i'm having the same problem too-everything looked just fine wheni logged in..was working on item details; after i finished tried to save; confirmation panel ghosted red then green and confirmed the save, but it's not there and now none of my listing profiles are there..

And BTW guys i use MS IE so it's not an exclusive firefox problem
I have tried IE, FF and Safari with the same problem. Sometimes descriptions load OK...but at other times they load as a ghost then slowly fade away and sometimes the description section just loads up blank. Very frustrating. Also don't like that they took away the "drag and drop" image loader that only worked with IE. The new image loader is much slower no matter which browser I use!
I'm having the same problem. At first I was getting something HORRIBLE with blue-on-blue and everything all on the left side of the screen with all the links in one long column, but refreshing got rid of that.

But now I';m having the ghost problem. I even tried using the "IE TAB" that can be used in FF, and it doesn't work either.

I can't list!!!!!
Firefox 3.0 is what I am using and the same thing is happening to me. This is why I continue to pay for Mr Poster. If this is still a problem tomorrow I will forget the nice looking listings and list with Mr Poster
What always bothers me about the online version is that there is never anything on the website which tells you if there is a problem. If there was, we wouldn't waste our time trying to list items during this kind of a downtime
Hi Community,

Our technical team implemented a fix that we hoped would resolve this problem last night, however, you may need to clear your cache for your browser to load the new code from the lister page. You can clear your cache in the Firefox browser via the following process:

-> Please select "Clear Private Data" from the "Tools" menu, ensure the boxes next to "cache" and "cookies" are checked, and then click the "Clear Private Data Now" button.

Once this process has been completed, close and re-open your Firefox web browser for the changes to take effect. Also, please ensure that only one browser window is open when you are doing this or your cache may not empty properly.

If you continue to experience this problem after clearing your cache, please let us know by posting to this thread.

-Mike
I did check the IE side and it still works fine for me. You can tell its a little glitchy but usable. Everyone needs to keep in mind that with Ebay constantly changing there site that all sites like auctiva also have to adapt to the new rules and changes. When the auctiva site had that major picture crash awhile back I noticed then just how many users on ebay are using auctiva as a host for pictures and listing. Its pretty massive.
Here is what I sent to Auctiva today AFTER being told yesterday to clear cache (I always know to do those cookies/cache etc stuff)
Posted Thursday, 9/4/2008 6:27 AM After saving auction because NO way to POST as all buttons NOT active except save . cannot use 'charges ebay' .. cannot see what I wrote . not able to scroll text I wrote .. Mike . it is a MESS .. I thought it would be working today . NOT .. I have a screen shot of what it looks like .. cannot use bold/color/font anything there .. it is like a veil over everything . IF it shows at all . sometimes it is totally gone.. the HTML button does NOT work . I don't want it anyway .. the large page does .but NO way to select anything/buttons there only SAVE ..

I wrote to you yesterday .. all I got was 'let me know if clearing cache/cookies/etc. does not help' . I replied and was sent back here . meanwhile, I gave up and about to give up totally .. NO MORE LISTING .. I will NOT use IE .. says it is supposed to work w/Firefox . that is what I have 3.0 .. does NOT work at all . I wanted to add a 'saved' pix .. the numbers do not move . there are NO numbers as there always were .. A MESS! AND it keeps changing from $ to C

The Auction IS saved in my listings .. along with a bunch of ALREADY SOLD listings .. but it is a HUGE MESS!

Thank you ..

Customer
Posted Thursday, 9/4/2008 6:30 AM I just SAVED it again and takes me to SAME AUCTION I HAVE been working on for HOURS . DAYS .. Again it has C and NOT $ .. a HUGE MESS .. I give UP! .. null

Here is what was came up after I saved .. start new auction:
(Removed URL I sent to them) .. I also have a screen shot of the GHOSTING .. cannot do anything ... why NOT put it back as it was? ..
Customer
Posted Thursday, 9/4/2008 6:32 AM BTW . I TOTALLY know how to clear all cache/history/cookies .. and do it constantly .. a HUGE MESS is all I have to say .. now I have two listings of same auction or is it 3 . there were 4 yesterday

Thought I would Add to the FORUM .. did NOT get any reply to 'add to ticket' .. I am sure they are trying to fix it .. but have a feeling I won't be around 'in life' before it is doneSmile I do NOT like IE .. Chrome is NOT something I want to agree to their terms .. soooo I shall just go away and buy something .. Y'all should read what google wants you to agree to in the EULA before using it! ..

