.

Most of it could be navigated via a HTML page with a bit of instruction and then click a link and do it.

I'd been going into eBay with listings I posted, then doing a "revision" to set the items into the categories.

Since I made a custom template... of course eBay mutilated them as I did the revision. So I'd need open the HTML for the listing and cut/paste from the Auctiva Source back to eBay!

I am sure I'll get the hang of Auctiva... There certainly are advantages and disadvantages as well.

The HTML editor within "Create A Listing" leaves much to be desired.

My template uses quite a bit of Cascading Style Sheets and the editor doesnt pick up a thing from the template. The template ought be selected in advance of "Description editing" and then pick-up the CSS Styling. Course, thats some work

Numerous times when I go to Center a heading the editor shows things centered but the generated HTML markup doesnt equate (ie: It has a <p> not <p align="center"> that I've had to manually slap in.

Today's stand alone web editors tend to make CSS Styles more often than direct HTML when it comes to many facets of pages such as fonts etc.

I used to use an older version of Frontpage where never had to worry much about it. I now use Dreamweaver which generates quite a bit of CSS.

I am a software engineer as well as running a sales business for quite a few years.

I created a custom template because looks count.

When selling on the web what the consumer first see's is imperative in conversion to sales.

I am still working on it... I have to create an About Me page, I have to create a custom eBay storefront page(s) etc still...

Beautiful job on your auction pages. You've probably already though of it, but why don't you just turn off the left store column in your auction pages? Just seems a bit redundant to me. You could likely put the search within your code, so you don't lose that function.

Thanks for the Kudos on the look of our auction/store pages.

I still have some work to do on them which is why I have not started to get rid of the eBay store column's etc. The "Store search" feature for example I want incorporated to our design preferably so the customer can search our store from any listing.

I was going to use "flyout" menus for the side (so if one hovers a mouse over say "PC Games" it'd drop down another menu with the subcategories).

I also need finish up the "optional page content". See... I used images for the Payment/Ship/Terms as when I first started I did not know I'd give Auctiva a go. With Auctiva this content can be "injected" into a template via the "Seller profile". However, Auctiva has no "Optional profile". In other words a profile type that would allow optional content to be injected into a template.

So... still some work to do.

It all looks pretty good but its by no means "best I can do".

While somewhat new to this eBay/Auctiva stuff I'm not new to eCommerce and web design/software engineering.

We create templates/web's for businesses etc as well.
