Re: Trouble loading Ebay

jeffs ·
Maybe related, maybe not. I was having internet related problems with my mail hosting company this morning. Their entry vanished from DNS records, so they appeared to be non-existant. There have also been some attacks against DNS servers this week. Perhaps this is what you are seeing. My problems with my mail host are gone now, but their customer support line did verify that they were getting a high level of calls similar to my complaint. My connections to eBay have been working fine today.

Snap, same problem here. I receive a log-in prompt each time I try to open an Ebay (or Auctivia) page containing ANY of my image that Auctivia host for me. Even tried filling in the prompt with my user name and password but it will not accept either. The problem occurs in both Internet Explorer and Firefox, so no help there!! I've just checked item 150082357143 for the OP and I can see it and my Hubby has logged on to his computer and can see all my images too, so it appears that each...

Your account doesn't have any profiles or a master profile. You should create those first. Once you've done that it will save you from entering repetitive info over and over. You should upload all your images for the listings you're creating that day in advance. That should save some time as well so that you'll only need to select them once you are creating your items description. Here are some tutorials and taped classes that should help: http://www.auctiva.com/help/tutorials.aspx You...

To add to my post, I talked to godaddy and they are wondering why did I remove (delete) the A HOST entry. According to Auctiva instruction: So they think the A HOST should be placed back and should use Name Server instead of CNAME and asked me to contact Auciva for their help.

Hi nadiastore, To redirect your domain to your Auctiva store, you must point your domain to "storefilter.auctiva.com" using a CNAME. If you are unable to complete this task using the instructions on our domain set-up wizard, please contact GoDaddy's customer support department and tell them: "I would like the host records for www.yourdomaingoeshere.com to point to storefilter.auctiva.com using a CNAME." Re: Image hosting / template hosting

auctivamiked ·
Hi mensattire, 1) The custom domain you have purchased through Auctiva is managed by Auctiva and points to your Auctiva store, which displays all of your active eBay listings at any given time. The only way you can customize your Auctiva store are by using the customization options listed under the "Store" tab within your Auctiva account so, unfortunately, it is not possible to edit your store using HTML. 2) If you would like to use the Auctiva store domain you purchased to host your...

AS ALWAYS ONCE AGAIN AUCTIVA'S LAME SERVICE IS HAVING A MAJOR HICCUP. NO IMAGES MEANS LOSS OF INCOME. THATS WHY I NO LONGER USE AUCTIVA AS MY IMAGE HOST PROVIDER AND JUST PAY THE EBAY IMAGE FEES NOW FOR DEPENDABILITY. THIS WAY I STILL USE THE STORE WINDOW AND IF IT DOES NOT WORK WELL NO SKIN OFF MY KNUCKLES.

Re: Clipart in descriptions

You will have to host them here on Auctiva or another photo host and then insert them using the HTML code for the image. For example - I use photobucket for my hosting - so the code that I would use would be... (img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v51.angelsblue/imagename.jpg) You would have to replace the () with <>. After the img src= you would add in the image URL for your photo where ever it is hosted.

Re: What benefit is the Auctiva Store?

everythingelse ·
I'll add my two cents - I'm also a newbie to Auctiva and was confused about whether one had to have an eBay store in order to use an Auctiva store. The answer I received from Auctiva's customer service was no - you need to use eBay to list your auctions but you do not need to have an official eBay store. So it's true that Auctiva is not a stand alone storefront because it needs to interact with your eBay account and listings but you don't have to pay for an eBay store. Visitors thru eBay...

Re: 400X300 How to avoid distortion

Hi thanks so much for your time. My camera automatically saves my images in jpg format so at least that shouldn't be an issue. Most of my photos have been fine with the compression but I have a handful of items where it has been really frustrating to try and get a decent image to show on the listing. Guess it sounds like I'll just have to live with it though, or perhaps use a different image host for those specific items? Thanks again for your time and for trying to help me out

Re: 400X300 How to avoid distortion

choochooguy ·
Hi, some items can be difficult regardless of the host, fringing effects when taking pictures of stripey garments, certain colours, I always found bright red to be worst. Just always upload at the maximum resolution you want the item to be seen at, no larger, wastes time and means that your jpg images are processed twice which certainly increases the likelyhood of colour distortion. Consider that eBay will squeeze the image down to 400x300 for the standard listing picture and more so for the...

Hi, some guidelines for you. An image in your listing will only get larger if you have uploaded it at a size greater than 400x300 pixels. (The standard eBay size). Try loading them at twice the default size and you should see the difference clearly. When your listing is posted via Auctiva with supersize option selected it wil have text under it referring to supersize. The 'save/download' window you saw is a Microsoft Windows menu not an Auctiva 'Window'. You do not need to know about HTML...

Hi fabulous - You are correct, if you want to externally host your image, that is definitely the way to do it. However, since Kittieciao does not wish to host from PhotoBucket, I'm afraid she is going to have to copy the image(s) to her PC first, then upload to Auctiva as Suthrnjewl suggests. Unfortunately, this is the only way to get the pics stored on Auctiva's server and hosted by Auctiva.

WELCOME to Auctiva By the time you read this They have probably shown up. But for future reference as told to me and from what you can read on the community forum pages. Auctiva is a third party host to E-bay which means anything coming in from a place other than Ebay's own listings, has to be run thru a Fraud Protection Sweep. This feature although is to protect accounts from being entered by fraudulent scammers, makes our uploading of the listings slower. If I relist thru E-bay it will...

Hi. I checked all your listings and they look fine. The current one is using eBay to host your pics, which I don't understand why. Your completed auctions all look great. I'd suggest putting the scrolling gallery at the bottom, but that's just my opinion and preference. I also would recommend not ending your listings early except for extenuating circumstances. This can give you a bad reputation as a seller with too many. Again, JMHO. Anyway, they look just fine from here. Maybe I'm not...

Even though the auto-start audio has been working well for me, I'm going to be reverting to click-to-play recordings (because that is what I would prefer) on all of my auctions. I don't like the animated characters either... pretty spooky. The main reason that I don't just record my voice and use HTML is because it slows loading time quite a bit (especially for dial-up connections). Then when you're ready to create a new auction just load your ACT and edit the end of the URL (the actual image name). Thanks for your help, David. It's much appreciated! I'm not sure about using templated downloaded from the net, I have never done that but I would think it would be like any other template you use. It is not necessary to pay eBay to host additional pictures for you if you need more than 16 of them in your listing. If you want to go beyond 16 pictures, you can do so by adding them into the description area of your listing. There is an icon in the Description Editor that has a Mountain and Sun picture on it. You can use that one to add in as many pictures as you like. Mike