Ooops already did that .. something else I did NOT need ..

I JUST managed to get Auctiva to POST to eBay . BUT only via saved listing page .. Other page still ghosting .. buttons do NOT work .. did NOT seem to work when I said "LIST" . .then got a popup asking if I wanted to . yes, then said was .. IS NOT like it was with little dots going across . but there it is in my eBay .. I revised it there . BUT still would not take MORE photos and sooo .. really is NOT working properly .. IMHO .. but Mike & crew will probably get it together? ..

Interesting find....

I also tried it with a blank new listing page to force the frame to load. That seems to at times work too (more than one try was required on several tests). It does make me think there is a "loading" function that's not getting completion correct 100% of the time. I was also able to Preview the test, so save does work.

Oh...and Auctiva is asking for feedback for problem on a thread in the "Getting Started" section.

Hi Community,

Update - Our technical team just pushed out another fix that we hope will resolve this problem and it would be great if a few of you can let us know if the problem is still occurring. Again, you may need to clear your cache to make sure your browser loads the new code from that page.

If you continue experiencing this problem after clearing your browser cache, please let us know by posting a reply to this thread. Thanks!

-Mike
Same here. How are we supposed to list an ad when we can't see our own description. "Saving" it doesn't work. Sometimes the pics load, sometimes not. Sometimes the font/type stays put, others times not. Auctiva not responding to emails.

The past month has been a horror show.

I'm sure our user agreement makes ALL of this OUR fault.

Again, I guess what we pay for.
Mike,

I cleared cache and cookies. Got a saved page to load (one created today) and description frame did load OK.

Tried the same with the new Listing page, and no load. Same white. Tried the trick with running Error Check, and it sometimes loads for a short time and then winks out. 3 attempts and no load.

Went back to the prior Saved Listing and it DOES LOAD the frame.

Don't know if that's a partial fix for Saved ones. But, it's at least a problem not 100% fixed.

MikeSmile . Thanks for YOUR reply to my MANY additions to first complaintSmile .. I DID get the ONE auction UP . WAS not able to put the photos on that I wanted there .. Only way I could get the photos was to UPLOAD again .. remove what was there . upload . .sooooFrown .. I could NOT put the paypal logo there .. NOT a problem as it says so .. but used to be able to remove number on each photo and change them around (Firefox) . I have NO other auctions to post ..

I DID find that IF you use the LARGE editor you could change things.. but could not use buttons there .. I revised via eBay to make the changes could NOT make here ..

I will not use IE . we do not get along w/each otherSmile ..

Thanks, Mike!

Mike .. OKSmile . I just went into an auction I had
LONG ago . did NOT sell .. I was able to add photo as before .. #9 .. AND .. all TEXT showed up .. It IS an OLD auction from March . .think. .but still IT seems to be FINE? .. I did NOT clear cache or cookies this time . forgotFrown . but it worked and yet with the one (auction) did post a bit ago .. did NOT work with Firefox 3.0 .. is it just a coincidence that I tried with an old auction or not? .. Dunno and Not planning on listing anything else today .. Smile

OOOPS. dunno what it is . .decided to go and try a false listing .. same thing as before . totally blank page (description) .. I did not try adding any pix to it . soooo IT worked fine with an OLD listing.. but NOT for a new oneFrown
What a mess! Who cares how the site looks. It doesn't work. I'm having multiple issues.
1. No saved descriptions showing.
2. Save, Post, Schedule tabs not working.
3. Changes in details profiles not being saved. This has been on goinfg on for weeks.
4. Combined and promotional shipping choices not being saved. This has been going on for over a month!
5. Live Chat unavailble for 2 weeks.

Bottom line is no listings today! And of course I blocked today specifically for listings.

Ever get the feeling that Ebay is making sure that Auctiva can't keep up with these changes so you are forced to use them for listings and pay the schedule and template fees. Greed-bay just will not quit! I am always being hounded by Ebay solicitors who are pushing Vendio, Channel Advisor, Kyozou etc as services. They never recommend Auctiva. Seems to me they are trying to eliminate them. I have stuck by Auctiva for over a year but the frequency of issus is becoming just that: frequent.
Extremely frustrated and losing money by the second...

Mike,

To be clear on what I'm seeing....

The two onclick links for HTML and Full Size Editor do appear.

The code that immediately follows that involves an IFRAME for a reference page that I'm guessing is the editor frame load. It's that specific code that sometimes appears and either winks-out or fades to white.

