I just noticed today that the pictures hosted by auctiva are not showing on my listing. I am not sure if this has been going on for more than a day.

I can read the description very well but the pictures are not there. Instead of thumbnails, I got a question mark in a box and the link to 'click to view supersized image' shows there but when you click on it, there is no pic.

I have another listing with the same issue but it shows 2 pictures out of 7.

Is there anything going on? Thanks!

Hi Folks,

From prior reports and those I've looked at, I'm observing the following:

1. The images are deleted, no longer hosted by Auctiva. They aren't in the deletion folder or that special image would substitute in place of the one in the folder.

2. The listings involved are (from reports and observation) auto-relist at eBay, i.e. it's a Store item et. al. that's run its listing period with images and relists via GTC at eBay (not using Auctiva's Relist feature).

3. The deletion occurs concurrent or subsequent to the time of the last relist start.

4. Use of the deletion Wizard has been denied (ruled out as cause) by some, i.e. the Wizard wouldn't know about eBay GTC relist and could be a possible cause (if used....but wasn't).

5. Since these are old images, use of the new upload feature to auto-delete shouldn't be a factor (however it's the first thing I'd check for any odd database defacto cause, as the timing certainly fits its intended use Confused).

6. THESE cases don't appear to be Amazon S3 or Internet outage situations....but it can't be ruled out for every case recently reported, e.g. I know for a fact the S3 service was having intermittent problems the weekend before last (slow or infrequently failing to load an image).

Have I missed anything?

Hi Community,

We had suspended our service that permanently deleted images that have been marked as deleted from the beginning of June up until about a week ago. Therefore, it is possible that images marked as deleted on the Manage Images page as early as the beginning of June would just be getting permanently deleted now.

Since we have started running this service again, images that are marked as deleted on the Manage Images page should be permanently deleted from our system 14 days after they are marked as deleted - unless they are manually permanently deleted or restored from the Deleted Images page.

If you have listings in which an icon stating "Image Not Available" is displayed in place of your images, it is an indication that those images were marked as deleted and are now in your Deleted Images folder and you should be able to restore them by using the "Restore" button in your Deleted Images folder.

On the other hand, if broken image links are showing up in place of your images in your listings, it is indicative that those images were marked as deleted some time in June or July and have since been permanently deleted from our systems. In that case, in order to restore the images in the listings, you would need to reupload them during the process of revising each via the following process:

1) Locate your listing in your Saved Listings folder, make any necessary changes (reupload images), and save.
2) Click the "<HTML> icon to the right of the item on your "Saved Listings" page
3) Select All and copy the html in the popup window.
4) Locate the item on eBay and click the "Revise Item" button.
5) Scroll down to the "Description" section and then click the "HTML" tab above the description editor.
6) Delete the existing description HTML, paste the copied HTML in its place, and save your changes.

Once you have done that, if you also need to restore the header/gallery images in the listings, you should then be able to do so by revising them via the following process:

1) Visit the item on eBay.
2) Right-click the image you’d like to make your new header/gallery image and click “Properties”
3) Copy the image URL, which begins with http://...
4) Click the “Revise your Item” link at the top of the auction page.
5) Click the “Add Pictures” button.
6) Delete the text(if any) in the “Enter URL…” field(if any) and replace it with the copied URL.
7) Click the “Insert Pictures” button and save your changes.

Revising your listings in this manner will cause the scrolling galleries to be removed from them, but there is a tool our support team can run that can add them back. If you would like me to add the scrolling galleries back to your listings after you make these revisions, please let our customer support team know and we will add them for you.

You can reach our customer support team at any time by completing the form on the following page of our site: http://www.auctiva.com/help/requesthelp.aspx

Hi to all & Mike.
I just realized I have 46 listings missing their photos. These are GTC & the photos were present at the time I listed. I had absolutely no reason to delete them. I would never have deleted any jewelry images, especially when they are running, yet many photos have been removed from their folders.
Now when I do remove photos, I am VERY CAREFUL NOT TO DELETE ANY I HAVE ON LISTINGS. So where are they going, what happened to them.
When there is a # by the photo, that means it is active. I do not touch these images. Feed Back would be appreciated Ready to pull my hair out!!!!!!
I was under the impression that these sorts of situations would be handled differently since I am now paying for this service.
I am not going to be satisfied with your scripted answer that "You deleted such & such image in such & such date". It appears that no matter how careful one is, Other non related photos are deleted also. Or when they stop & roll into another 30 day stint with GTC, Something is happening.
Has anyone else had this crazy making situation. And are you being gas lighted by the company.
Now under Active listings, there is an option to add photos to you listing. Why, may I ask is this offered if it does not work.
This has & will continue to cause me lost revenue. Not only all the times these listings have renewed, also all of the time is will take to get things back on track.
WHAT, MAY I ASK, AM I PAYING FOR
Hi Community,

There's not much more I can add about this situation that I did not already cover in my last reply to this thread, but I would like to clarify the reason why users may have noticed images disappear from their accounts at a time during which they have not deleted any images.

We normally permanently delete images from our system 14 days after they have been marked as deleted and sellers can restore them or delete them permanently manually from the Deleted Images page during that time. However, we had suspended our service that permanently deletes images that have been marked as deleted from the beginning of June until about a week ago to give users who were away when we announced that we were going to start charging some additional time to sign up and be able to recover their images.

Since we have recently started permanently deleted images that have been marked as deleted and are in the Deleted images folder, images that users have deleted as far back as the beginning of June are just now being permanently deleted. It will take a little while longer for us to get caught up, but we expect to be back to deleting images 14 days after they have been marked as deleted in the near future.

-Mike
