Hi Community,

One more time - We just pushed out another attempted fix for this issue that we hope will address the problem being discussed in this thread. You will need to clear your cache to make sure that your browser loads the new code on the lister page.

If you clear your cache and continue to experience the problem with the description editor, please let us know by replying to this thread. Thanks!

Hi Community,

Update - It appears that the fix we just pushed out may have resolved the problem causing the description editor not to show up, and we are currently working on a fix for the issue that is causing the Post, Save, and Schedule buttons to be greyed out for some users.

I will post again to this thread when this next fix is implemented. If any of you have cleared your cache since my last post and are still having problems with the description editor, please let us know by posting to this thread. Thanks!

=pouts= i didn't break nothing, i swear!

everything was working fine up until about 3 minutes ago.

i lost my description, it went poof! bye bye!

yes i cleared my cache & all that kind of technical like stuff people who know computers tell me to do
i even rebooted! (i RARELY turn my pc off so this was a big deal for me LOL) Big Grin

i'm feeling my age & was considering a little nap before the kids get home so i'm guessing this was my sign that i SHOULD go nap Frown

i'll check back periodically for updates

thanks Auctiva! & i hope everyone is selling LOTS!
not only are there problems with the description editor and buttons on the lister page, but, know this. i used to program, and so, what i think is that a part of the code was changed and it was not made to apply to all functions that we sellers use here. why do i say this, mike?

because:

1. today i cannot click on a link for my case to see what you want from me before you proceed to work on the case.

2. for at least 2 days, i have made a listing as an AUCTION item, beginning with x as a start price, and y as the reserve price.

3. i have saved the listing, and saved the listing as new, well over 15 times.

4. i have gotten an API error every time i look at my scheduled listings page (because it will NOT post to ebay for this API error that says that Java is running, but it is not), as well as each and every time that

5. i go in, look to see if any parentheses are what are causing the listing not to be uploaded to ebay, but no matter what i do, including:

6. taking all of my wording for the description, putting it into Notepad, and then copying and pasting such plain text into your editor, then formatting ON your editor, then telling your system to POST IT NOW,

7. i STILL can't post it.

this has happened at least 20 times.

i also have redone the terms of all objects within the standard wording included in my "template" wording.

NOTHING will cause this listing to post!

Hi Community,

Update - We just pushed out a fix that is intended to resolve the problem that has been causing the Post, Save, and Schedule buttons to be greyed out for some users, so we're hoping both that problem and the issue with the description editor have been resolved as this point. You will need to clear your cache to make sure that your browser loads the new code on the lister page.

If you were previously experiencing these problems and are able to test this out, please let us know the results by replying to this thread. Thanks!

Hi kikkilu,

Since you are receiving an API error stating your listing cannot be posted because it contains objectionable Java Script code, it is indicative that eBay rejected your listing because it contains Java Script code that is not allowed by eBay policy. A technical error on our end would not account for that error being returned.

If you contact our customer support team by completing the web form on the following page, our support staff will be able to help you identify what needs to be changed to allow your listing to be posted: http://www.auctiva.com/help/requesthelp.aspx

kindly refer to my post earlier today. yep, of course i cleared my cache and cookies. i'm on mozilla firefox 3.x.

the final time i tried to post my object out for sale, which is a little earlier than now, after i cleared the cache and cookies, had been the time when:

1. i had taken my item description text, copied it, pasted it into a unicode text document using Notepad, and then put THAT plain text into the editor.

2. please note that NOW the last post mentioned in no. 1 above is not there. it is not in scheduled, and it is not in saved. that is, i guess, because i chose to post it as it was since for the past 2 days, all error checks passed.

so, now it makes it over 20 times i have tried to post ONE listing, still showing me an:

API error, the source of which i have no idea.

can you look at your HTML? is anything there, in the HTML editor, causing java script to run???

thanks, but it is payday and this item should have posted two days ago. PLEASE READ THE POSTING RESPONSE TO YOU that i placed about an hour or two ago on today, 9.5.08.

sincerely, dallas
YEAH, QUEENIE! I'm having the same exact problem... time waster, but I can get around it on most listings, by monkeying around a bit. I guess I need to just clear my cache again and again. Photos upload fine, just can't save. Forget trying to schedule; that's too scary right now, I'll wait til D-day.
Hi.
I am now able to click on the post, and schedule buttons, but when i do it will not post.
There is a message on the bottom of the editor that says,
There is an image in your description that is located on your computer. To avoid this, insert all images using the image button of the description editor.
I have always inserted my pictures by just clicking on the select image boxes under image selection.
Is anyone else having this problem, or do i have to do it the way it is telling me now.
OK . Mike .. Yesterday told you that I pulled up an OLD auction from MARCH . I was able to add pix .. (firefox 3.0) change text .. do anything .. but NOT with new CODE in there .. I tried to do a phony auction .. did NOT work . .could NOT see anything .. could NOT add pix from 'those stored here' . .I can UPLOAD . but cannot change them to # this or that .. NOPE .. that was yesterday . have NOT tried today as I do NOT want to even try .. But though worth mentioning again ..

NOW perhaps . IF I had taken THAT auction .. changed it all to 'something new to auction' . .may have worked with OLD code .all buttons worked .. everything was JUST fine????
the thing that drives me up the wall (!) about the description editor is that if i want to change my font colors, sometimes the new color displays and sometimes, more often, it will NOT change.

this happens no matter what i do. the reason i want to change the color of the font is because i might have chosen another template and the old colors don't go well with it. and so, i then am forced to go back and find the older template, the one that i do not want to use anymore, and post using that one!

grrrrrrrr!