I did look at the Template editor for a quick check, and didn't see the problem. Does look like it's using similar code for the top page. However, that page initially loads with HTML view instead of the page layout view.

Danno

Oh...and should add that I'm not seeing any errors, hourglass, or any indication that the page load isn't complete on failure.

Mike-
Thanks for taking the time to communicate with us. I, for one, appreciate it.

I've cleared my cookies & cache, but that only worked once. So whatever you and your team can come up with next would be most appreciated. I enjoy using your free service and would like to continue to.

Thank you,

SNL .. I was ABLE to LIST via saved page .. I clicked on POST or LIST (forgetSmile and said 'posting to eBay' after it asked 'is this right?' .. Then I went in via eBay to REVISE that way .. KNOW you can use the LARGE ? next to HTML (that does NOTHING for me) to see your text and change there . but cannot see any buttons .. just HUGE page with text .. IF you have listings ready . might try that . good Luck!... I was able to LIST the one I had ..

AND . this is weird .. why should ALL Look JUST fine with an old auction from MARCH? .. No problem seeing it as it used to be or adding photos? ..

Good luck ALL!
I thought it might be a Firefox-based situation (Auctiva won't respond to this inquiry), so I was happy to see your solution. Unfortunately, now I can't even TYPE anything because neither method of typing a description (HTML, or other) is working. Also I figured at least I could save the title, category, etc., but the SAVE button won't work.
Thanks everybody..
I have found a few work arounds to keep the day going.
1. use full size editor to get description - edit description
2. use "preview" to bring up the "save as" tab
3. hit "save as"
4. back out to "saved listings" and post or schedule from there. seems to be working.
Whew! Didn't think i was that Auctiva savvy!

so Auctiva.. give me a job!
I wanted to let everyone know I have discovered a simple workaround for the disappearing description frame when opening a saved listing in Firefox.

1.Open the listing and wait for the description section to disappear.
2. Right click between the gray and orange thin borders on the sides and select 'View Background Image'.
3. Click the back button.

You should now be able to edit the description.
I hope if not already done, these problems will be fixed soon. Things NOT working right that I have seen so far:
The description section in saved listings does not load - sometimes it will load if you refresh the page numerous times and wait a couple minutes..or if you exit the saved listing and go back into it again.
Changes made to pictures in a listing do not save right. If you edit your pictures in a listing and hit save to save the changes you just made, if you go back into the listing, the pictures are all messed up and include ones you deleted and deleted ones that you saved. This is very annoying.
Hi Community,

Update - It has also been brought to our attention that the issue described in this thread is also causing users to be unable to select images from the Auctiva images selector and the Post, Save, and Schedule buttons to be greyed out in certain cases. There behaviors all appear to be related to the same underlying problem, so they should all be resolved at the same time.

While our technical team is still working to get this issue resolved as soon as possible, we still haven't been able to come up with a workable solution to this problem, so there is a chance we may not be able to get this resolved today.

I will post further updates on this situation to this thread as additional information becomes available. If we will not be able to get a fix for this issue out today, I will let you all know before I leave for the day.

-Mike
Well....it seems to be something every single day and it is getting VERY, VERY old. A while ago when there were some problems...no images showing on eBay, I was on this chat, telling the angry people to be patient, Auctiva is great and they are diligent and will fix it asap. I am changing my mind. I can't take it anymore. Every day I am getting further and further behind with my listing. How long are we supposed to do this??? I know. Forever. It's free and Auctiva knows that they have us forever unless we want to pay eBay fees. I guess you get what you pay for, huh?
Barb
I too was told to use IE. I don't like IE at all, but I tried it and it still didn't work for me either.

The only way I can mine to work is to clear all private data, close Firefox, open Firefox back up, login to Auctiva....and then it will work. But that is too time consuming for me. I have a lot of items to list.

Hopefully tomorrow it will work.
Hi Community,

Update - We just pushed out a fix for the issue that has been causing some users to be unable to upload images and we have reason to believe that may fix the issue with the editor that has been discussed on this thread as well. You will need to clear your cache to make sure that your browser loads the new code on the lister page.

If you clear your cache and continue to experience the problem with the description editor, please let us know by replying to this thread. Thanks!

Hi Community,

Update - We have heard back from a few users and unfortunately it appears that this problem is still occurring for some. Our technical team is going to continue working on a solution to this problem and we will have it resolved as soon as possible. I will post further updates on this issue to this thread as additional information becomes available.

