I have posted this message 2 other places on the board~~~~~PLEASE HELP!

I am also having this image problem and I am writing messages all over the boards until someone fixes this!
I deleted images a long time ago and now I see that they are still showing up in my ended auctions!
I do not want these images showing up!
I filled out a ticket and my answer was this~~~

Hi,

I apologize for the inconvenience.

You can like your ended listing not be displayed in your Auctiva store or store window, you can make it hidden in your Auctiva store at Auctiva -> Store(tab) -> Edit Items. Any items that are made hidden will no longer be displayed in your Auctiva store, nor will it be displayed in your store window the next time it refreshes, which it does about every 2 hours.

If you have any further query on the same issue feel free to revert back.

Thank you,
Auctiva Support.

Can anyone make sence of this??
I am talking about ENDED AUCTIONS! I have no idea what this is about.

I am going to copy this message and post it in another place which I hate to do but need a helpful answer!

Hi Pepedog,
If you click on IMAGES tab, right at top of page. Then under image hosting click on MANAGE IMAGES from there you can delete any image. OR you can click on the LISTINGS tab and right under that...and I do mean right under it (in green highlight) you will see...new listings, saved listings, scheduled, active, closed & folders. CLICK on CLOSED and delete any auction closed from there. Im semi-new but have learned quite a bit from trial and error, so I hope this was the answer you were looking for. If not I hope a more experienced person comes along to help. Good luck Smile

Hi Girls!
I first want to thank both of you for taking your time to help.
Now this is what I have done......I deleted most of these images weeks ago from Auctiva~~~~the images themselves do not show up in my image folders.
I just recently found out that all of these deleted images are still showing up in my closed auctions on Ebay. Remember~~I deleted these images weeks ago from my Auctiva folders.
Now~~ I did what you told me to do about deleting the closed listings. I still have images showing up!!
I am so frustrated!!
Here so many are complaining about no images and I can't get rid of mine no matter what I do.
I do know that when you have a image host and delete your images, they ALL do go away instantly.
Auctiva is different!
How do I clear my cache? I deleted my files but I don't see my cache. I'm not very smart!

When I started looking for help here, I noticed so many users upset with image problems. I read where some are accusing the servers~~bandwidth, etc. Well, like I said, I'm not very smart but if you delete images...many many many images and they still show up on Ebay, who is hosting them? What server is supporting these images??
Wouldn't this affect the bandwidth?
What if millions of deleted images are still out there using Auctiva's servers?? Wouldn't this cause problems?
Hi Pepedog!

From what I gather/understand, the recent dime-day-listing hiccup we had here on Auctiva wasn't a matter of too many images on the server. It was a executing issue, they tried to tidy up a little something in the software and the walls, unfortunately, came tumblin' down.

Most of those of us on here I believe 'prune' our images periodically, out of courtesy to the auctiva folks. The reason you are seeing the images still is most likely due to you seeing an 'old' version of the page - that's where the 'clearing cache' thing comes from...it makes sure you see the newest version of the page, and not the old.

As watchinu mentioned, (assuming you use internet explorer) you can clear your cache by going to 'tools' menu at the top of the screen, then 'internet options' - you'll be looking for 'delete cookies' or 'delete files'...click that. Then you'll be looking for another button that will be beside something like 'days to keep pages in memory' or something to that extent...clear that too.

After that, you *should* get the newest version of the page. Hope this helps!

Hi pepdog, I'm not sure how your images are still showing if you have deleted them from your image folder. Again, I suggest you clear your cache by going to the tools tab on your browser.

If they still show I'd suggest either posting a listing # so one of us can see if we see the images, OR file a support ticket by going to the help folder up top.
I'm at a complete loss with this one. If your images have actually been deleted from Auctiva then they should be gone from closed listings. This is why some people suggest not deleting old images because leaving them gives buyer and seller the opportunity to still go back a month or two later to verify/prove what the actual photos looked like (and lets the buyer compare the photo to the item).

Pepe, are you positive you didn't have the images stored in more than one folder and so maybe there are duplicates that also need to be deleted?

Assuming you don't, AngelLisa's advice is the best.
Thanks all of you for trying to help!
My images are still there and I have done everything!

I did delete all files~~cookies~~history~~everything! Twice!
I also did this a few days ago but did not know this was what Lisa was referring to for sure.

Any way here are some of my listing numbers~~~7412039672~~~7412295942~~~7412068369~~~7412063758~~~6276290177

I keep a copy of all images in my pictures on my computer for future refference but once feedback is exchanged, there is really no need to hold on to these images.

Rick, I have gone through all of my Auctiva folders over and over again and all images are gone.

Please let me know if anyone "does not" see images on these listings. Sometimes it takes a minute ot two but they do come back.
I'm not the only one with this problem....there has been others asking how to delete.
One girl right clicked them all gone and added different images. When she refreshed, she had ALL of them come back!
Thanks!
Hello

This should be simple\
Click on the Image tab in your Auctiva account.
Thin click the MANAGE Tab.

