I filled out a customer service ticket yesterday and no answer yet, so I thought somebody here could help. I sold my widget...offered parcel and priority ...when item sold I sent a invoice.

I get a notice he paid through paypal, so when I click on it it says he picked priority with no insurance...ok, so I wrap up in a priority box, bubble peanuts and all and tape it up, print postage and mail it.

so far so good,,,,right? NO

I get a notice in my email later that he purchased insurance and I owe 105...wait, he paid 826 for shipping and priority to his location plus insurance is more...so I look up the invoice in auctiva and it says he picked PARCEL....

so maybe I misread something....I go and click on the closed auction shipping and item total which brings up the ebay checkout....it says priority with no insurance.

so both paypal and ebay sent me notices that say ship priority with no insurance and auctiva says ship parcel with insurace....how can they not say the same thing.

so basically I am out $1.05 because I have already shipped priority like ebay and paypal said.

I thought I had auctiva checkout turned off because when you go to that page it says click here to enable checkout. I thought it was disabled then. I guess I was wrong because when I clicked on it it had a check in the box yes for auctiva checkout.

So, can I turn checkout off for current auctions
What can I do in the future...not believe ebay or paypal notices??? I am really confused.

Hi Ms.Killion & Community,

This discrepancy is actually due to a "bug" in Paypal's system concerning their handling of 3rd party checkout systems, such as ours. When a customer completes the Auctiva checkout process, Paypal lists the first shipping service offered on the listing on their notifications, rather than the actual shipping service selected by the buyer. We have brought this to their attention but they have yet to give us any indication of if/when it will be address.

When using Auctiva Checkout, I reccomend using the Auctiva "Checkout Complete" notification to confirm the shipping service selected by your buyer. Or, you can access the same information at any time by clicking the "Checkout Details" link next to the item on your Auctiva "Transactions" page.

I have found that Auctiva is right, too. As an added precaution, though, I created an email template that verifies shipping method, address, insurance, etc. that I send after I receive the Auctiva checkout email. If the email info is right, the buyer doesn't have to do anything, if there are mistakes, they can email the corrections. It may be overkill, but I'm just starting out and I can't afford mistakes at this point and every dollar counts too!
This is a big flaw. Auctiva has a problem with paypal, so I have a problem with paypal? No, my problem is with Auctiva. This just cost me a $15, and I am not even sure if the customer's $600 item is covered by insurance because I didn't ship the way Auctiva's checkout shows I did. Combined with the fact that Auctiva still lets eBay customers buy Auctiva insurance on UPS deliveries that are under $100 even though insurance is provided at no extra charge by UPS renders Auctiva checkout and insurance as a liability to me, and I will discontinue using them. It is a shame these issues aren't explained to Auctiva users before they create problems. While Auctiva has been of much assistance to me, as I increase my number of sales, the number of bugs with Auctiva makes Auctiva like a beta test program.