At this point, it seems unlikely that we are going to be able to get something in place to resolve this issue tonight, so you may not hear from me until tomorrow. Thanks for understanding.

-Mike
Mike, THANK YOU, I appreciate you keeping us ALL INFORMED.. I used to be like everyone else here..

Cheers, CS
Hi Community,

Update - We just pushed out a fix for the issue that we hope will address the problem being discussed in this thread. You will need to clear your cache to make sure that your browser loads the new code on the lister page.

If you clear your cache and continue to experience the problem with the description editor, please let us know by replying to this thread. I'll check this thread again tomorrow morning and, if we find this fix didn't do the trick either, our technical team will resume working on a resolution for this issue.

Thanks again!

Mike,

As of 5:30 EDT the same problem exists. I checked my scheduled listings and there was no description, but if I cleared the cache and cookies the description appeared. I can only hope it is really there when this kicks off Sunday night. For those listing, the work around is to clear the cache before EACH listing. Takes only a couple of seconds longer than usual, and this new online lister seems to be slower than it was before. Naturally it helps to keep a subscription to Mr Poster, as I do. It's insurance for times like this. Mr P is a great piece of software!
Already saved listings seem to be OK as long as you don't even touch them. However if you make any revisions of any kind, then the description is still disappearing.

Yesterday you could right click and do the show background image and then hit the back button. Today the "background image" selection is greyed out and cannot be selected.

And the pages also seem to be doing a lot of dancing and jumping around which makes you wonder if what you are seeing is really what would be posted to Ebay.
I agree with allabouthorses, I don't know what will be listed with ebay. I am sure that if things don't load properly, the Auctiva Community will be blasting Auctiva by Monday. What always troubles me on Auctiva changes is the way the changes were tested/not tested. I absolutely cannot believe that these problems would not show up in beta testing. Then again, the user community has no way of knowing IF the changes were tested before moving to production. I know we should not knock something that is free, but every listing that lists wrong costs a minimum of 40 cents on ebay. Multiply that out and this is no longer free.
10AM Eastern Time and still problems, report them to tech support and they refered me to this forum.
Already saved listings are ok as long as you don't have to make changes, if you do the description still dissapears AND the Post, Schedule and other buttons are not working.
You can not update any scheduled listing at this point
Even when you try to do a new listing you can not do any of this.
Please advise when fixed. This is causing hours of extra work.
Hi; I cleared my cache and cookies. my description page is working now. However the Post, Schedule, and Save tabs are still greyed out, therefore I cannot list. I have found a way to get around this but it is time consuming.
Click on an item in saved listings
click on the save as new for that item
return to the saved listings tab and click ok in the pop up box
click on the new saved listing you can edit and and add new photos
save as new again
go back to the saved listing tab and click ok in the pop up box
click the schedule box and schedule your listing
I hope this helps others
I also hope this is fixed soon as I have been very successful here. thank you support team
Still issues, but my already scheduled items are working fine. I decided rather than waste any more time I am just going to list straight through ebay and pay the extra $$ (mine is about 1.40 per) - time is money (as they say) and instead of waiting I am just moving on.

I know they will get it fixed sooner or later, probably by Monday.
Hi Community,

One more time - We just pushed out another attempted fix for this issue that we hope will address the problem being discussed in this thread. You will need to clear your cache to make sure that your browser loads the new code on the lister page.

If you clear your cache and continue to experience the problem with the description editor, please let us know by replying to this thread. Thanks!

Hi Community,

Update - It appears that the fix we just pushed out may have resolved the problem causing the description editor not to show up, and we are currently working on a fix for the issue that is causing the Post, Save, and Schedule buttons to be greyed out for some users.

I will post again to this thread when this next fix is implemented. If any of you have cleared your cache since my last post and are still having problems with the description editor, please let us know by posting to this thread. Thanks!

=pouts= i didn't break nothing, i swear!

everything was working fine up until about 3 minutes ago.

i lost my description, it went poof! bye bye!

yes i cleared my cache & all that kind of technical like stuff people who know computers tell me to do
i even rebooted! (i RARELY turn my pc off so this was a big deal for me LOL) Big Grin

i'm feeling my age & was considering a little nap before the kids get home so i'm guessing this was my sign that i SHOULD go nap Frown

i'll check back periodically for updates

thanks Auctiva! & i hope everyone is selling LOTS!
not only are there problems with the description editor and buttons on the lister page, but, know this. i used to program, and so, what i think is that a part of the code was changed and it was not made to apply to all functions that we sellers use here. why do i say this, mike?

because:

1. today i cannot click on a link for my case to see what you want from me before you proceed to work on the case.

