As many of you have read, I usually advise using Mozilla Firefox with Auctiva.

I've found that using another browser which is Mozilla based works real well also.

It's called Flock Flock.

Try it, you might like it.

It's a browser that has tweaks for images.

Good Luck,
Donna

Hey Betty,

Hope all finds you well and life is treating you good.

I still love Firefox. And I use it with the IE installation. I now have MSIE 7.00 and really like that also. I have Opera but don't use it much. Not because I don't like it..I just don't like it enough.

Firefox just added a View in Opera also. But I haven't downloaded that installation...yet.

Flock is being called the social browser for many reasons. It integrates picture/text/image/whatever sharing very easy as it incorporates FLICKR

Flock comes with alot of the installations already built in, so I don't have to looking for downloads.

I was just giving members another choice if they were having problems.

Thanks for asking bout what cloud I live on Cabbage Rose. I'm in Auctiva now, (even though all of my auctions are scheduled) I'm in listings and clicking revise and everything works fine for me. My pics are up on eBay, too.

So evidently the cloud I live on is the right one.

My Best Betty! Take care,
Donna
How can it be that when everyone else is having problems with Auctiva I've NEVER read that you experience them? You seem to lead some happy, charmed life where sugar falls from the sky and daisies are the carpet under your feet. No matter how slow, or nonfunctional, or unresponsive Auctiva may be at any given time of any given day, YOU NEVER HAVE A PROBLEM and just bubble over with happiness and delight. I want to share that cloud with you because I need to have Auctiva work for me as it does for you. And...whatever you take for happiness, please give all of us the recipe. I'd love to be thrilled at each and every moment I am awake whether or not the sky is gray or the earth is rumbling.

Your boundless, cheery postings are a delight to read and somewhat puzzling, too. Especially when each and every other person using this program is having a problem and you are just zooming from page to page and window to window. Please share the secret of Auctiva, problem-free navigation. You seem to have it and inquiring minds would like to know. Eek

I use IE, Netscape and FireFox. My computer memory is HUGE. My unused disk space is HUGE. My internet is top of the line. I have spyware, virus protection, System Mechanic. I compress my drives. I defrag like religion. I don't restrict pop-ups on Auctiva and always empty my cache when I want to use this site. I do all of the right things. My son owns a computer store and I have more than enough of whatever is required to make my machine literally sing a song. So why is it so easy for you to zoom around Auctiva and so difficult for the rest of us. Why are you blessed? What have the rest of us done wrong? Roll Eyes
Just lucky I guess.

I'm not the only one..there are many others. We've even talked about it outside these boards.

Take the problem to Auctiva and not the bearer of another browser. Geesh. <shrug>

My computer is top notch, the memory is huge, my unusued disk usage is huge, my internet is cable modem and ripping fast, I use Sygate firewall, I use AVG virus. I use Spyware Blaster and Lavasoft Ad Aware. I use Spybot Search and Destroy. All independent programs that work well.

I dont' defrag religiously..perhaps once a month if that much.

I wouldn't use System Mechanic, Norton, McAfee or any other such packaged group. I'd rather use the ones I use. Each to their own if it works for them.

Also I might be on an older server as I've been here since spring of 2005. This has been discussed by many of us (outside these boards)along with the non-usage of a pre-packaged virus, firewall etc software and the fact that we have been here long enough that as Auctiva implements upgrades we learned to tweak as the system was tweaked.

Also, I schedule ahead of time, I never try to use the service during busier hours or days that are traditionally busy.

Take it up with Auctiva or walk. If I was with a service that didn't work...I wouldn't be on the listing parties boards, I'd be signing up for a new third party listing service.

But that's just me.

Off to my cloud and life as I'm done with this conversation.
Totally awesome speech! As I TOTALLY agree..I love the way you worded the whole paragraph, as I chuckled, however; am in total agreement. I have problems every single day. Was told it would be an hour, then 3 hours, etc..It has been almost 5 days now, and my windows don't load in my auctions, I have doubles, some show auctions that ended last week, and more..Getting tired of sending in trouble tickets that says we are working on it or it has been escalated to their senior advisors. Just fix it
Cabbage Rose you have the same questions that a few others here have also discussed. It seems a very few have a direct line to Auctiva or they are just sprinkling water on the fire that breaksd out on the boards every week. Personaly I take what they say with a grain of salt. If 100's are having issues all over the nation, THEY are to.

Linda, tell us about the older servers. Tell us about the browser you use for Auctiva. I also have Spybot, AVG, etc. Tell us how to TWEAK the system. Please, PLEASE, please SHARE. Those of you who are talking off the boards about how you've gotten around all of the Auctiva troubles...SHARE! Linda, your post almost makes me feel as though you and the others who talk privately about all of your little "tweaks" are just laughing at those of us who have the problems. Roll Eyes It would be a very kind thing for you to share your INSIDER KNOWLEDGE. Wink
You know, this isn't anything new here. I've had words here with the CEO of Auctiva (at one point pretty heated) and still we have the same issues.

