When I set my insurance settings to required, Listing states included. Then the invoice adds the Insurance price to shipping blatantly. Very misleading to the point I will not offer it any more. My business depends on feedback, if I am misleading customers I will get reamed. Now I have to write to all my customers, revise all invoices for a couple weeks. Thanks Alot Auctiva scam

Hi Michael! I honestly feel the last utterance of your post is rather un-called for. Perhaps you could help us all understand a bit more clearly..what the precise source of your frustration is. There are a host of experienced folks here who have clearly demonstrated their remarkable capacity and their unselfish willingness to assist anyone (like you or me) who could use a helping hand from time to time.

I certainly mean no offense by asking because I know little of your particular situation, but do you face an intolerable burden with the prospect of either revising your current listings, or offering clarification to your winning buyers still awaiting an invoice? Couldn't you perhaps re-phrase your listing text (for new listings) as a rather simple solution for resolving your concerns about your customers' perceptions? Help me out here. Perhaps I'm off-base (because I'm actually a newbie myself).

Thanks!
Zeb
On my listings, I have specified that insurance is 'included in shipping', rather than 'required'. Insurance is required in both cases, but this presents it as a service to the customer, which is better way of presenting it since buyers do not like to be required to do something.

If there is a discrepancy between listing and invoice in the way these items are presented, I am sure there is a reasonable explanation, which may even include an honest error. To blatantly accuse the staff of Auctiva of scamming people is irresponsible at best.

Michael, if you've set your insurance to required on Auctiva, it will show as required with the amount you've inserted into the box. This is true when you use a flat rate shipping option.

When you use calculated shipping, there is no box to insert an amount. However, it still will not state that it is included unless that is what you've chosen and told it to state. How it shows up in your auctions or store listings is how YOU have the options selected.

If it doesn't appear how it should, did it not even cross your mind that you may need to file a support ticket through Auctiva to find out what the problem is??? NO!! Instead you accuse Auctiva of being scammers. Bad on you!!!

You think you're the only one that your business depends on feedback? If you're misleading your customers and get reamed, it's not Auctiva's or anyone else's doing. If you have to write all your customers and revise your invoices, it's because of settings you have chosen, not Auctiva or anyone else. If you allow it to go through and stay a mess without following through and using the proper channels offered and readily available to you, just like they are to any of us, it's not Auctiva's or anyone else's doing. It's all on you, no matter who you choose to 'blame'.

Accusing Auctiva of scamming indeed! Hah! Then you go start another thread (I hope none of the volunteers here ever respond to that thread!) and you expect to get the help you need after such a 'blatant' accusation... Methinks you may need to wake up and smell the coffee dude! Mad
My Apologies to Auctiva And to all who responded. It was my mistake, I still do not see what happens on the buyers end. My solution is to keep insurance optional, then at least the customer understand he/she will have to pay for it. This happened a while ago but To clarify what I think happened was I set Insurance to required. Then the listing stated insurance was included. If I was a buyer I would think included means free, not added to S&H. Leaving the setting for optional seems to have solved this problem, except now very few opt for it, even on glass items. Again I appreciate the answers, I know I get hot under the collar at times but I really do not want to mislead customers. I also apologize for not responding until now. I did not know how to find the thread,(new word I learned today), don't forget I am a newbie. If Auctiva sees my discussion I may become a has-been. Thank You Very Much!! Mike

Nah, I doubt that. Yours is pretty mild compared to th' occasional really bad ones that pop up here. In my book, an apology goes a long way. Wink
Your response is much appreciated, like Ninth says. Smile

Welcome to th' community. Now that you know how to get back here, don't be a stranger. Lotsa nice folks 'round these here parts and always more to learn for all of us. Cool