2. for at least 2 days, i have made a listing as an AUCTION item, beginning with x as a start price, and y as the reserve price.

3. i have saved the listing, and saved the listing as new, well over 15 times.

4. i have gotten an API error every time i look at my scheduled listings page (because it will NOT post to ebay for this API error that says that Java is running, but it is not), as well as each and every time that

5. i go in, look to see if any parentheses are what are causing the listing not to be uploaded to ebay, but no matter what i do, including:

6. taking all of my wording for the description, putting it into Notepad, and then copying and pasting such plain text into your editor, then formatting ON your editor, then telling your system to POST IT NOW,

7. i STILL can't post it.

this has happened at least 20 times.

i also have redone the terms of all objects within the standard wording included in my "template" wording.

NOTHING will cause this listing to post!

Frown Frown Frown
Hi Community,

Update - We just pushed out a fix that is intended to resolve the problem that has been causing the Post, Save, and Schedule buttons to be greyed out for some users, so we're hoping both that problem and the issue with the description editor have been resolved as this point. You will need to clear your cache to make sure that your browser loads the new code on the lister page.

If you were previously experiencing these problems and are able to test this out, please let us know the results by replying to this thread. Thanks!

Hi kikkilu,

Since you are receiving an API error stating your listing cannot be posted because it contains objectionable Java Script code, it is indicative that eBay rejected your listing because it contains Java Script code that is not allowed by eBay policy. A technical error on our end would not account for that error being returned.

If you contact our customer support team by completing the web form on the following page, our support staff will be able to help you identify what needs to be changed to allow your listing to be posted: http://www.auctiva.com/help/requesthelp.aspx

kindly refer to my post earlier today. yep, of course i cleared my cache and cookies. i'm on mozilla firefox 3.x.

the final time i tried to post my object out for sale, which is a little earlier than now, after i cleared the cache and cookies, had been the time when:

1. i had taken my item description text, copied it, pasted it into a unicode text document using Notepad, and then put THAT plain text into the editor.

2. please note that NOW the last post mentioned in no. 1 above is not there. it is not in scheduled, and it is not in saved. that is, i guess, because i chose to post it as it was since for the past 2 days, all error checks passed.

so, now it makes it over 20 times i have tried to post ONE listing, still showing me an:

API error, the source of which i have no idea.

can you look at your HTML? is anything there, in the HTML editor, causing java script to run???

thanks, but it is payday and this item should have posted two days ago. PLEASE READ THE POSTING RESPONSE TO YOU that i placed about an hour or two ago on today, 9.5.08.

sincerely, dallas
YEAH, QUEENIE! I'm having the same exact problem... time waster, but I can get around it on most listings, by monkeying around a bit. I guess I need to just clear my cache again and again. Photos upload fine, just can't save. Forget trying to schedule; that's too scary right now, I'll wait til D-day.
Hi.
I am now able to click on the post, and schedule buttons, but when i do it will not post.
There is a message on the bottom of the editor that says,
There is an image in your description that is located on your computer. To avoid this, insert all images using the image button of the description editor.
I have always inserted my pictures by just clicking on the select image boxes under image selection.
Is anyone else having this problem, or do i have to do it the way it is telling me now.
OK . Mike .. Yesterday told you that I pulled up an OLD auction from MARCH . I was able to add pix .. (firefox 3.0) change text .. do anything .. but NOT with new CODE in there .. I tried to do a phony auction .. did NOT work . .could NOT see anything .. could NOT add pix from 'those stored here' . .I can UPLOAD . but cannot change them to # this or that .. NOPE .. that was yesterday . have NOT tried today as I do NOT want to even try .. But though worth mentioning again ..

NOW perhaps . IF I had taken THAT auction .. changed it all to 'something new to auction' . .may have worked with OLD code .all buttons worked .. everything was JUST fine????
the thing that drives me up the wall (!) about the description editor is that if i want to change my font colors, sometimes the new color displays and sometimes, more often, it will NOT change.

this happens no matter what i do. the reason i want to change the color of the font is because i might have chosen another template and the old colors don't go well with it. and so, i then am forced to go back and find the older template, the one that i do not want to use anymore, and post using that one!

grrrrrrrr!
