Okay...this is really wierd. There is no place in my profiles to add the return shipping policy. I went to every profile I made (about 10-12 of them, and there is no option for that. I've tried to find a place to change it in my Master Profiles too.... Very strange....

For example, one of my Item Details profile is "Pant Suits". There is no choice anywhere in there to add shipping return policy. So I figure, well, I guess I need to change it under my Shipping Profile details. Well, LOL, there's nothing there except my html that I pasted in and no choices for a shipping return policy.

The only way I can see to add a return policy to a listing is to do in on each and every individual one. I can't seem to figure out what I'm missing. It should be simple (as I've already said before - <grin>Wink, but I must be missing it.

Another problem is... I notice that on all of my profiles (for different types of clothing) that every time I save my Shipping Profile details (from the drop down menu of choices of profiles I made) to my an Item Details profile it doesn't save the Shipping Profile I chose.

Hi Marcia,

To enter your return policy, click "Maximize" next to the Checkout Options section of the lister page. Then, click the "Choose/Modify Return Policy" link.

If you have created a profile containing your return policy, you can edit it in your profile by going to Auctiva -> Profiles(tab) -> Manage Profiles, and selecting "Edit" from the pull down menu to the right of the appropriate profile.

there's a couple of different places you can put return policy info.

One is in the place in post you quoted. go to
Checkout Profile http://www.auctiva.com/profiles/intl_checkout.aspx then select "Choose/Modify Return Policy" link (right above the box for Payment Instructions)

The other place is if using templates that has a TOS section. Can put return policy in there as well. (this second place only shows up in templates that make use of the TOS tag and will not upt the return info in ebay's return info section)

To get to TOS section, go to Manage Profiles http://www.auctiva.com/profiles/landing.aspx and then choose "Seller Details". http://www.auctiva.com/profiles/sellerdetails_wizard.aspx It will walk you through inputting info for the new sections in templates.
Thanks so much WOW. I totally missed that part....

Just for clarification, I'm not Marcia. Razz But I figured I'd paste that post in here to help clarify what the heck I was trying to get at. Big Grin

When I do a preview of my ad, it does not show the Return Policy in the preview. Is that normal? And will it show in my launched ads when they hit eBay?

Another problem is... I notice that on all of my profiles (for different types of clothing) that every time I save my Shipping Profile details (from the drop down menu of choices of profiles I made) to my an Item Details profile it doesn't save the Shipping Profile I chose....so I have to add it individually to each ad I create. Have a cure for that? Confused

TIA!
Thank you wahm for clarifying that for me. Razz

I don't know if this below problem makes sense...but I still haven't figure it out.
I tried to explain it as best I could...

Okay here's what the problem is:

To use a Seller Details profile in a listing:

You must first choose a template to use before a Seller Details profile can be inserted into a listing

Once a template has been selected, your Seller Details profiles become available to be chosen from the drop-down menu on the right

Choose the desired Seller Details profiles from the drop-down menu

Enter a Template Title in the box provided; this title will appear as part of the template, and may be different from the title which appears on the actual eBay page

The problem is that when I choose my Seller Details profile from that drop-down menu and click save it doesn't save it to the profile. I've tried it on 12 different profiles and no go....help?

I have cleared my cache, rebooted my computer...and I did make sure to choose a template first of course.
Razz
not exactly sure of the problem youre having, but basically you create the sub profiles (shipping, seller details, marketing, & checkout) and then create a master profile and for the master profile you set which of the sub-profiles (shipping profile, seller details profile, marketing profile, and checkout profile) to use.

Then when creating the listing, select the master profile and it will fill in all the sub-profile stuff for ya.

dunno if that helps or not
Thanks again for your reply WOW. Smile

I think this will make more sense (I hope!)

Okay, under my Seller Details Profiles (e.g. slacks/pants), there is a drop down box, directly to the right of the "Choose a Template" , that states "-- Select Seller Details --". I've already chosen the template (since you have to do that first), and then I go to the right drop-down box (-- Select Seller Details --) and select from the drop-down box my saved "Fairy Pay/Ship" then click save to that profile.

But....it's not saving it. When I go to make a new listing, that box apparently reverts back to "--Select Seller Details --". So each time I make a new listing, I have to go through and re-select it each time. Might this be a glitch? If I need to send in a support/help ticket, where do I do that?

Edit: BTW, I'm loving Auctiva - It is streamlined, easy to use, and I love that I can flip back and forth between text/design mode in the description. Now, I can enter my item deails in my little boxes instead of in between the html code! Smile Love it!
Another great thing is that I checked today and all of my active and ended auctions have imported from eBay smoothly and seamlessly! What a great suprise!!

