Hi All,
I know there are several threads regarding the slowness issues, I am starting a new one because this is RIDICULOUS!

Time out errors because it is so slow. Have to try 3 times! Can't upload pics now! Waiting on Auctiva is a common message!

YES! MY CACHE is CLEARED! Please look into this issue!

Timed out early this a.m.. . had internet provider out AGAIN yesterday!!! Again, they say it is not them!!! Again, they say IF it was them it would be on all sites!! Not just auctiva??

Auctiva, I think it is time you stepped up to the plate and let us know WHAT you are planning to do IF anything about this constant issue. IF you say nothing, my assumption would be that you are NOT going to do a thing about it!! Silence, once again, is NOT golden and really sends the message that this is an ignored issue.
Hi Community,

Thanks for posting about the behavior you have been experiencing here. I'm not sure what has caused the various errors reported on this thread but our error messages that contain codes such as "e740ace3-c8f0-42e2-9f9f-e2b285fa3c71" are generally indicative that our service is having trouble getting the requested data from our database.

While an issue causing error messages of this nature may cause the Auctiva website to be slower than usual in general, an error like this would not be generated as a result of a general timeout when trying to access the Auctiva website.

I have made our engineering team aware of these reports so they can look into what may be causing them, but it would also be helpful if those of you who are still encountering error messages of this nature file support cases containing the details of the errors.

You can contact our customer support team by mousing over the "Help" tab within your account and selecting the "File Support Case" option. Please include the details of the error you received and a description of what you were doing when the error was generated in your message.

We apologize for any inconveniences these errors have caused.

Ed Neff.. funny!!! Does seem that way lately. . .

Mike, seriously we should write support with this every time???? That is a huge time consumer. .we have sent information to support several times I believe. writing on forums lets others know that it is not just their issue, AND it is much faster than doing the dance with the normal support personnel. I am sure we all know the dance so I do not need to repeat it.

But do thank you for the response, it is appreciated very much. Look forward to hearing back on the root of this issue so we can hopefully avoid it in future. do find it hard to believe that there would be such a HIGH VOLUME OF REQUESTS at all of the times I have posted.

Thanks again Mike, please keep us posted.
I am curious - are you trying to post right away? I have never done that - I've always scheduled listings. Service was better when free - if nothing else you had Mr Poster which was far superior to the online lister. I continue to say, if other auction sites and third party listers can create a better environment why can't Auctiva? I put mist of the blame now on the fact that it is owned by another company - and this says it all :

Founded in 1999 in Hangzhou, China

All that matters is the bottom line. Unhappy? Leave. This is a huge operation that has Auctiva as maybe even a tax write off. The quality of service is not going to get better.

Alibaba.com completed its US$1.7 billion initial public offering on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in November 2007, the biggest Internet IPO at the time since Google's 2004 offering on the NASDAQ

Now, do you really think they care about our $9.95 a month?
Irritation to the max.. . after that last error report, I hit post again assuming that since there was error the items did not list. Also, did not get the long string of like 99 listings showing that I relisted. So went and posted. Afterwards I happened to check and all were posted the lst round and 2nd round.. so 99 listings had to be removed or I would have duplicates. Auctiva this is costing me money and time. Thankfully I think I caught them all.
It seems like the best thing to do is check each time to see if something really posted, though I admit that it is a nightmare and very time consuming to do one at a time. I know you said you can't do your listings via a schedule, but what if you just batched them in small lots of say 5-10 at a time and posted those, wait a couple of minutes and check to see if they all posted. I've not hit that problem maybe because of the thing on the scheduling page that says they will retry for 30 minutes to repost the items if they can't post. If that is so, then hand posting against a computer taking everyones listings (especially on free days) and retrying them until they post is like trying to break through a brick wall by running into it. I would think more people than you are having this problem.
Thanks Greg could do as schedules, but in past that has been issue for numerous sellers, obviously do not want to start something new and get hooked when it works on and off also. Some of people are checking their listings each morning to make sure their listings have not duplicated when they schedule. I just do not want to go through that daily. . plus if ebay catches it first that is problem. Surprisingly they caught 2 or 3 I did in similar situation awhile back within minutes of the 2nd one hitting ebay. (wrong place wrong time for me I guess, right place right time for the bots of ebay, I was STUNNED to say the least as I had caught and ended by the time I checked email & saw they had also ended one of the two (usually not the one I did of course) .

I think "more people" is just not here anymore, they have left or given up and figure it is wasted time to write. Even when things are in total haywire (outages, etc.,) there seem to be about 25 people putting on forums - (ok we will say 50) because I know last time there were very few people hollaring outage!!

I know what I need to do. . .just need to get in the mindset and DO IT!!! First am going to put some things on site besides ebay and see how that goes on some discontinued cosmetics.
Keep in mind you also compete individually against probably every other place that gives free scheduling including all the TL folks. I've got to believe there are more of them than anything else, and on free days they just load up. TL is quirky I admit and twice it died while uploading over the past 18 months I have been using it for consignment stuff. For me, I could not deal with the can't post thing that folks are running in to. As I have about 6 months of rotating auctions, I'm about half through them now. Once complete I won't need (I hope) Auctiva for auctions. Then its just a chore to get all my other listings in my store ended, downloaded and restarted with a new provider. I probably should start on that in January
I would sure love to think (fantasize) that is only issue free days...but this has become the norm on any day, anytime. Frankly, IF I thought free days were only problem I just would not list at all those days and do photos rather than twiddle my thumbs waiting on this to work. I rarely use free days though probably should.

Let us know how your new plan goes. . .I may be running a clearance sale to minimize the workload.

Auctiva, what else do you need. I did write support and told them to read this link with link included. Cut/pasting all of this over is craziness. If you need other details let me know.
Good point. Make you hate the old one so no matter what the new one is like you'll embrace it. I agree the scrolling is awful, even in Opera which surprised me. Scrolling with the other browsers with the old saved listings isn't so great - one of the reasons I don't like using them in Auctiva. I keep going back to the new owbers Alibaba. Maybe its because the last two years I worked in IT, the company I worked for was nought by an Australian outfit. They really didn't want the workers (probably all told they got rid of 90% of them over 5 years) only to have a presence here in the US. They had an operating system for their computers that was and is awful. The way they went about testing was in a production environment. They pretty much had an attitudw with their clients (except for the big ones) of if you don't like it leave. The level of service they provided was nothing like the client was used to, and many did leave. Others just griped and went along with the new owner. Easier than picking up and moving. I sense the same sort of attitude here. Auctiva always had problems, but now the attitude has changed. You no longer get the impression that they give a hoot. I don't know how many use Auctiva now as compared to 2 years ago. It's got to be less. The whole thing (no matter what anyone is saying) is the ecommerce stuff that Alibaba is into. Thats why they bought Auctiva - to give them greater exposure in the US market and a way to get their products into ebay. I remember looking at them years ago when I was considering drop shipping and what not. I realized what they were selling was the same things that dozens of others were selling on ebay. Why ad my same items to the others that are out there? Auctiva itself is probably a write off. All they wanted was more customers, which I'm sure they have gotten.
Hi Community,

I understand that some of you have receiving error messages containing error codes such as "17abd7ef-5f69-4e6d-a4bb-b6686fce6cc0" recently, but we are not aware of any specific technical problems that are causing those errors on a widespread basis so each report of that nature will need to be evaluated on a case by case basis.

If anyone continues to receive errors of that nature, please file a support request from the "Help" tab within your account which contains the full error message and a description of what you were doing when the error was generated and we will see what we can do to help.

-Mike
