Oh puleeeeeeease. Anyone can go get an UPic insurance policy (if you do please use me as your referral, thank you, lol.) After about 6 months of high volume and no incidents you can get a flat rate. Let's say, $6.95 per month. Now, you start a biz that let's auction sellers launch and yadda yadda their auctions onto FeeBay. Hey, get them to sell, sell, sell, insurance. Give them a kickback of let's say, .25 per whatever. If you're paying a 'flat rate' monthly billing under $10.00 -- well you get the picture. Now, get these dandy auction sellers to sell mucho grande insurance and bingo you're generating money. The buyer is insured and happy, the seller gets a .25 kickback to offset the gallery fee or whatever and on top of it -- a FREE listing service.

Oh my friends, this is just the beginning. Now, join forces with Sellathon and whoever, wherever and share the love. Yes, Virgina FREE exists in the hearts and minds of those who choose to believe. So start believing ... or not.

I mean, I charge a flat rate of $7.00 for most items and more for heavier things. I include the delivery confirmation (free) and insurance (I have an UPic policy) and I still make a good $2.00 per sale. So far, no complaints from my buyers. And I don't even have a flat (monthly) rate - yet.

Believe me, Virgina - Auctiva has a sweet deal with UPic. They do all the work and you get a .25 kickback to boot. I have no idea how the Sellathon works but I'm sure it's a doosey.

Personally, I think, Jeff has a great idea. It's a win, win situation. The customer's insured and happy, the seller gets a kickback, a 'free' lister (actually your buyers are paying for Auctiva via their insurance, ain't it grand?) and UPic is happy as well. So everyone find a way to make insurance madatory, lol. Woohoo!

Upward and onward. I'm sure if y'all who wanna pay keep moaning about it, Auctiva will give in and come up with a paying model for everyone. Lol, or maybe just for those who 'want' to pay.

Okay, now I'm getting goofy.

Frog

PS - Auctiva Staff I recommend making these boards UNavailable to crawlers. We really don't need our buyers knowing everything about us, lol.

I have a question.....I'm new here, in the lounge. I haven't done sellathon, mainly because I don't want an exposed counter and I don't know if sellathon has a hidden counter option, but I feel that the numbers are for my benefit not for the benefit of my viewers. Initially, I made insurance an option. BUt now that I realize THAT is the way you make your money, I KNOW I must require it for all of my auctions. How does payment to you and me work? How do YOU get your insurance amount and how do I get my 25 cents? Do I have to utilize sellathon to make this all happen? I want YOU to make the money you are entitled to for making these wonderful services available to me and making miracles in creating the illusion that I really know what I'm doing. Red Face)
Thanx for EVERYTHING and I hope I can lose the other counter company I use and stick with you guys all the way. Adrienne aka NyceNYer

Black Magic is a state of mind. Usually, negative, grumpy people sharing their knowledge and so forth and so on.

Magie Noire on the otherhand is a purfume made by Lancome.

Please tell Santa I prefer Fruit Punch, lol. Grape is so boring. Kinda fitting, for all of us fruitcakes, aye?

Now get busy it's the first of the month! Send - Jeff your green, lol. Wink

No! No! Don't do it out of kindness. Smile Do it because it's a teriffic deal! I take the calculated risk of insuring every shipment at no charge to the customer because it's cheap (a buck-five per $100) and if offering it gets me just one extra bid per auction...well...I'm in the money. Another great feature IMHO is that if you follow the rules, you can insure certain types of shipping that the USPS won't, such as International Air Letter Post. And, if you would rather charge for the insurance, (I think most people do) you pick up at least enough for a semi-decent cigar with every sale.

Sell-a-thon has nothing to do with it. Auctiva gets their insurance through U-pic. You should be able to get what you need to know in the Help section: Help>Account>Checkout Settings>Auctiva Shipping Insurance. In a nutshell, you put a few bucks in your account and every time you designate a shipment for insurance (after the sale) Auctiva deducts the amount, say a buck-five, from your account. In the mean time, the customer pays you the regular amount, in this case, a buck-thirty.

Purfume, huh? That explains it. Is a Lancome a species of salmon? Confused