Happy Independence Day!

'k i think i'm following you now Smile

You created your Seller Details profile

Then created/edited an Item Details profile and selected a template to use and selected Seller Details profile to use.

Then created a Master Profile using this Item Details profile.

Then when you create a listing using this Master Profile, it doesnt show the template and Seller Details profile you selected?

Assuming you did all those steps (and saved where appropriate), it should do it (and just worked for me).

If for some reason doing all those steps didnt work, then something is definately wrong and a support ticket would be in order.

---------------------------

To file a support ticket:

first, if you have an ISP that does spam filtering (such as aol) or if you have your own spam filter, make sure you will get emails from auctiva (by putting them in addressbook, adding to safe list on spam filter, etc.)

login to auctiva.

on each page in auctiva, at the very top right, there is a thin green bar that says "Help | Community | Refer a Friend | Add a Link | Sign Out" Click where it says "Help"

scroll all the way down to bottom of page, you'll see a section titled "File a Support Request" with two links in it. One for filing, one for coming back later and checking status.
Wayoutwest, I need your help...Im only putting this here because I dont want to post over the Prayers Post in the lounge and I know you will be watching this post..lol. If you go to my new site, http://www.westcollectibles.com
you will see at the bottom a gif that says remember to bookmark this page...I know this is stupid question but I dont know how to link it so that when someone clicks on it..their add to favorites box pops up. I figured you might know how thats done...I would appreciate your help if you have time...thanks West
Hey...someone hijacked my thread!! Big Grin <grin west>

WOW...thanks again for your assistance.

I did exactly as you explained and it does not work. So...guess I send in a support ticket. How's customer service over here in Auctiva land? Wink

Have another question for ya too, wow...I did a search through the forums and according to what I read on listings/photos being automatically imported from eBay, it should all be done within 12 hours.

I originally thought they all came through, but oops I was wrong. Razz Only 1 of my items from June came through. All the rest are back from the beginning of the year.

Should I send in a support ticket on that too, ya think?

Edit: Sent in a support ticket for both problems. You're the best WOW! You're very good at assisting others...you're so precise! Must be from a lot of experience helping. Wink

WestVa - here ya go

<a href="javascript:window.external.AddFavorite('http://westcollectibles.com/default.aspx',
'WestCollectibles.com')" style="font-size:12px;color:#ffffff;font-family:verdana;">
<img src="http://westcollectibles.com/images/bookmark.gif" border="0" width="174" height="48"></a>

where it says "WestCollectibles.com" inside the parentheses, right after AddFavorite, that's the text that shows up in their favorites list. can change it to whatever you want.

and I dont know if you can do it with the OfficeLive pages or not, but you can create a custom icon for the user to end up with in their favorites. Simply save a graphic in ico format, name it favicon.ico and put it in your root folder on the site. must be 16x16 or 32x32 and color depth of 16, 256, or 16 million colors.

some browsers (but not IE from my understanding, but havent tested it) will allow you to do gif images or png images.

and you can have the .ico file somewhere else besides root folder of site if you put the following two lines in head area of html page (with urls pointing to file location on web)

<link rel="icon" href="http://example.com/favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" />
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="http://example.com/favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" />

if using .gif image, the type= would be image/gif instead.

and here's a site that will convert image to .ico format for you http://www.graphicsguru.com/favicon.php

Sorry to hear that still not working Frown On the bright side, CS here is tops! Smile Smile Very professional, helpful, and best CS i've come across in a very long time. (it's CS like theirs is why i stayed with local ISP for a very long time (7 years), even though a few others were cheaper. and at one point even had two accounts with them. local ISP was $14.95, which was cheap enough, but there are cheaper ones out there)

support ticket on import was right thing to do. as for compliments - youre too kind *blush* my help methods comes from knowing that while some people may understand more general stuff, some dont and it's just easier if you get basic with it. That way you know everyone's on same page and results in easy to follow instructions for others that come along and read later on. Plus, there's been many times I've wanted to do stuff, read and read on net, and still didnt 'get it' until i found a step x step page. So comes from frustration and experience both as person needing help and in helping folks.

Glad you find my method of explaining helpful, rather than feeling that i'm thinking person is stupid and needs hand-holding (so to speak). I often worry that the person will be offended because I cover stuff they most likely know and over-simplify the stuff. But figure that's better than person not following and other people that need help not being able to follow. Just sorry it took so long to pinpoint problem and for us both to be on same page. Frown

Have a great day, hope the tech guys get it resolved for ya pretty quickly.

