Hi knotacellar,

Thanks for contributing to our forum. Although it is not clear to me where you are encountering this behavior, there are certain circumstances under which the “Edit and Relist” option available on the Closed Listings page will load the details from a different so I suspect you may be encountering this difficulty when using that feature.

If you click the “Edit and Relist” link next to an item on your Closed Listings page, the details on the relist editor will be pulled from the saved listing within your account from which that item was originally posted.

As a result, if you either modified that saved listing since posting the item OR revised the listing on eBay while it was active, the details that are loaded into the relist editor from the saved listing the item was posted from may not match the details in the closed listing.

Generally speaking, the best way to avoid this behavior is to keep the saved listings associated with the items you post through Auctiva in their original state by making an effort not to save over them when creating new listings from existing saved listings.

For example, if you are building a new listing from an existing saved listing, just click the “Save as New” button at the bottom of the lister page before posting or scheduling the new listing. Doing so will create a new saved listing that reflects the new listing details and keep the existing one intact.

Similarly, if you were to make a change to a listing through the eBay Revise your Item form while a listing is active, you would need to make that same change in the saved listing within your Auctiva account from which it was posted in order to ensure you would see that same change if you use the “Edit and Relist” option to relist the item after is closes.

I hope this helps. If the behavior you are seeing does not match what I have described, or you need any further assistance with your account, please feel free to contact our Customer Support team by mousing over the “Help” tab and selecting the “File Support Case” option.

The functioning of the Closed listing that has been described is not my experience with how the Closed Listing folder functions. I did a test and deleted the item "Green Blue Calcite with Fire and Pink Opal Sterling Silver Pendant Sajen 925" from my Saved Listings. I did a search to be sure it was gone. The pictures were also deleted as the Saved Listing prior to deletion showed no pictures. I next went to my Closed Listings and did the same Search for "sajen" and found my sold listing complete with pictures. I clicked Edit/ReList and all the information was there. This is something I have been trying to explain for 2 years or am I missing something again?

thanks
ed
No, Ed, You are not missing anything.
The closed listings do NOT pull from the saved listings. That is why if you revise an active listing and then it ends, you relist from the closed listings so that the revision that was made is still part of that listing.
It has nothing to do with the saved listings nor is it linked to the saved listing.
Revised active listings do not change saved listings either.
Hi Ed,

Thanks for commenting. The “Edit and Relist” tool should operate as I described in my previous post for the most part, but there are a few additional intricacies of the feature which I did not go over in that general description.

For example, if you delete a saved listing from your account from which one of your closed listings was originally posted, the “Edit and Relist” option for that closed listing will still be able to load the details from the saved listing it was posted from despite the fact that it was deleted.

The simplest way to see what I am referring to is to post an item through Auctiva and then make a change (such as modifying the title) to that saved listing after posting the item. If you click the “Edit and Relist” link next to the item on your Closed Listings page once it ends, you should see the modification you made to the saved listing on the relist editor.

I just attempted to reproduce the behavior you mentioned by clicking the “Edit and Relist” link next to the item called “Green Blue Calcite with Fire and Pink Opal Sterling Silver Pendant Sajen 925” on your Closed Listings page, but was unable to do so.

I did not see any images on the relist editor when I stepped through this process, which seems consistent with your observation that the saved listing from which you posted the item did not contain any images when you deleted it from your account.

Sorry but you are incorrect. Any revision made to an active listing is only saved in that active listing and when that listing closes and you relist that listing FROM THE CLOSED listings the revisions stay with that listing where they were saved.

Nothing happens to the original 'saved listings' unless the 'saved listing is manually changed too.

One has nothing to do with the other...never has.

But the biggest issue here is that the original post was NOT READ.....the original poster clearly stated a TOTALLY DIFFERENT ITEM is showing up...nothing was said about revising or anything else.

He clicks on a listing and is getting a different listing. In otherwords the listings are being scrambled/mixed up.

Hi trinkets,

I'm sorry about the apparent confusion surrounding this discussion, but I never intended to suggest that revisions made to eBay listings while they are active would be automatically applied to the saved listing from which the item was posted.

I was referring to the functionality of the “Edit and Relist” feature on the Closed Listings page. The main point I have emphasized during this conversation is that the relist editor which appears when the “Edit and Relist” link next to an item on the Closed Listings page is clicked will display information pulled from the saved listing from which that item was originally posted.

Therefore, if you were to post an item to eBay through Auctiva, then save over the saved listing from which you posted it with the details of another item, you would see the details of that other item when you click the “Edit and Relist” link next to the original listing once it closes.

On the other hand, if you use the “Bulk Relist” tool on the Closed Listings page to relist an item, any revisions you made to the listing through eBay while it was active should remain in place when the item is relisted. It sounds like you are most likely referring to the use of the “Bulk Relist” tool.

I hope this helps clear things up.

Nope, I am not confused nor was I referring to the bulk listing tool. If I were "I" would have said that is what I was referring to.

And still no one is reading/answering the original question.... which is about CLICKING on a listing and getting a TOTALLY DIFFERENT ITEM not about revising and getting a different item.