When the new window opens you will see 2 drop dowm menus. You want the top menu, the one named
Show images in This menu should defalut to the ALL FOLDERS option..
Look at the left hand side of all the Photos and you should see a CHECK BOX.
Simply check off all the images you want deleted
then click the DELETE button next to the second drop down menu at the top of the page.
POOF your images should be deleted..

You can also create a NEW image folder called something like IMAGES to Delete.
Move your images that are no longer needed into this new folder and simply delete the whole folder..

Personally we leave images up for at least 90 days after an auction closes or ends.
Unless web space is a problum and you are short on space we wouldn't delete any image. You never know when they might come in handy..

hope this helps

Auctiva has been having image - system troubles lately.

Your images might still be hanging around because Auctiva may have done a system backup - restore of some kind. This could explain why deleted images are still hanging around..

Delete them again and if that don't work I would take out a 12 gauge Shot gun and shoot the computer you are using. HEHE LOL Just fooling around :-)
Hi pepedog,

You should be able to accomplish this by going to Auctiva -> Images(tab) -> Manage Images. Just check the boxes next to the images you want to delete and click "Delete".

Images that are flagged as deleted will be permanently deleted once they have been flagged as deleted for 7 days.

In order to delete the images immediately, click on the "View deleted Image" button and check the boxes next to the appropriate images and click "Delete Permanently". This should remove the images from your listings.

If this doesn't work, please file a support case and tell us this feature is not working correctly.

Mike,
I have none of these images to delete~~I have deleted them all and also went into the deleted files and deleted some again!
Most of these images are not showing up anywhere but on Ebay!
I have filled a ticket out and posted a copy of what one of your helpers responded with that makes no sence at all!! Look at above message.
I am telling you~~~Nothing works!!
I have deleted them!!
If one more person tells me to delete them and how..I think I will scream!

We took a look at your auction #7412039672
and all those inages are still loading for us also.
In short if they are still loading for us you haven't really deleted them yet..

The Url below is an active image in your auctiva account for the above listed auction number.

Dave,
How did you get this url number?
I DO know that I have already done everything you told me to do~~~I did this long ago.
I do save these images in my pictures on my computer so if needed I can get them back.
All of these images ARE deleted from my Auctiva files and they do not show up there no longer!
They show on Ebay only!!
This can cause other problems as well even if having them deleted from closed Auctions is no big deal. So~~~while I got this started, I want to pursue it until I get some answers.
Others have tried to change images while an auction was going and could not do so because thier images were still showing up after deleted also.
Thanks for your help!

Yeah I viewed the source code of your auction page and pulled that photo URL out from within the code..

If you can't change photos in auctions already up and running because of this you can work around it by editing the source code of your auction page..

Delete the photo you don't want, then upload the new photo you do want.. Next go to EBAY and hit the revise button for the auction in question.. Then revise the discription, use the HTML code edit option.. Look through that code for the image url for the photo you DELETED and replace that URL with the URL of the new photo you just uploaded..

As long as you don't have any bids and there is more than 12 hours left you can use this work-a-round..
However if you do have bids you can't edit the discription anymore, you can only add to it..
You could always add the new photo URL but your old photo url will still be in place..

Okay, I won't say it again, lol. Wow, I'm stumped on this one. Have you filed a help ticket? If so what did they say? If its been awhile I'd send them another one.

Although I really don't understand why you wouldn't want pics in your closed listings, I haven't a clue why they are there if you've deleted them. They are trapped in space some where.
Hi pepedog,

The images are supposed to vanish off the face of the planet once you use the magic "Delete Permanently" button on the "View Deleted Images Page".

Currently, it seems like this is not the case so I'll communicate this information with our engineering department. I appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

Hi Lisa and everyone else!
Thanks for all your help!
Auctiva Mike is going to check into this with his engineers.
Lisa, once in awhile you really don't care to have lookers snooping in your closed auctions for various reasons, it is really no big deal but this is why a lot of sellers make their bidders private. For instance~~you might buy a "group" or a "lot" of certain items and then resale them on Ebay. Some buyers and sellers really do not want others to see what was purchased in the past.
I had one person contact me asking me to delete the images from my auction that she had won.
I told her that I had deleted these images long ago and this is how this whole thing started.
And yes, Lisa, I did fill out a ticket~~~please look at one of the first messages in this topic and look at the answer they gave me.

Meantime I have filled out another ticket and the person responded saying he was going to transfer this to his supervisor.
Auctiva Mike also wrote a message here since then.
I heard that Auctiva had a bandwidth problem in the past.
This could be the reason why.
Can you imagine how many images their server is hosing if even only half of the images don't delete?
I really know nothing about this but I have learned that images just don't show up without a host.
Anyway~~now this is more of a principal issue then anything else. I'm sure some people are curious and if something is going on with the servers, it will affect all of us at one time or another so I am bound and determined to find out how this is happening. Even if this gets fixed, I still would like to know how these images are showing up.
Read what Mike wrote last.

Is everyone out there sure that their deleted images are not still showing up on Ebay's closed auctions?

I sure am curious as to how this is happening!
If you need to get into my sites let me know and I will give you passwords~~if you don't already have them!
