Hi Community,

We have received several reports from customers over the last few days indicating that our automatic feedback service has not been working reliably or at all and, upon looking into this, we have found that eBay is rejecting many of the API calls we are making to them in effort to leave feedback on behalf of our customers.

We have tried making a couple different adjustments to resolve the problem so far and, while we have seen some improvement, it is apparent that this service is still not working reliably. Our engineering team is continuing to work on a complete solution for this problem but we're not quite sure when it will be resolved at this point.

I will post further updates on this issue to this thread as additional information becomes available though. We apologize for any inconveniences this issue is causing.

Hi Community,

Update - We have increased the interval with which we process automatic feedback and it appears that the feedback service has had a much smaller failure rate since them. As a result, the automatic feedback service should be working much more reliably now, but may be slower than you are accustomed to.

We are also in the process of redesigning the automatic feedback service in such a manner that the delays between when positive feedback messages are received and when our service leaves return feedback will be much smaller.

We expect to have the new version of the automatic feedback service released later this week or early next week and I will update this thread again to let you all know when it is ready.

Hi Community,

Update - I just spoke to our engineering team again regarding this issue and, while it currently looks like the new version of the automatic feedback service will not be ready quite as soon as we had hoped for last week, it should be ready to be released with our next site update which is tentatively scheduled to take place next week.

While the automatic feedback service should be working more reliably than it was when this issue first popped up due to the adjustments we have made so far, we are aware that the service is still failing to leave quite a few feedback messages that is would normally be able to leave.

In the interim, if you have noticed that your automatic feedback is not being left, please feel free to let our customer support team know because there is a command we can run from our end that is designed to go back and retry previously failed attempts to leave feedback. It is possible that this command may fail for the same reason as the initial attempts in some cases, but it may be helpful.

I will continue posting further updates on this issue to this thread as additional information becomes available.

Hi Community,

Update - We were just able to get the work on the new automatic feedback service completed and have placed about half of our users on the new version of the service already. If all goes well, we will be placing all of our remaining users on the new automatic feedback service by the end of the day.

The new automatic feedback service will not be able to go back and pick up transactions for which feedback was not left due to the recent problems with the old service so you may have to go back and leave feedback for those items manually, but the new service should work for transactions for which you receive positive feedback moving forward.

The new feedback service uses a different method of recognizing when positive feedback is received for items and, as a result, it should leave return feedback on your behalf shortly (often just minutes) after positive feedback is received instead of taking 12-24 hours like the old service.

If you continue to have problem with the automatic feedback service a couple days from now, please let us know by contacting our customer support team using the form on the following page of our site: http://www.auctiva.com/help/requesthelp.aspx#

Hi Community,

We have just placed the remainder of our accounts on the new automatic feedback service and it seems to be working well so far. If you continue to encounter problems with auto feedback with transactions for which you receive positive feedback moving forward, please let us know by contacting our customer support team using the form on the following page of our site: http://www.auctiva.com/help/requesthelp.aspx#