Wayoutwest, Thanks for the help...I didnt realize that I could not use HTML on the Microsoft site...whats that all about. It does not have an html editor option anywhere I could find...thats nuts.

Anyway, new question. Is there a way I can encode that bookmark image with the html you gave me and then save it as an image to upload to the editor? See what Im saying?..lol...I guess it would help if "I" knew what I was saying...lmao.

By the way I tried to convert the html code you gave me to use on my vstore..but it did not work...all I did was change the address's and the aspx to php...because my vstore server uses php. Do I need to tell the code where the image is located?

welcome. sorry had probs putting it on MS site. Frown

I *think* I know what youre saying, and if MS would let you put html in, there might be a way to do it. (you can put 'hidden' code in image tag that the browser will interpret, but it takes html to do it) But of course, if they would let you put html in, you could just use the code as is. So, no, not that I'm aware of.

the code I posted, the following changes should work for your vstore

<a href="javascript:window.external.AddFavorite('http://cheapstreetonline.vstore.ca/',
'WestCollectibles.com')" style="font-size:12px;color:#ffffff;font-family:verdana;">
<img src="http://westcollectibles.com/images/bookmark.gif" border="0" width="174" height="48"></a>

you'll want to change WestCollectibles.com in the code to whatever you want to show up in person's favorites list when they save to favorites.

amd you may have to move the image to your store, rather than having it on msn (westcollectibles.com). depends on whether or not microsoft will allow hotlinking of images.
Ok thanks west, Yes I have that image on my vstore already...I will try the new code..im going to contact MS about the html...I dont think Im missing it anywhere..ive been over the options with a fine toothed comb..no html editor...thats insane..especially when your allowed to put anything you want on the pages.

Again, thanks for your help, I really appreciate it.

I'm not sure why someone would be offended if someone was willing to take their own time to help them. Confused If I were you, I wouldn't waste a moment of worry over it...as you said, a step by step is better, because later on, a new person can search and find the answer without having to post the same question again. If they are not knowledgeable in that area it's so much easier for them. Plus, it's also very easy to miss simple steps even if you are knowledgeable. Wink I always try to search before I ask unless I know someone who may have the answer at their fingertips. Big Grin

Usually much faster than that. if you havent gotten an email from them, might check the status of the ticket. The only time i've known them to take awhile with a response is when it was an issue that was taking some work to resolve (and you can pretty much rest assured they are working on it even if they havent responded to ticket)
Hey WOW Smile

I received an answer to my support ticket questions this morning. CS told me that you can not save the seller details in a profile. Confused That's very strange! They told me I have to manually choose it each time. Oh well...it's not the end of the world.

I thought that you could save the Seller Details to a profile, correct? Or was I dreaming that it was true? Razz

They're also working on importing all of my listings, but the photos haven't shown up at all. So....guess I wait to see if they come through in the next 24 hours according to CS. <fingers crossed>

Do you know how much time we have before they close our accounts at the "other place" if we don't pay? I thought I read somewhere that we have until the 15th of the month. Do you know if that's correct?

Thanks a bunch!! Smile

Hey hd -

Seller Details is, in and of itself a "profile," that you create and save and can use on a per-listing basis (provided you use a template for each listing.)

Or, to save even more time, you can create an Item Details profile, choose a template and a Seller Details profile on it, and then choose that particular Item Details profile when you go to make a Master Profile. It will then load all the info (Seller Details included) onto your listing.

Hope that helps!

yeah, you can. like cara said (and like i said before) you can create a seller details profile (be sure to save, of course), then select seller details inside of an item details profile (be sure to save, of course) and then create a master profile using that item details profile.

if that's not working for you, then something is wrong.

Hey WOW! Smile

Thanks again for the step-by-step on how to access my support ticket status. The customer service is TOPS!!! They really seem to care about their users.

I found out that the reason my Seller Details was not saving to a Profile was because there is a glitch that does not allow Seller Details to be saved to a profile with a custom template. CS stated that they have passed this along to their programmers and they will be working on a solution to this. They didn't even realize this was going on so I'm glad that you recommended that I open a ticket. Wink

Lovin' Auctiva and have already had 1 friend and 1 family member move to this auction site, and they love it!

Edit: Thank you, Cara for your reply! I appreciate your assistance. So glad CS was able to figure out what the problem was! Smile I don't mind selecting my Seller Details Profile to add to a Profile in the meantime..not a huge deal, but it will be nice when I don't have to.

That's for sure!! Sheesh...it's frightening over "there". That's one of the reasons I left besides the fact that their AMS doesn't even work as they promised it would.

AUCTIVA IS FANTASTIC! I didn't even know what I was missing all these years. Razz
