auctiva site unaccessible

hi i have been having the same problem since yesterday afternoon. it has been driving me crazy.Also all my previous templates have dissapeared from ebay.my listings look terrible which must have an impact on sales.Any help gratefully received.

Sadly it seems that Sellathon as well as Auctiva have disappeared from the face of the earth as well as from the web.
Yes the listings look terrible - yes the showcases have disappeared - Yes potential customers cannot see the other items NO NO NO contact is possible with any Auctiva or Sellathon links. It would certainly be advisable for both to have a secondary server to at least let people know what's happening and just how long the system is likely to be down. I CANNOT believe that they lack both the ability and the finance to move things along faster than they have - not a good advert for either service!

Have you guys tried to file a support request?

Errrr - it's a bit difficult filing a support request when you're unable to log onto any of the sites to file a support request to ask why I cannot access the site to file a support request OR log onto the site to file a support request.
Having said that - maybe it's just the UK users who can't access Auctiva or Sellathon?

Well..if you can log in HERE, can you access the help button at the top of the page? If you can, scroll down a bit and on the right there's a link for support. Good luck.

You are managing to post HERE. There is a help button at the top of your page. Are you saying IE cannot find server when you click on the help button? If that's the case, what about FF?

That's exactly what I'm saying - Iget exactly the same when I try ANY Auctiva or Sellathon link.
This is one of my daughters items which should have links to Sellathon and an Auctiva scrolling showcase - as you can see - ZILCH!

Not sure but probably is UK specific problem? No problem accessing the site here either?
Could you post a link to your auction so we that are stateside can check it and see if the Auctiva info is there? As member-8880 suggested have to tried connecting with Firefox? Sometimes a different browser will work.

Hi, folks hate to say this but apart from the Friday morning maintenance (UK) time UK access was fine for me from a PC with both IE6 and Firefox.

Hi the auction loads fine for me and the scrolling gallery is visible and working also.. I see Choo has checked and says he is able to access. Possibly try another computer if you have ready access and see if you can get in.

Your link works for me, listing, scrolling gallery and viewing your Auctiva store front all appear fine from London

OK - here's what I did.
Went to a friend who uses a different ISP.
Went to ebay and did an item search which brought up daughters item - no scrolling gallery or storefront and no link to Sellathon.
Googled Auctiva and clicked the first Auctiva link which was

BTW on the listings in the description section there is a large space where the scrolling gallery would normally appear and there is a boxed red cross where the Sellathon logo would normally be

I am in UK and I am getting the same error message.
I am only able to access this forum through a link on google, but cannot get anywhere near the auctiva site no matter what Auctiva links I click, browsers I open or addresses I type.

I've read all your posts with interest and I know from a rival seller who also uses auctiva that round Northamptom the system is working fine since she has posted more listings today but I in the north west of the UK still cannot access auctiva in any way. And has already been stated there is NO WAY you can access the auctiva site for help either through the link here or via Google! What is going on??

OK i've read TazfromPA's suggestion perhaps a different browser will work? I've tried both Firefox on a Linux PC and on a Mac and safari on the Mac and none of them work can somebody from auctiva please provide help for this problem as the service to this part of the UK has now been offline for over 24 hours?

I have just checked again and ok from London, UK.

I would suggest the problem is that a major server/router on the internet is down just like part of a motorway network and is causing traffic jams and timeouts, as it is not Auctiva, affects various ISP's here and USA and depends at times whether you go via another server such as Google.

Therefore an e-mail to your ISP's regarding service disruptions between your ISP's and Auctiva should be enquired about.

I have experienced this sort of thing a year ago and was able to confirm a problem elsewhere.

What about other websites in similar locations ?

Everything else is absolutely fine - only Auctiva and Sellathon are dead for me

As regards other sites, I've noticed I cannot access bt.com or Apple sites as well just a random selection. I've Emailed my ISP about this and am waiting for a reply.

Nope link still down in the north west. I've emailed my ISP too with no reply as yet.

HELP - I've just taken 20 plus photos for my daughter to do her listings (It keeps her out of mischief and saves me giving pocket money ) but Auctiva and Sellathon are STILL inaccessible and no ISP response - PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can someone from either give us some clues as to how to resolve other than "contact your ISP". Someone somewhere must have a solution or at least be in a position of know how to highlight the problem to the appropriate person/organisation/authority.

I agree I think Auctiva help and assistance is usually very good and prompt but once you cannot access their site you've had it! Someone from Auctiva should be monitoring this forum to give help and we sorely need it. I rely on Auctiva for my living!

hi i am still having the same problem.My son contacted auctiva on my behalf and the responce was to clear cookies and temporary files which i did but this didn't help.This is the link address http://support.auctiva.com if they realise that there are quite a few of us with this problem they might do something

There is nothing to do, contact your ISP. Our site is up, it's an internet problem. We can't fix internet problems, just things we have control over like our own servers.

I've checked our traffic logs and they are normal. So whatever problem there is is not affecting many people. I checked they yesterday too and usually these things work themselves out faster.

You can always do a trace route to our www.auctiva.com to get an idea where the problem is. Google tracert or traceroute on google and get some instructions on how to do it on your computer.

I am using orange broadband - is this the only ISP affected? If it is then it should be easier to pinpoint the problem. If there are other ISP's involved then the problem may need to be addressed elsewhere. I guess you're assuming it's not affecting many people because not many people have posted here. Not all Auctiva users will be members here and those that are not will presumably have had the same difficulty in that they CANNOT report a problem if they cannot access the Auctiva site. Chicken egg

HOORAY - just run a trace using WinTraceRoute on 30 day free trial and showed temprarily unavailable then BEHOLD - it's all working now - amazing

Yes and no, as I recall from the news last autumn regarding a foiled terror plot the UK's connection to the rest of the world on the internet is via a single 'portal' (not sure of the proper technical name) which was in London.

So if a server or major item fails between you and London then yes the north will suffer as there are more technical gadgets between you and Auctiva then say me in London itself.

I hope this helps, that is why I suggested contacting your ISP's as they would (should) be aware of technical difficulties between them and the rest of the world.

This occasionally works but I usually find it is usually something else then I have to go back and restore settings on some sites again to put back the useful cookies.

Unfortunately this is dished out as the universal panacea by all and sundry, some help desks won't even help you further unless you say you have done it

Why was the name of such a delicious morsel degraded to being such a machine bloating parasitic monstrosity which makes your PC act like you would if you had gorged a truckfull of the edible cookies.
