I would like to exchange my active listing with a saved listing but don't know how to do that. Can anyone help with this, please?

Do you mean you want to update your active listing with Auctiva's template, pics, etc. that normally appears in the description section on ebay?

If that's the situation, you can export all the HTML code using copy and paste it (replace) the HTML code in the Description section of the active listing using ebay Revise listing. The copy from Auctiva is done on the Saved Listings page at the right of any listing with the <HTML> selection.

Dano,

Thanks much for the reply. Here's the thing:

1.) The first time I did what you said, everything I'd written had showed up, but not the template. This time, every thing did show up, including the template. I'm not sure if I did it differently last time, but I did use the HTML code. Regardless...thanks! Smile

2.) The same error is coming up as it did last time, and since Ebay just waived an insertion fee, I want to know what this means and want to insure I'm not re-listing another item:

"You can not submit your listing due to the following problems

Attention Seller:

"In order to maintain a safe trading environment, selling limits are occasionally placed on accounts. At this time, you are not able to list this item.

We sincerely value you as a member of our trading community and look forward to a continued successful relationship.

What should I do? Should I hit "Submit Revisions?"

Thanks!!!
Glad it worked! Smile

I've experience trading limits myself. I had them for resale of certain software items last fall. Essentially, (from my experience) they limit the number of items you can list in a category or class during any 7 day period. I think my prior limit (removed after about 60 days) was 4-6 per week. It only applied to that class/category, and didn't affect my other auctions. That limit also disallowed revisions to items in same class/category (like they are keeping count against the limit). I guess they are trying to stop possible changes to sneak things in...under the restriction. That sounds like what you might be having.

I was literally cleaning out my bookshelves and closets of old full licensed software, so I wasn't in any hurry or felt the restriction was unjustified.

Thanks for the speedy response, Danno. Smile

And wow what an annoyance this is. Confused

Not trying to break any rules here at all, but is there any way (possibly) to add the HTML via Ebay and make this work, 'cause my current listing looks like (excuse...) crap and would much rather it not stay the way it currently is. Any suggestions?

Thanks again!
"What are you selling that's under the restriction?"

A pair of designer jeans.

"I went straight to ebay support when I was restricted, and there was no negotiation on the restriction. I had to be under it for a period by policy for new seller in that category and essentially (my guess) demonstrate that I was a good seller in the category."

I just did the same thing and that said that the problem is on Auctiva's end. I think I may need to call them up because I only need one more revision.

Auctiva wouldn't restrict your ability to do a Revise listing on ebay. Eek If you are getting the error on ebay trying to Revise, that wouldn't be anything at Auctiva's end. If it were mis-categorized due to submission error, that could be a problem. Once they drop the hammer, new listings are also rejected for the same reason.

Designer Jeans? Confused That may be a restricted category now with so many fakes/mislabeled on the market. Yes, the problems have gotten that serious, and ebay is suspending and limiting left and right on stuff before you even get a chance to read about a policy change.

Well then I'm honestly stumped, Danno. Frown

Are you serious? What exactly is restricted? Selling jeans?

The jeans I buy and sell are 100% authentic. I only have one listed right now, but they are authentic and their authenticity can always be confirmed via a few reputable resources/sites.

That line in the message is the tip-off to the account restriction. That's why I'm suggesting the possibility ebay may now be looking at alot of high-value branded items with replica/counterfeit problems and expanding their policies to cover same.

If you are using the brand name of a designer Jean on the listing, it might have tripped the ebay policy.

Got a link to the listing or listing #?

Wow, as short as that paragraph was, I missed that sentence.

Anyway, I've contacted the Trust and Safety guys and I should receive a response with "48" hours...so we'll see.

As for the listing, after seeing the way it looks with the template and many adjustments via Auctiva, I got to say the way it looks now is really bad, but here you go, anyway:

Thanks for everything, Danno - you've been very, very helpful. Smile
Darn....just a little too large for me, I'm a 34x34 Smile

Well, it's a Designer Brand for sure. Obviously, you've tripped the shark. I would certainly let T&S explain the reasons before I'd do anything else. I've heard of folks being suspended for making "moves" without understanding the issues, i.e. loooong suspensions.

Not allowing revisions or new submissions probably has you stuck anyway. There is a new tutorial from T&S on intellectual property you might take. It might also give you some clues to what they've taken issue to.

I've been emailing Ebay over the same matter that you are going through. I have 260 positive feedback and still they restricted my account from listing certain Name brand item. It all started with Listing Lancome Lip gloss. I was really upset and kept emailing them to lift the restriction but as usually they will send you an email that all sounds the same.(template answers) I have been arguing with them for months now. Basically, they inform me that I can email back in 6 months and they will review my account to see if they will lift the restriction. Its been really frustrating. Can't win with Ebay. No warning at all. So now I just take my chances on listing items and hope I can list them. I hope you have better luck with them then I did!