There is one simple fact that holds true here. Auctiva is FREE. Their other services, such as eBud and Auctiva Poster are not. So where do you think the efforts go to make sure a system stays up and running? Yup, they go where the money is.

I too have the same problems everyone has. And if Suthrnjewl never has the problems then I would only speculate that she is either entering her listings from Auctiva headquarters or has some special connection with the support group that gets her preferential service. I don't mean to sound crass but I agree with a previous poster on how everything is good and right in her world.

I've looked into pay services. I've used a few and I will probably go back soon. Just like everyone else, the service outages cost all of us money. Money that we cannot afford to lose over bad service.

Will the problems go away? Probably not until the Auctiva web based service starts charging a fee. Then, maybe, we will be able to rely on the service.
I've looked at the boards and history for the paid Auctiva listing tools. They have the very same issues as those of us who don't put out a penny. So, I don't think that money is the key issue but I don't have a clue what is...sigh. Roll Eyes

However, what irritates me the most is that Suthrnjewl indicates that she and others "talk" privately about the fact that they DON'T have any listing issues or problems. Gee, isn't that nice. They have an inside track on how to make this site work well and they don't share. But what they do frequently is happily tell all of us how well Auctiva works for them.

Yes, we could all boogie to another site but if we do...an no one stays...then Auctiva and Suthrnjewl and her buddies all win. In times like these when money is so, so precious to all of us we do need to stay. We need to keep asking for changes. We need to READ what is posted and remember what we've read. We need to ASK QUESTIONS. That is the only way we will win this little battle for a site that is top notch (as they advertise).
Well, I've been here over a year and while some features are better, the overall service has not improved much at all.

I said this to the CEO before and I'll say it again, the bad service makes not only makes their service look bad, it reflects on eBay as well. It's a shame that eBay doesn't come down on Auctiva for it's service problems. Unhappy sellers have options other than eBay. Many have left and bad service from an eBay authorized provider is sure to cause others to think twice about the whole eBay system.

As for me, I love eBay. But their options for posting, for lack of a better word, suck. Not to mention the nickle and dime shakedown we get if we use them to list our stuff for their benefit. Obviously free doesn't work. So what are the best, affordable, alternatives? I guess it's time to investigate.
Why does a thread that's not about Auctiva's performance have to turn into one? No wonder I rarely post here anymore.

And as for users who don't really have problems, count me in as well.

But just think about it for a second: Users in general -- and this goes for most any online support forums -- who aren't having problems aren't going to spend a lot of time posting to let everyone know they aren't having problems.

These are support forums. People come here with problems and it can be a hostile environment for those who don't have them.
I used to have 600+ listings at any given time on this one ID alone until they upped the ante on the store costs.

I have four eBay IDs and closed one of those last February.

I list daily, minimum 10 auctions mostly about 20.

I do know listing.

Yesterday afternoon...I did a search on eBay for Auctiva auctions and over 25,000+ auctions came up.

25,000+ auctions were put up by members that were successfully using the site over the last month, weeks, days and hours.

That in and of itself says alot.

As Rick stated, this is a support forum and folks come here with problems. That's what it's here for. I have received emails from members that state that they love the find feature on the forums and use it often to find answers to every day questions about Auctiva.

Many of we members who used to help...backed off about a month ago for a myriad of reasons.

I mostly post now to eBay Talk, Lounge or as noted by the way this thread went made the faux paus of suggesting that another browser might help members.

Knicks Game? Hockey is brutal and love going to the games. <smile>
Given your product it should be relatively easy to list 20 items a day. I have three ID's, but all of my items are unique. No feasable way to replicate the stuff I hawk. And I beg to diffr on your accounting, Suthern. 25,000 active auctions does not mean all were happy, succesful users. The Knicks were just used as a comparison to intimidation of these boards. If what's being posted on these boards turn some users away, then they have a sad awakening when they deal with the e-public in business. Do you really think posting repeatedly during a system wide snafus, "I'm having no issues at all" is helping? That's akin to singing "I Feel Pretty" while everybody else deals with menstrual cramps.
Did you note that I have real tangible items listed?

Those are unique and designed while I'm online with Auctiva.

Evidently you didn't take the time to note the unique items that I have up for auction or else you wouldn't have stated it's the same product over and over.

My recipes & remedies Auctions? Those are scheduled and ready to go. And do go up.

If you note the original post...I came online to just post a browser. I didn't post I wasn't having problems until much later.

Thus you're comeback just made a fine example of the reason why so many of we who used to be helpful on this board no longer visit it to help other members.

There are many, MANY of us as noted by the 25,000+ auctions that are running smooth that have very few issues if any at all.

I have grabbed the html from many of my Auctiva listings and have them at other sites, too. Works for me and evidently for 25,000+ other members.

It just doesn't help, no matter what any of we other members type or try to explain..it makes no difference whatsoever.

The fact that 25,00+ Auctiva third party auctions go up successfully makes no difference in your view whatsoever.

If I have problems with a service, I will note if others aren't having problems. If they aren't then I know it's on my side of the issue. There must be something I need to tweak, or change in preferences or something that will get issue taken care of as versus theirs which isn't having a problem.

Done.
