I have now tried to use your listing page over 5 times and I have lost it or one time it just listed on Ebay twice. I am totally frustrated. I am not a computer idiot but something is funny about your system. One specific thing is the 3rd column next to the "select a counter", the Select a ship/pay, create or modify. When I choose that to change, then go back to my listing page, my listing discription is GONE..... that is frustrating when I have done it 3 times. I don't understand what this means: select a ship/pay. Thought that was part of the Check out thing. I have been a seller on Ebay for 4 months and never have had such frustration. It just can not be me!!!!

Hi,

It can be frustrating learning a new site. I am with you there. I think I know whats happening to you when your creating a new auction to list.

I went through the same problems. That button you are referring to " Select a ship/pay, create or modify. " is there for you to import your shipping and payment information into your new listing.

what you have to do is create a ship / pay PROFILE first.

What you need to do is create all of your profiles, and save and name each one first. Then go to the Master profile and save all of your new profiles under the MASTER.

Then when you start your new listing, at the very top of the listing page wou will see a box saying LOAD MASTER PROFILE ~ click on that BEFORE doing any description.

It will load all of your profile information ~

I often forget to load the master before starting the description and dread to load any profiles after, because it has happened to me several times that my description was lost.

Now what I do is copy the description before loading any profiles.. just incase I loose it.

I am not sure if this is a bug ? or just the way it is set up. But once you have your profiles set up and remember to load them PRIOR to creating your auction it works fine.

Hope this makes sense ?

Good luck

Carol.
Just to expand a little on what Carol said. That Ship/Pay details thing isn't required but it is nice.

EBay, of course, has the little 500-word blurbs down below your listing where you can put your shipping and/or payment policies. That text is either obtained from what you put in your Shipping and your Checkout profile(s), or else by just maximizing those sections on the lister page and entering it on-the-fly.

The "Create or Modify Shipping and Payment Details" that you are looking at is a different animal altogether, and is actually optional. Say you have some info (doesn't even have to be about shipping or payment) that you use over and over in your listings, and you'd like to put it in without having to keep typing it every time. Do like Carol says, make a S & P profile.

Oddly enough, you won't find the place to create it under the "Profiles" tab. The link's under "Listings", at the bottom of the "Custom Templates" section. You can make more than one: For example, I have one for calculated shipping policies and one for flat-rate policies.

Now, when you create a custom template, or modify one of Auctiva's, you'll see that you can put in a tag for "Shipping and Payment Details". Put that in your template wherever you want that "S & P" info to go. When you make a listing, after you've loaded any other profiles your using (if you are), just select whichever "S & P" profile you made that you want from that little drop down list. It will appear in your listing wherever you put that "Shipping and Payment Details" tag.

Keep in mind, it's optional-- you don't have to bother with it if you don't want to. Not worth losing sleep over. But you'll want to use it eventually because it is a real time-saver.

I know. I takes me a long time to splain things when I can't wave me hands about in the air. One time, me ship was sinkin', and I lost alot a swabbies, because I couldn't 'splain what "abandon ship" was, afore they drowned!

Thanks a lot you guys! I was so upset I was ready to chuck it, am sure you been there someplace! Turned off computer, now back at it more calm, will try again. Like Carol suggested I HAD ALREADY set up my profiles and learned quickly, like she said, not to forget to click that "master" deal. But the payment blurb, and the return policy blurb, would not show up in the preview. That is why I thought that "other thing" was needed. I understand now it's for extra stuff and optional. And again, I will try it once more or more. By the way, that hand arm thing, isn't that the truth, cute way of putting it! Might just quote you sometime. Thanks again to both of you! I'LL BE BACK!!! Judyw
Back to it, setting up a listing and have a few more questions: 1.) When I do preview why does my Return Policy I set up in profile not show up? 2.) My feed back score is days behind, like maybe 3 or 4 days. 3.) On shipping, I have "worldwide" set up in profile but it shows only Americas, Europe, Asia, Australia
in preview. 4.) That choice of "--- Select a Ship/Pay Details --- Create or Modify Shipping and Payment Details", is confusing when that's a Profile set up. That's all, thanks for reading!!! Later, Judy

Hello Judy,

Are you using your own custom made template to list ? or using one of auctivas ?

If you have your own template saved, you could write in there all of your return policies etc,

On this community board, under "custom templates" there is a page set up where users have placed Free templates for all to use at there will. See this link:

https://community.auctiva.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/6881044121/m/5431013331

If you want a custom template and not sure how to set it up I will be more than happy to help you.

Let me know.

Tar ra for now...
Wish I had the time today to attend that WebX. I really like this and am anxious to get Auctiva down.....BUT Mad I am pissing and moaning right now. I set up a listing, got it all set; but when I chose my shipping profile, and clicked "LOAD", I lost my listing. Gosh that is confusing. If I was able to hit the back button or undo that would be okay but you can not do that. So now I have to do it over again. I will get it eventually but for a newbie it's frustrating. I WOULD THINK, if you have a LOAD button that should mean that area is going to load NOT CHANGE EVERYTHING!!!!
until you get the hang of it, do a test auction, and just write ghgh gjgjjg jgjg. etc in the decription field.

I agree with you about the ship pay buttons that you LOAD. It happened to me when I tried to load my MASTER profile, but not when I load the ship pay button. hmmm odd ?

It could be something your not doing right ?? or a bug in the system. Hard to say when I am not sure how you are set up.

Try putting a request in, to the help desk and see if it is a bug.
Hello again Judy,

I just did a test auction using a auctiva template.

I did not load my master profile at the top of the page.

I filled in title ~ catagory ~ price ~ description pictures etc ...

Scrolled down to profiles and clicked load shipping. Everything dissapeared ! all the description, title info etc , except the pictures stayed.

I have never done a auction this way before.

When I first set up my account I made all 4 profiles and named each one master. Then under the main MASTER Profile I attached the 4 smaller master profiles to that.

So, when I start a NEW listing, the first thing I have to remember to do is HIT that first MASTER PROFILE: button

Its top right and highlighted black (just below where you see the Ebay site = UNITED STATES)

then all of your profiles saved under MASTER load at once. ie ~ your shipping ~ payments etc.. this works for me because I use the same shipping and payment options for every auction.

If you only want to make a shipping profile, try saving just that one in the MASTER and see if it loads it into your page, before you do the desciption etc...

This really is frustrating I agree. The details should not vanish when you load a profile. It should be fixed to keep your info. I will ask Tom about it.

Hope this helped ?
