Re: Auctiva Site Update Related Issues (2/19/09)

auctivamiked ·
Hi Community, Update - The issue that was causing the return policy selection interface not to show up on the Auctiva listing creation page has just been resolved, so you should now be able to enter return once again. We adjusted our system to match eBay's new format for submitting return policies with the release conducted today. We are also not seeing very many of the error messages I mentioned in my initial post any longer, but there still appear to be some outstanding issues causing...

If you would like to create an auto-relist profile that will make your listings to which it is applied relist regardless of whether or not they sell, you would want to select the following options in the "I Want to Auto-relist if" section of your auto-relist profile: - Any items have sold - The item qualifies for a relist credit - Auto-Repost if the item does not qualify for eBay relisting credit Once you have created your auto-relist profile, you can...

Hi ajolson1964, Yes, you can certainly add video to eBay listings that you create through Auctiva. In order to add video to a listing, you will need to acquire the HTML code used to generate the video from an eBay supported video hosting site (such as You Tube or Google) and then embed that code into the HTML version of the description editor when creating the listing. You can access the HTML version of the description editor on the Auctiva listing creation page by clicking the “Source” tab...

Hello myprecious4boyz - Unfortunately, there is no bulk tool available that would allow you to add templates to already active listings that you created on eBay. However, it is possible to add the template to items which close after you have an active Auctiva account and, should you wish, you can add our templates to already active listings, but it requires a few more steps. If you have listings you created on eBay which have closed, you can use the Import Listings option on the closed...

Hi, Well, what's in Auctiva's stock template lib is what you'll find using the Select Template on the one-page lister. There is the ability to create custom templates. The one on that listing is almost certainly a custom job. I note you pointed to a clothing seller. I've been assisting with creation of more "retail" looking templates in the Template portion of the Forum. I refer to the activity as "coffee challenge", i.e. I do them in the early AM. I have been specializing in assisting the...

Hi willfull3, I'm having getting an accurate impression of what you are doing based on your description, so I can't really tell you exactly what you are doing wrong. However, it is not necessary to create a folder to add an image to an auction, nor is it necessary to upload that image twice. If you are looking to add an image to your listing that you have already uploaded into your Auctiva account, you will first want to click one of the "Select an Image" boxes on the listing creation page.

Re: How to Incorporate Thumbnail Images (Supersize option) to my Ebay Listings!?

Hi superserviceman, The only practical way to use Auctiva's image hosting along with the thumbnail layout with supersize option would be to create and post your listings using the Auctiva listing creation page, which can be accessed by clicking the "New Listing" link under the "Listings" tab within your Auctiva account. There is one way I can think of that you would be able to do this when listing directly through eBay, but I don't believe it is practical because you would still have to...

Hi kellyh880, While I wasn't able to understand what you meant in your last post, I came across this one and I believe I understand what you are saying now. The behavior you are describing is due to a known issue between the Mac version of Firefox and the Auctiva Uploader that causes this to happen with some images, particularly very large ones. The company that developed this uploader is working on a new version that promises to correct this issue and we will be getting that new version...

Hi, My only thought on the DPI issue may be any dithering of the image due to "creation" of more image dots in combination with applied compression. Frankly, I saw only very very small differences in the uploaded photos I tested. Only inspection with Picasa and Paint told me there were real differences in the stored quality. A quality of 90 or higher should have very little artifacts, so sticking with the Aurigma uploader is a better choice for very high quaility images. Bypassing the resize...

Re: Uploading Images Extra Steps Why?

I have a similar suggestion - related to the original poster of this thread. When using Image Uploader, you select images and then upload them into a Pre-Existing folder. This requires you to first create the image folder (manage folders), which is an unnecessary step. In addition to listing pre-existing folders, you should allow the creation of a NEW folder, with optional color selection.
