I have searched the message boards for this information without success. I hope a number of you will respond. Someone once said, "Two heads are better than one, even if one is a knothead." Wink

I'm curious and interested. How do you store your buyers information, i.e., name, email, shipping address, phone, etc.? Have you built an Excel or Access db? I know eBay maintains that info, but only for 45 days. I want something that is permanent.

In Mpire and Blackthorne this information was automatically imported into a buyer's database. But, those were (Mpire no longer around), are (Blackthorne) for fee tools.

BroJames I do this very simply by cut and paste into notepad and saving. I suppose once I get up and really running I will have to build/find some sort of sheet to store this info. at present good old notepad works and I just make one for each month.it strikes me that years ago when I working at a pawn shop and we used Auctiva(the paid version)it had this feature built into it.it was also a lot easier to list weth it. Not complaining about the free version however Big Grin
I'm not sure how it works in the US, but here in the UK we have the Data Protection Act. Under that you are not allowed to store people's data without their permission. If you do store it, you are supposed to register with the information commissioner, you have to keep it up to date, accurate, only keep it for a specified purpose, and only keep it for as long as it is needed. So if you're collecting information about your buyers you should really ask their permission first.

If you are sending unsolicited e-mails through Ebay and the buyer thinks that these are unwelcome they could be forwarded onto eBay who could impose sanctions. Unsolicited e-mails direct to buyer's own e-mail addresses may not be welcome and I would be suprised if these resulted in many sales. I think the safest thing to do is to encourage people to add you to their favourite sellers and send out newsletters through eBay.

Just my opion, you might want to ignore it, but you said you wanted a number of responses.
