Hi, I am new and I have several issues to address.

1)I was able to import and use ads as profiles when I signed up, but apparently there is no feature to import additional ads I list with EBAY to the profiles.

2)No return policy setting? There should be one or did I miss this field on your lister? I revised my listing with EBay to set my return policy, for there is no way I'm going to leave such an important detail as unspecified(and "look for it" in the description). I don't want to keep revising my listings either. Except for the number of days to return and money back, I don't specify additional details since my actions will always be on a case by case basis.

3)Missing insurance option, "included in shipping and handling). This option is needed for inexpensive items that are not worth paying others to insure(shipping costs are bad enough), but I would refund anyway if damaged. I am sure that you want the money, :-) but it won't be forth coming. Not that I wouldn't pay for insuring my more valuable shipments... the bottom-line, I need these options.

Please address these issues, and improve my future with auctiva. Given its present success, perhaps EBAY will offer a buy out?

Also, I haven't decided who is the best insurer. For I am not sure who(the post office or your service?) is in the best position, such as package inspection and promptness, to settle claims. I have not yet seen a convincing sales pitch, thus I am only likely to buy your service for international orders.

One more note, please suggest to EBAY that it needs to stop the practice of emailing invoices, for the email system corruption is too rampant. My bidders are being spoofed by fake invoices. This is unacceptable and damaging caused by the present lax policy. The best policy would be for Ebay's invoices to only be distributed within the relative safety of EBAY's my messages system. Once this much stricter policy is in place, all listings should make the policy plain as day.

Eric.

Most sellers agree that the company we use to provide shipping insurance is better, easier to work with, and faster at handling claims. This makes your life easier and keeps your buyers happier in the event there is a problem or lost item in shipping.

Keep looking for that return policy setting, it's there somewhere I'm sure. I'm pretty sure that insurance option is as well.

To create a profile from a saved listings go to the listing tab, then to the "Saved Listings" link. Then check the box next to the listing you want to create a profile from and click the "Create Profiles" button.

With Auctiva you can completely customize your end of auction email to the winner. You can take that opportunity to include some info about you and your userid and shipping and payment info. All of that should make the buyer feel more at ease that it's not a spoof. Also all links go to eBay and tell them to go to eBay to pay. So they need not even use a link.
Jeff,
Thank you for your prompt reply. I will let you know if I can find the settings I mentioned.

I have been pretty upset because yesterday my only auction for an expensive item was not yet completed when I received a message from an ebay member saying I invoiced them twice when I had not! Its hard to gain trust after con artists email them first and show these potential buyers who-knows-what pretending to be me with bogus contact info. I am strongly considering not selling anymore.

Companies typically avoid emailing sensitive data and send only notices to go to a secure and trusted site to exchange that data. Likewise, this should be Ebay's policy across-the-board. Simple notices winners won and they should go to Ebay(or a trusted third party site) for contact information, and to discourage the emailing of sensitive data. Only a policy of this nature would make attempted spoofs futile.

I am still learning about Auctiva and I am pleased that I can bundle my auctions together. I just hope that my future auctions go more smoothly. I will take a closer look at the insurance claim services and recommendations(I have not yet had any shipment damages or losses to deal with). Thanks again for your reply today.

Thats sweet. :-)

I'm mulling over my situation too. Its still upsetting me that my auction was disrupted.

I am going to insert into my auctions a statement something like...

If you are the winning bidder, login to Ebay for your invoice and payment instructions. Thank you.

I would also add, "newbie buyers beware, your going to be spoofed too", but then I would scare the poor souls. As things are, we have a systematic problem and my personal instruction, alone, won't do much to stop spoofs from interfering with my sales or anybody else's.

Thats why I am motivated to discourage the practice of emailing sensitive information. Its both unnecessary and counterproductive. If buyers expect such information to be sent via email, they are more likely to fall victim, if they expect not to receive such information via emails then they will be far less likely to get taken in when they receive emailed "information" about the items purchased. Furthermore, their expectations are governed by Ebay policies, thus to severely curb further interference with our important sales, the sale notification system should be revamped. For instance, GEIGO notifies me when I have a bill due, it does not tell me that its x amount and they are wonderful and to call such and such. They simply notify, and thats it. Our sales pitches "trust me" belong in messages from secured sites, not within unsecured emails. But, its going to prodding, backbone and business sense to persuade Ebay to invoke adequate policy change(s) on this matter.

Keeper, alias Eric, alias Keeper, alias Eric.. :-)
